I said to some buddies today that Hanson would allow four runs in five innings and the Braves would get shut down by Stults and lose 4-1. I am hoping that I was wrong.

Too bad the genius field commander fails to acknowledge that piece of important information.

Typical Hanson pitch sequence to end what has become a typical Hanson start. Begin a guy 0-2 and eventually walk him while allowing four runs in less than five innings and throwing a ton of pitches.

Tommy Hanson = Mike Pelfrey.

Except Pelfrey’s velocity didn’t suddenly tank, but the same weak, tuck the tail in between the legs like a timid dog. Both came up big, but have fallen off. Also both fans of the two teams scream at the tv when they watch them.

I hope Beachy has a full recovery because Hanson is not the answer. If the Braves offer him anything, they would be IDIOTS! When this guy first came up and what he is now is like night and day! He has no velocity and he is always behind on hittters! The Braves just gave away 2 runs and this dam offense is no where to be found! A one game playogg loss is in order against St Louis!

I am glad that everyone sees Hanson’s poor mentality. I have been ragging on him since the beginning of last year when he would have his “inning” of troubles. Problem is that now, it is multiple innings. His ERA is by no means equal to what a major league starter for an organization that claims to have all this “young pitching talent” should have. He is a mop up guy at best. If he doesn’t get booted out of the starting lineup soon, the Braves can just hand the wild card spot to the Cardinals.

DEJAVU

Tommy Hanson (if he has much value) should be traded this winter before he diminishes his value any further and his salary jumps to $3.5-4M. He was (not his doing) way over hyped coming up. And the front office has to move him. He has been on the DL every season and always declines in the 2nd half and taxes the bullpen on days like today when he pitches behind every hitter. And probably the most alarming, is that he went from throwing 94-96mph when he came up, to now at barely 26 years old throwing just 88-91mph. That’s a huge decline for a guy so young and it’s not like taking off some speed has improved him command, it hasn’t by a long shot. I say trade for what you can get, avoid paying him a big raise through arbitration before he really falls apart as all the signs say he surely will. But even if he does stay healthy, he isn’t productive enough.
