JS is probably changing the dates to the letter he sent out to the fans last year.
September 1st, 20125:44 pm
I thought things would be better after Bobby Cox retired….SOS
If the WC Era has shown anything, it is that playoff baseball is all about momentum. Even the optimists on the blog would be hard-pressed like a steam roller to point to the kind of players on this present club who are even capable of putting on a run that catapults the Braves.
Ya gotta feel for Heyward & Freeman. They probably think they have to do the heavy lifting, and they don’t have a clue right now. Another demoralizing Sept., and they may never know how to.
September 1st, 20125:45 pm
The Phillies might finish in second place, after all…
I know. I wish BC were back. At least he shows some fire.
September 1st, 20125:46 pm
I’m in receipt of a $46.00 Braves tic to a future game….I look at it along side y coke and Planters jar; I am compelled to tell you all, when I look at it—I see a ‘bluelight special,’ sans K-Mart.
Hello everyone! This is funny, because most ripped me for complaining, so the panic button has been pushed……. I’ll just sit back, and enjoy the panic after only 1 game into Sept. We still have 29 games left. Thanks for the entertainment…..LOL!!!!! Peace my friends. I’m calling it a day, and please try not to kill each other……”Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!”
vitriol spewer (phil)
There’s nothing “the city” can do about the lack of superior results with our teams other than not go to the games.
That isn’t happening in large enough numbers, so accept what we’ve got. Might as well.
We can gripe, gripe, gripe but it’s pointless, aside from maybe getting the idiot manager fired.
September 1st, 20125:47 pm
What four word phrase is currently going through the heads of every player, coach, exec, fan, vendor, usher, grounds crewman of the Atlanta Braves organization?
September 1st, 20125:48 pm
It will not change until the idiot manager is gone.
Those little rollers hit by the opposition happen pretty frequently and they are always frustrating.
Lil' Barry Bailout

Here we go again.
Here we go again?
Momentum, my ass.
See ball, hit ball.
Field ball and throw to base if necessary. Pitch ball where their bats usually ain’t.
We generally do the latter well. The former? Sigh…
September 1st, 2012
Does Mitch Williams irritate anyone else besides me?
ME BIG TIME…..He talk that he was a Big Time HOF Pitcher…sheeeeeeee
September 1st, 20125:50 pm
Bingo, Lil’ Barry!
Thanks for the solid outing Hudson, glad to know you are there when they need you, chief.
Let’s not walk the pitcher please.
September 1st, 20125:51 pm
Way to go, ace.
The pitching has recovered from its early season woes. Not all of the Braves’ problems are due to bad hitting.
Their middle relief has been the main problem. So being patient with Lee should be a priority. I don’t see it happening.
What a hot load of garbage the Braves put out on the field today (and last night). SMH.
This utterly disturbing…I’m gone for a while…….Go Bravos!
September 1st, 20125:52 pm
Even if we made the one game play-in…we’d roll out Huddy before a hot Medlen.
This is mighty discouraging. I’m cheering for the Nats, that’s how bad it’s got!
… and the levy is about to burst!
I smell sarcasm, Lakewood.
This is terrible. Same crap on a different day. Yet another series loss coming up. The last series they won was against the Padres over two weeks ago at Turner Field.
September 1st, 20125:53 pm
I’m going for a run in this 100 degree heat factor mess outside….
It will be far more enjoyable than watching more of this bulls*** effort.
LOL How Sad! Walk The Pitcher.
September 1st, 20125:54 pm
that’s it……C.F./////////////I’m seeking refuge from refuse.
Both the Padres and Phillies are the hottest they’ve been all season. Still, that doesn’t excuse the Braves if they think they are true contenders.
If there is anything positive about this year’s Choke its that the idiot manager may be, just may be, run off. I hope.
Of course Fredi uses Avilan in a high-leverage situation where the game is still somewhat within reach.
Juan, why because he’s an x Phillie. Homer Simpson and most of all Chip Carey is the worst announcer I’ve ever heard and I have MLB so I’ve heard them all.
September 1st, 20125:55 pm
Wow, you could see the roller coaster effect this team has on each other. No inspiration today, no big name stopper coming to the rescue. And it all started with a blown save and a team that is leaderless right now! Anybody remember Fredi putting Hinske in the lineup in San Fran? Where are the heroes on this team?
Get your playoff tickets before there all gone . ITS Sept stay home and watch golf
Playoff tickets go on sell on SEP 14. Iwonder how many they are going to sell.
September 1st, 20125:56 pm
Walking Lee with the bases loaded is embarrassing.
See….Fredie let a lefty to Pitch a Righty…..
Just watched Ice Cube beat down Debo. Reminds me of what Fredi is doing to the Braves.
Good luck tomorrow Hamels you will have it easy.
September 1st, 20125:57 pm
Match up Freddie….Bring up a Righty in this situation
It’s almost as if the Phillies care.
The luck for this team is absolutely awful another slow roller that might have been a double play had the ball been hit with more authority. This team is painful to follow, yet we all still follow them.
September 1st, 20125:59 pm
If I’m a Cardinal, and I just lost Furcal for the year, and I see the Braves first in the WC in Sept…
I feel pretty good about my chances. Frank Wren and Fredi must be fired the day after 162.
go polish your head huddy
down 5-0 is what in Braves years? 32-0 ?
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
September 1st, 20126:00 pm
I hope everyone enjoys football season.
September 1st, 20126:01 pm
This team sucks right now.
Even the ball boy stinks.
September 1st, 20126:02 pm
The Braves game is just something to do until Alabama-Michigan.
Fire Fredi AND Wren
September 1st, 20126:03 pm
Line on Hudson: 5 plus innings, nine hits (one homer), five earned runs, three walks, three Ks. 99 pitches (63 strikes)
September 1st, 20126:04 pm
Maybe Fredi Gonzalez should be canned after this game. Might as well be proactive and change something before it unravels too much.
As Green Days says, “Wake me up when september ends!”. The team can say that this year is different, but I am afraid we will soon see that it is no different. The mental leadership provided by Fredi Gonzales has always been poor and this team falls apart under pressure. They seem to do well as the underdog(i.e. down 5-0 and feeling like the game is lost); but when it comes time to perform in key games and key situations they crumble. Its a shame because they are probably one of the most talented teams in baseball. They need a manager who can harness this talent and bring out its potential.
“I hope everyone enjoys football season.”
Happy Hurricane fan here – Duke Johnson is the truth.
September 1st, 20126:06 pm
Why the hell is Reed Johnson playing? Bourn would have got the 2nd scoring run by the Phillies. Johnson can’t hit either. You sit Bourn for Johnson? Everyday one player or another is getting a day off.
hate to suffer through september.
September 1st, 20126:07 pm
And what has been learned today?
1. Obviously Tim Hudson is NOT an ace, and can’t win meaningful games.
2. The Altanata offense is a joke.
3. Dan Uggla is as he’s been for 3 + months…Worthless in any measure.
4. The 2012 September Braves are every bit the chokers, as the September 2011 Braves proved to be.
5. If there is a headcase, choke job, spit-it-out team in MLB, it is the Atlanta Braves.
6. Winners find a way to win. The Braves, under Fredi G. find a way to spit it out in September. They are who they are, and they show it.
September 1st, 20126:08 pm
announcer saying this is a shut down inning ha ha
count_schemula ……Happy Hurricane fan here
Here to….GO CANES
Cliff Lee at 73 pitches…
i would walk freeman to face mac anyday even with bases loaded lol flip side if im freeman im thinkin i better not walk because this is our best chance to score… hahaha
Two years of top level talent is on its way down the drain. But no worries guys, we still have guys like Matt Chernoff to tell us we still have a winning record!
September 1st, 20126:09 pm
Freeman walked allowing Mac the perfect opportunity to end the rally.
Fox announcer is an Idiot saying to go after Freeman with mac on Deck. Mac has done nothing.
and in last at bat vs Mac that same announcer said that he should walk Mac because he is so dangerous and should face Uggla.
THE ANNOUNCER IS RETARDED GIVING MAC THE HYPE. MAC HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING.
David from Athens, AL
September 1st, 20126:10 pm
Need big hit Mac
NO Glasses for Mac
Oh no look who’s up with the bases loaded?
not to worry mr lee
haha here we go lee will get out of it mac will suck it up lol
September 1st, 20126:11 pm
Come on!! Really?!
McCann is clutch.
And the patheticness just goes on and on…these Braves aren’t man enough.
We haven’t won a series since August 13th. I don’t see us winning one the rest of the season.
Veer…..His name is Tom McCarthy….he’s a Phillis play by Play
I would have been fine with Mac making an out if he would have hit the ball hard or worked the count, but he did neither. On the second pitch of the at bat he got jammed and hit a weak pop to the short stop. This team is beyond bad.
Great Hit Mac. You Are No Good!
September 1st, 20126:13 pm
who would have thunk it lol mac im just gonna start laughin at you im tired of bein mad at you…. waste of time so i will just LMAO from here on out
Will the real Brian McCann please stand up. Who is this imposter?
BC/ Miami Game are better than thi game
I’m done with this team. They suck!
September 1st, 20126:14 pm
Well folks, Wren and company basically brought back the same team that choked last year. So its definitely time to shake up the “core” and do what needs to be done to win. But i would send Uggla, Hansen, JJ and McCann packing first chance I get!
Uggla Janish and ?Hinske? up in the 7th, so…
Everyone talking about Fredi but the blame also rest on Wren..he did nothing to improve this team this winter and was happy with what we had. The players also are to blame, half need to go. Just not a good combination..new blood needed.
Why is Mccann playing when we have a catcher that is a better hitter and fielder? Mccann doesn’t have an extra base hit in over a month. Mike Minor has more than Mccann. Fredi playing favourites.
September 1st, 20126:15 pm
this is getting so old…at the very least why doesn’t fg platoon mac and rossy. mac way too tired looking at bat. no patience or idea of what to do.
In my head I hear the voice of Buck Belue on his radio show calling McCann the “Siiiilvah Slugaaahh”
“BC/ Miami Game are better than thi game”
Braves are relegated to GameCast here, lol
Avilan is a decent pitcher. Was he unavailable last night when Philly had those 3 lefties up that were hitting under. 200 against lefties? Just wondering…
Mister Magoo > Brian McCann
September 1st, 20126:16 pm
Sitting Bourne down for Johnson, how is that decision working for you so far FG!
You have no problem leaving Uggla in the lineup despite his stats. Let me guess who is closer to hitting 300 right now Uggla or Bourne….hmmmm?
Day 1 of the September swoon! FG for coach of the year, heck why not the decade!!!
September 1st, 20126:17 pm
Now let me see, if they can clone a bad McCann can they also clone a good Dan Uggla?
I suppose Luis Avilan has thrown the ball pretty well today.
September 1st, 20126:18 pm
Does anybody remember the last time that McCann had an RBI hit?
The Braves need to bench McCann for the rest of the season. I am sick of this fat ass’ selfishness and demanding to play through injuries that are clearly affecting his ability to play.
I would sacrifice a family member to get David Ross in there everyday.
In fact, I hope the Braves decline McCann’s option next season if he’s going to keep screwing up like this down the stretch every season.
Another quality start by Hudson the braves STOPPER!!! LOL!! This guy disappears in every big game, and especially when the team needs a strong outing. Yet all braves fans think he is a big time #1 starter. Only thing that is big time about Hudson is the money the braves are paying him. He and McCant should be 2 veterans that the braves can count on in big games.
September 1st, 20126:19 pm
If the Braves collapse again this year, next year might be a great year to rebuild. We have a lot of salary coming off the books and hopefully more with McCann and Uggla out the door. I think we should trade Hudson and Maholm and go with a rotation of Medlen, Hanson (gotta give him a chance to get back on track), Minor, Delgado and Teheran. Let’s give them a year to mature with little to no pressure to win. Keep Heyward, Freeman, Simmons and Prado as our offensive core then try to find some additional pieces to round out the team. Maybe try to pry Upton from Arizona or take a shot on some other guys.
I wonder if Liberty would roll-over the savings from one year to the next? I hate to see this team have a down year, but I don’t see us being all that competitive next year anyway. I don’t see why we can’t rebuild for one season with an eye towards 2014.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
