Let’s say the Pirates and Cards came on really strong and won 94 games each. The Braves win 93 games. Did the Braves collapse?

“The Braves hardly have an insurmountable lead over their competitors. Anything can still happen.”

Yeh, but the Braves have an easy schedule and the Pirates and Cardinals probably are going to have to kill each other off as well.

3 to 3.5 games is a lot if the Braves play good baseball and win at their current clip.

ACE, you can’t sit there and think you know how hard DOB works, or whatever. I mean you can of course, but it’s an ignorant thing to do. You see what I’m saying? His job sounds awesome and I’m sure it has it great sides, but it’d also be a highly demanding, tedious one I would think. Day and day after day rushing around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. To win rthe bats must carry the day. They must be tough outs, work the count, pile up pitches, and not miss mistakes. The offense has to be on it’s best behavior this holiday weekend. If they are, the BRAVES will continue to own rthe PHILLIES as they have this entire season to date. Slack off just a little, and the starters for PHILADELPHIA will carry out their avowed intent to bury the BRAVES.

“To win rthe bats must carry the day. They must be tough outs, work the count, pile up pitches, and not miss mistakes. The offense has to be on it’s best behavior this holiday weekend. If they are, the BRAVES will continue to own rthe PHILLIES as they have this entire season to date. Slack off just a little, and the starters for PHILADELPHIA will carry out their avowed intent to bury the BRAVES”

Every series is a big series for the braves from here on out. Yes they face 3 incredible pitchers but they should think of this as a preview to a post-season series. Not much different than Cain, bumgardner, vogelsong

MRSA is a bacteria that will not get better with the normal first application antibiotics rich. basically it is a highly resistant staph germ, and they will have to try stronger drugs, perhaps even a daily IV.
Unfortunately, I am familiar with them from personal experience

The Braves have made it harder on themselves with their slowed down pla as of late.

It was disappointing to lose the series to the Padres & now have played themselves into a must win situation every night from here on out.

That stretch where they lost 6 or 7 hurt, now the Braves have put pressure on themselves.

If they lose a post season spot, it will be the players own fault.

The pitching is a little thin right now with Sheets on the DL and Hanson is plain down outright unreliable.

Even the usually homer leaning Braves announcing team is now concerned about Tommy. I think it was Ben Ingram who says he is very concerned about Tommy & Ben seldom says anything negative or alarming, but hey, this time he told it as he really saw it.

I doubt if Hanson has another quality start the rest of the way, he has nothing left. As least for this yr.

Jeff R — I am not going to say he should not start again cause there are not many options unless FW gets someone at the last minute.

But two more starts like the last time and maybe you might have to throw in one of the kids in the system and that might not be fair but you have to put in your most healthy bodies out there that gives you the best shot at winning.

Its a tough decision for Freddi and Mr. Wren.

Tommy has to do better, even the most ardent Hanson backer will say that (I hope).

BTW, diabetes appears to be the curprit behind all these infections she been having over the past four and one-half months. Thank you for the imfo.

My childrem are saying this can kill you, but the dr. was relieved to see improvement over the past 24-hours. So he’s just administering shots, and she can stay at home. I’m on pins and needles of course watching for any signs of retrograde health conditions. And being a holiday weekend, a pharmacy will administer the shots over the next three days.

It will be interesting to see if Jimmy Rollins is in the Phillies lineup tonight. Manager Charlie Manuel benched the veteran shortstop in Thursday’s game against the Mets after he didn’t hustle on a dropped pop-up.

I can’t imagine having a manager who actually holds players responsible for poor performance. Must be nice.

Maybe the worst part of Hanson right now is his attitude. I don’t know how many watched the interview after the game his last start, but he looked defeated. He doesn’t seem to have an answer, but still believes he pitched well enough up to that disaster inning. I disagree. He didn’t look good the whole game, but got lucky with some gem defense behind him early on.

I think the BRAVES believe SHEETS can get back to his first four games with rest. So until the plau-offs they’ll park him I think. Or start one game before the play-offs. I really expect to see HANSON shut-down if or when we do get into the play-offs with BEN taking over his duties if there are any.

A good start for Hanson, imo, is to get in shape this offseason for the ‘13 season. He was thin when he came up. I don’t know if it will help his lost fastball’s velocity and command, but I’d say it WILL help something with his performance. Also his delivery might need to be tweeked somehow. That has to hurt something in that arm darting a baseball like that somewhere down the line. Never seen anything like it.

Jeff, Hanson is still a talent out there. His loopy pitches could be knockouts way more if he’d control the fastball. He doesn’t even need to throw it 94 anymore. Just hit the spots and don’t be scared to throw them. It’d be a big waste if he just continues doing whatever it is he’s doing because hitters will adjust even more to him as time goes on. His numbers will get worse and worse imo.

He definitely needs to get that fixed…. however, his delivery was always “messed up”…. don’t know how much he could do to fix it.

TheOnlyBravesFan, with you on Delgado!

If Teheran was looking good this year, I’d have thrown him in as well… surely 1 of them can do better than Tommy… at least keep hitters from batting .300 against you. Delgado seems to be our only other option, but he is a good one. We saw him earlier. He can compete.
