You work your rotation NOW for Medlen to pitch the wild card playoff; if you lose that game four doesn’t even have a chance to happen.

When Venters is pitching my only hope is that Ross is catching because McCann has too much trouble handling pitches thrown in the dirt. Brian stabs at them one handed instead of blocking them with his body.

For teams to play 162 games and then play one game to see who gets into the playoffs is just plane STUPID.

The Braves have an outstanding bullpen from top to bottom. They have an excellent first base man in Freeman. Ross is terrific. Prado is fantastic everywhere and should be the primary 2B player. Heywood has improved but can be shakey at crucial times. McCann and Chipper are walking wounded going into crunch time. SS is all outstanding defence and no offence unless Simmons has a speedy and miraculous recovery. All of the newbies, Maholm, Johnson, Sheets have shown early foot but seem to be fading in the stretch. Bourne’s tank is aprroaching empty and it shows in his face. One ace starter in Hudson. Medlin has been beyond belief as a potential number two. Minor is iffy at best. There are no other reliable starters for the September to October run.
The manager is out of his depth and Uggla should be shut down before he undermines the all-too-slim chances the Braves have to get into the real playoffs.
Only realistic 2012 hope is for a blockbuster deal involving outstanding starters and sluggers. Otherwise, be a major seller now and rebuild for the long haul on the good stock we have right now.

Wren says he may make a trade to shore up the bench. You can bet it will be some washed up player that no other team wants. He does this every year instead of bringing up a young stud from the minors.

Watching Dan after I double clutched. He did hit one out earlier to his credit. Hope he gets on to prove prognostication is a high wire act.

Love having read this article earlier, then dozing off to what I thought was gonna be a Braves win versus Philly tonight only to awaken to learn they CHOKED and blew the game. Mental Midgets – this team will fail again!
