MRSA is an acronymn for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)…..which is basically a serious Staph infection that is resistant to almost all antibiotics…..Vancomycin is one of only a small few drugs that can fight it……
Check out this Wikiipedia article and get prepared for the most intensive germ fighting battle at your home as you guys battle it…My sister-in-law had it two years ago after some female surgery and even today stil has some occasional eruptions of it….
Yes nasty is an accurate description………nastier than you can imagine…..

She and I have both known that we had high readings for the past fifteen years. This appears to be the first manifestation of real health problems however. She’s 70. She took prednisone for over 30 days which set her off I believe.

Tommy’s pretty close… since May 1, he has 49 walks in 111 IP a 3.97 BB/9 while being hit at a .283/.359/.477/.836 clip… 4.84 ERA. 98 K’s in that time frame

I wasn’t talking about Uggla and McCann, TOBF, just the team in general. There have been a few plays this season that meretited a benching, but Fredi doesn’t seem to find that appropriate. Although I must say, Uggla should have been benched after that play where he just held the ball while the winning run scored.

With MRSA the hygeine is so important to prevent it from spreading. It is often contracted in institutions like hospitals and nursing homes, and can be really dangerous as it is super agressive. the lengths my brother and sister-in-law had to go through were unbelievable……….there are two versions…one is “hospital acquired” -or CA MRSA and the other is “community acquired” MRSA…..
Now however the two have almost merged into the same mutation and both versions are found both in and out of hospitals……
Very, very dangerous………..

The Braves have started their swoon a little early this year, and going up against the Phillies big three won’t exactly be kind to us. With McCann and Uggla dying their big death this year, it’s not gonna be pretty. Lets see what happens.

hospital acquired is “HA MRSA” and community acquired or “CA MRSA”
and prayers are a good thing….without them my sister-in-law would not be here today….I’m 66 now so understand the slowing down.
Also as we get older many times our resistance is reduced as well….why some of those flu strains can be so dangerous to the “elderly”…..add diabetes and things get more complicated.
Will shoot some prayers up also………..

nolie…..don’t mean to scare richbrave….but you have to be aware of how bad it CAN be to be proactive and treat it seriously.
My brother works for Microsoft and has unlimited benefit insurance with no copays…the kind Obama hates…..at one time they had 5 bags of vancomycin in their refrigerator at $2500 per bag. She had a bad, bad time and is still very alert for signs…..
Hers was compicated by being embedded in a surgical wound and it grew wildly from there.
My sister is a RN Hospital Administrator and so we are aware of the seriousness of these infectious diseases…………..hygiene is madantory…..
Don’t know how old you are nolie but some of us older folks are more vulnerable then we once were….
nolie…..having it twice most often means that it was never totally removed or cured, but was lurking in your system, hiding if you will….that is one of the insidious things about it

There are teams that are good enough to get there or close to there by luck. There are other teams who when given the opportunity grab opportunity by the throat and control their own destiny.
That is not the Braves. They are victims waiting to happen. The Braves are good enough to be close at the end, but they are not tough enough to grab and control their own destiny.
So the Braves squander a first inning opportunity by two of their “stars” and then take the lead in the top of the second.
Braves could actually get swept this weekend and that isn’t a joke.

The last big offensive rush was a few games ago — offense is inconsistent — they have hitters and go through good spells but when it has counted as of lte they come up short.

The Braves are playing real bad baseall right now & the repeat of September of 2011 is sadly on.
Note that Philly won’t be as bad next yr they will be back. Cannot say we will. We might but it takes a few $$$$$$$ to keep a team in the W column.
