nolie the truth hurts you loser.
were we leading after 6? If so, there goes that nice figure too
I think so… wonder who performed the jinx tonight.
Amanda Comak @acomak
There was more than one #nats player in the clubhouse shouting out “He got him!!!” when Mayberry’s HR cleared the fence in Atlanta.
August 31st, 201210:50 pm
September has started a day early!
NO MORE FREDI
I smell September coming.
August 31st, 201210:51 pm
that was cold, truth….
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
Yeah, gee! Now what—do we have 3 whole losses when leading after 6 to go with our 60-some-odd wins?
Pathetic. Why are they even gonna play out the season?…
Hey Sid – while you’re writing CJ off to retirement, send McCann and Uggla packing too. Let’s free up some salary space and go shopping for a few great players. Just for fun, bring Gattis up for a sip of coffee for September and sit McCann for about a month. Gattis and Ross can split the catching duties, can’t be any worse than McCann up there.
pahtetic garbage losers.
Mark Zuckerman @MarkZuckerman
Plenty of applause in Nats clubhouse when Mayberry homered to put Braves behind in 10th.
Let’s go Janish… get on base kid.
Chipper gets thrown out at the plate loafing from second base. One run.
Janish stays at third instead of scoring on what should have been a wild pitch. Two runs.
Kimbrel throws a slider strike one to a guy looking for a fastball. Makes him look sick.
Kimbrel throws a slider strike two to a guy looking for a fastball. Makes him look sick.
Kimbrel throws a fastball 0-2 to a guy looking fastball all the way when he looked sick on the slider and BOOM! Ballgame!
Braves aren’t good enough or smart enough to play lax baseball and expect to win.
Their slack play cost them the game tonight.
phillies just come in our house and take care of business. were playing like we have a playoff spot locked down or something.
Ball was only 6 inches inside on Uggla….tough luck
The A Bomb
ANY TIME Gonzalez starts making moves before the 7th inning it doesn’t usually end well.
ZERO creativity. Unless, of course, it’s written down 24 hours prior. He is outmanaged and that proves how good this team COULD be.
But most of the team plays like they hate playing for this guy.
August 31st, 201210:52 pm
Yanish bobbed back up over 200 for a day or two anyway….
who me? they need to go.sadly, it likely will not happen.
sid the jerk, I see.
McFann: Those 3 losses mean the world… more important than the wins…. facts don’t matter
August 31st, 201210:53 pm
I called it. Told you not playing playoff type baseball for a run in the first was going to hurt. Fredi is clueless. Bet tomorrow he throws out a funky lineup like that will be the answer. You suck Fredi. There is no answer for that.
Sad…crunch time and they are faltering again. Major failure on Minor to shut them down after given the lead, failure to get add-on runs and failure of KImbrell to give that sweet a pitch with 2 strikes, and failure by CM. Sad night.
sid, you wouldn’t know a baseball truth if it came up and introduced itself
Also, the man who put the Braves ahead in the 6th……..
vitriol spewer (phil)

The Atlanta Braves are choking. We’re all quite familiar with how this script reads.
who cares chip
pretty bad when were considered a top team but were getting clowned and all the tweet ragging on us about the nationals gaining ground every night.
Braves Fans are you ready for some Football.
September….be careful to critic the great Chipper…..you’ll be called a hater.
August 31st, 201210:55 pm
September (or whoever you really are)…. what if Kimbrel throws another slider and the guy gets a hit, possibly a HR… then everyone is blaming him for not mixing up his pitches. Can’t have it both ways. I didn’t mind the FB being thrown, just pick a different location…. like low and away for a ball.
relegated to PTV
Struggla isn’t pointing to the Phil’s dugout now…
Mayberry doing it all tonight, as he usual does against the Braves.
Hinske? Game over
Yessir, gonna be a sweep I do believe. The collapse is a coming.
I’m Mayberry’d out!
August 31st, 201210:56 pm
nolie keep your head up your a–
sid, you may want to reconsider butting heads with nolie. He knows a lot about this game.
Hey Fredi doesn’t this look familiar?
Erick Hinske being the “last hope” somehow reminds me of the captain being the last man on the Titanic.
you always take every opportunity to rip Chipper, thus you are a Chipper-hater. pretty elementary there sid old buddy
“.be careful to critic the great Chipper”
I think you mean critique.

This Game will cost us in the final weeks, Bank On It!
enough time wasted on this crap outta here
Not really, I don’t get fully into football until the baseball season is over. Any more questions?
Can’t stomach another collapse especially when I don’t see the team giving 100%. Very disappointed.
“The collapse is a coming.”
nothing more to say….hate to go to bed with that sick feeling in the gut after you watched another give away…
This team may have wasted two years of all world talent because of one man. We’ll be lucky if it takes them less than a week to recover from this loss.
August 31st, 201210:58 pm
sid, so you can get back to your p*rn?
wow, look how nice and white Hinske’s pants are…..
Sometimes this team makes me want to sob.
did not stun them chip
This one was a team loss. Looks like they’re hung over from the 10 game road trip. Pitching wasn’t there tonight, and no clutch hitting. The way that Doc pitched, this game should have been a blowout.
The two lefties scare e. The Braves could find themselves with a 4 losing streak as they step into September.
Frdei, you might want to shine up that Harley so that you can ride off into the sunset, and away from the Braves dugout….forever!!!!
The worst part of it is, people expect the Braves to collapse because they set the standard!
“sid, you may want to reconsider butting heads with nolie. He knows a lot about this game.”
Who Cares, Dude is a Total ####
I’ll take 1 out of 3. No sweep please.
“Not really, I don’t get fully into football until the baseball season is over. Any more questions?”
Just hold down the excitement for baseball, a la last season….
Hinske with another failure of an AB… can’t we drop him yet.
We lose a few games and people fear another collapse. It’s normal to lose games, sometimes 2-3 in a row. We’ll be fine. We’re not collapsing. We will get into the playoffs, hopefully as the #1 WC…. division hopes seem to be slipping.
August 31st, 201210:59 pm
Braves are LOSERS. Janish should of tried to score on that wild pitch because there wasnt a Brave going to get a hit with runners in scoring position. When they fire Freddi kick Snitkers ass to the worthless bum. Phils sweep Braves as Nats sweep Cards. Again will never have family go to game with Freddi . Dodgers and Cards win wildcard as Wren blows up Braves this winter. Nice going Joe Braves will not pick up ground on Nats you ass they are going to beat us by 10 games or more as we cant beat teams under 500 in Sept. Are bench is one of the worst in baseball but these stupid managers have to go righty against a lefty and a lefty against a righty crap. FIRE freddi you watch LEE and Hamels will kick are asses
The fall started early this year. You can’t fire the entire team but we can and should fire the manager.
Our vaunted bullpen gives up 3 runs and theirs gives up nothing. They get rid of Victorino and Pence and still have enough to beat Atlanta.
I do remember a time when a guy like Gonzalez might have been appreciated strictly on his managerial record.
But I do not remember a time when a manager 30 games ABOVE .500 over 1.5 appears to be so overmatched. Braves really do need a change to let these talented guys breathe. Gonzalez is not the guy.
Man. Sure glad we are doing so well against these sub .500 teams. So the Braves choked again against the Phillies. There were multiple “chokes” in tonight’s game by so many Braves. I guess we can say that the choke tonight was a team effort. But Janish wears the goat horns for the biggest brain cramp.
As crazy as this might sound…watch out for the Phillies in the wild card race…
Oh yeah—I always forget that rule…
Ah well…crummy game. That happens…time for bed! Will be looking for BMac news via iTouch…Night, all!
Points on the closer:
Without Kimbrel’s performance this year… the Braves aren’t leading the Wild Card. But…. he has YET to prove he can close out big, clutch games down the stretch. And with their recent struggles and the Phillies rotation set up the way it is this weekend, don’t tell me this game wasn’t one of those. Let’s hope that changes… immediately.
He’s only pitched 48 innings this year. Once or twice this season you have to throw out “the book” and put him back in for a second inning, and this was one of those times. I know it’s a long season, but Gonzalez far too often doesn’t put his team in the best position to win. This was another one of those games.
August 31st, 201211:00 pm
These guys are a bunch of choking dogs.
Four wins in the last 13 years, starting at around the same time they folded last year. Losing three out of four to non-contending teams, just like they did so often last September.
This is the same team that lost its final six games at home in 2009 with a playoff spot on the line. This is the same team that held a 3 game lead in the division on September 1, 2010 and ended up finishing six games out before losing in the first round of the playoffs in appalling fashion. This is the same team that authored the worst collapse in NL history in 2011.
I shudder to think about how 2012 is going to end. Chokers don’t change their stripes.
The problem was not that Kimbrel threw a fast ball ,it was the location .Dead down the middle and straight ,no movement.
Trey @ 1058 Bye sid, ain’t gonna miss ya… don’t need to come back ever. Don’t let the door hit your @rse on the way out.
McCann needs to go on the DL and get his shoulder fixed. Going 0 for 5 every night is’t helping anybody.
now now tommyhawkin you bifg fat lying piece of poopoo, that is just no way to talk about your superiors
“The worst part of it is, people expect the Braves to collapse because they set the standard!”
And they’ll willingly oblige us.
August 31st, 201211:01 pm
“As crazy as this might sound…watch out for the Phillies in the wild card race…”
For real, creeping up in the rearview mirror…
“This one was a team loss. Looks like they’re hung over from the 10 game road trip.”
C’mon man…They had they day off yesterday to collect their minds….Gotta Win the Next Two, Nuff Said…And this offense while they may score some, they don’t hit with R.I.S.P.
Gotta be able to excel at that in big games against good teams
And BTW pitch calling was AWFUL.
If it was McCann — so be it. He was awful then. Garbage selection.
Remember this game as the one that officially started the Braves journey to collapse 2012
August 31st, 201211:02 pm
nah, The Great Expensive BoSox set the standard
Yeh, I don’t really like Kimbrel closing vs the Phillies, was confident in EOF and Venters, but crap happens. That one is all on Craig. Team is collapsing. Get used to it.
What a downer…
There is no reason for Eric Kratz and John Mayberry to kill the Braves. Mayberry is an out machine and Kratz was gifted an 0-2 fastball down the middle.
Hinski getting more mileage out of one AB a long time ago than any player should. Can’t cover LF and can’t do any real damage any more.
One other thing to look at tonight is that we only scored on homers. We swing for the fences. Helluva mindset.
August 31st, 201211:03 pm
Forgot the rest of the moniker.
Ok, I’ll give Kimbrel some slack on the blown save, but can’t give Chipper’s loafing play or Janish not scoring on a ball halfway to the Braves dugout a pass.
I repeat, Braves aren’t good enough to win not using their heads or giving 100% effort.
2-5 homestand here we come!
You guys have it all wrong. The collapse started two weeks ago against the Dodgers. The Braves have been a different team ever since that night they had the walk off win against the Dodgers two weeks ago.
“When someone doesnt do their job, You have to let’em go” !
The collapse is indeed underway….
Makes me really sad.
Gotta be Hinske’s last year at least
The Phillies sweep is in order. The Braves CHOKE this night was shared by many…a true team effort. Shortly, it will be September…and the results for these Braves, will be the same as September 2011. The last chapter of another Braves collapse has begun. The Braves are who they are. Many of the same players, the same manager, the same team officers. The result will also be the same. And why not? They are who they are. CHOKERS, HEADCASES, and LOSERS.
Just hold down the excitement for baseball, a la last season…
Okay, will do…. I’m a true Braves fan, and an all-around baseball fan…. I don’t mind. The Braves will not collapse this year, I’m fairly sure.
August 31st, 201211:04 pm
Another loss to another sub .500 team. What was it you guys were saying about “beating up on ” those teams?
Those guys are just too good..
ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo
From Elias: For the first time in Expos/Nationals franchise history, they have reached 80 wins before September.
August 31st, 201211:05 pm
boy that would be embarrassing if we missed the playoffs again. would have to be the axe for fredi and wren. our organization shouldnt accept another non playoff season.
They are who they are. CHOKERS, HEADCASES, and LOSERS. @Chas
yes you and the rest like you are exactly that
“Okay, will do…. I’m a true Braves fan, and an all-around baseball fan…. I don’t mind. The Braves will not collapse this year, I’m fairly sure.”
I hope they don’t either, but the streaky offense doesn’t give me a good feeling at all…..
“One other thing to look at tonight is that we only scored on homers. We swing for the fences. Helluva mindset.”
Co-Sign, They Have had that mindset since Mid August, and that is not gonna win games against good teams…It feels like Bobby-Ball again…Gotta Start playing ABC Baseball, I have been saying that for weeks
August 31st, 201211:06 pm
The only fairly sure thing “TheOnlyBravesFan,” is you have no idea if they’ll choke or not.
Which is not the worst, but not good, either.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
