Little league defense in this inning.
YES! Good throw Rossy.
August 29th, 20127:59 pm
Enough of Hanson
Mercy! The Braves shore do suck. Doesn’t matter, though. Its football season!
Not sure who I hate more, Hanson or Fredi? They both are awful.
My dead grandma who was handicapped could steal on the red retard and that stupid ass pitching motion. Now they score more runs when they shouldn’t have.
And right on cue, the sharks smell blood in the water – Nats put up a 2 spot.
I said to some buddies today that Hanson would allow four runs in five innings and the Braves would get shut down by Stults and lose 4-1. I am hoping that I was wrong.
Hanson is very weak-willed. He has no future.
August 29th, 20128:00 pm
Good throw by Ross saved that SB – had a good jump, Hanson needs to be done.
Hanson’s body language is that of a lazy, unmotivated slob who knows he sucks, but plays off any nagative stuff towards him interviews. He’s just TOO COOL to care about this silly game.
My fastball is topping out at 88mph and I am always at 100 pitches by the fifth inning. Oh well.
August 29th, 20128:01 pm
Bravesfanin Wis I heard you are still having sex with your dead grandma so your opinion doesn’t count
The A Bomb
When a guy makes it to the bigs as a power pitcher and is relying almost exclusively on breaking balls, something is wrong.
Too bad the genius field commander fails to acknowledge that piece of important information.
anti-negative guy. FU strong letter to follow.
Hanson is the worst! Please just release him! What a waste of a pick.
Hanson looks like that kid in Little League who has a curve ball and nothing else. He throws it and throws it and some of the smaller kids ooh and ahh over it. The older kids don’t blink and go up there and smack it.
August 29th, 20128:02 pm
Fredi, get me out of here. I forgot how to pitch.
Sorry Hanson, but you shouldn’t be surprised…. you’ve been awful lately, and today.
About damned time Fredi G enius.
August 29th, 20128:03 pm
good thing he wasn’t pinch hit for when they had that good scoring opportunity …. it might have looked bad if it worked in their favor
Typical Hanson pitch sequence to end what has become a typical Hanson start. Begin a guy 0-2 and eventually walk him while allowing four runs in less than five innings and throwing a ton of pitches.
Tommy Hanson = Mike Pelfrey.
Except Pelfrey’s velocity didn’t suddenly tank, but the same weak, tuck the tail in between the legs like a timid dog. Both came up big, but have fallen off. Also both fans of the two teams scream at the tv when they watch them.
I hope Beachy has a full recovery because Hanson is not the answer. If the Braves offer him anything, they would be IDIOTS! When this guy first came up and what he is now is like night and day! He has no velocity and he is always behind on hittters! The Braves just gave away 2 runs and this dam offense is no where to be found! A one game playogg loss is in order against St Louis!
Now Fredi takes him out. Great! Maybe if he had pinch hit for him with the tying runs in scoring position, this would be a 2-2 game instead of a 4-1 game.
It might be negative, but its the truth. His grandma could steal third on Hanson.
August 29th, 20128:04 pm
Positive of the night
Uggs has a 3 game hitting streak doesn’t he?
Doesn’t matter how many you get each night to get that going!
Once again, Hanson can’t finish the 5th inning. Just like last time. Definitely tradeable. Yep!
August 29th, 20128:05 pm
Puttin on a pitching and defensive clinic tonight fellas with that doink right there
Braves — especially Hanson — must’ve been in the GasLamp District last night into early this morning.
Yep – only surprise is that Hanson hasn’t given up a homerun … yet. Hope Sheets comes back strong and they demote Hanson.
August 29th, 20128:06 pm
Finally, it’s over.
Dan Uggla @FakeDanUggla
First, Hurricane Isaac. Now, Tommy Hanson. How many more disasters can the south handle?
Mark Bowman @mlbbowman
Hanson did not create the mess (well kind of w/ the bunt). But the point is he does not have the stuff to escape or minimize damage now
Hanson is a red head retard!
There was no good reason for Tommy to pitch that inning. He was lucky to only be down 2-1, but dumb Fredi just can’t help himself.
August 29th, 20128:07 pm
Hanson, the defense and probably a managerial non-decision put the Braves in a 3 run hole. I hope they brought shovels – gonna be a lot of digging to get back on top.
The sooner I don’t have to watch Hanson pitch in a Braves uniform anymore, the better.
I am not worried, I know that Fredi will protect me. It was not my fault that my ERA is 4.5 and I have lost my fastball. It’s not my fault that I am always at 100 pitches by the 5th inning. If only that lazy Chipper would have caught that ball, I would have still been in the game pitching.
August 29th, 20128:08 pm
One of Hansons quotes when he was ill about being sent down to rehab was that “they don’t know what they have with me”
Well, I think we all know very well what we had then and what we have now
Tommy pouts all day long….he’s done as a brave in my book
August 29th, 20128:09 pm
Hanson gives up 4 runs, goes 4.2 IP (14 outs) and allows 8 hits. He was awful, end of story. His ERA continues to balloon, and his WAR and tradeability continue to go down…
August 29th, 20128:10 pm
Where is my good buddy JJ? He should be up here with me?
August 29th, 20128:11 pm
I am glad that everyone sees Hanson’s poor mentality. I have been ragging on him since the beginning of last year when he would have his “inning” of troubles. Problem is that now, it is multiple innings. His ERA is by no means equal to what a major league starter for an organization that claims to have all this “young pitching talent” should have. He is a mop up guy at best. If he doesn’t get booted out of the starting lineup soon, the Braves can just hand the wild card spot to the Cardinals.
I think i can pitch to the Braves and beat them right now! It looks very easy. So the Phillies will send their top 3 pitchers against the Braves……. That equals 3 loses for the Braves and a 4 game losing streak!
Hanson threw 83 pitches, 48 strikes, 35 balls. Not good.
If Hanson had any spirit, he’d be p*ssed and punch a wall – break his hand and be done for the year. RIght now he just hurts the team every time he pitches.
August 29th, 20128:12 pm
We went to alot of games this year but again we will not go to another because this team dosnt do anything for me. Bourn great 300 hitter til August then like last year fly ball after fly ball .Did you ever see us come back when down by 2 or 3 after 5 innings . Bud Black for Freddi then we will have a manager. Stults CY YOUNG
This team’s problems against lefties have been so overexposed up to this point, a one game playoff could become a disaster if the other team exploits this weakness.
Supposedly this guy’s ERA balloons in the later innings. Not against the Braves, that is for sure.
You can figure if Heyward gets clowned by a lefty starter in his first ab, then if the same pitcher stays in the game, Heyward is gonna get clowned multiple times.
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
August 29th, 20128:13 pm
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
I’d take JJ any day over Hanson right now.
I’d take Linebrink and Proctor. Livan and Batista. Well, maybe not all those but…
August 29th, 20128:14 pm
Talking Chop @gondeee
How far have Jurrjens and Hanson fallen in the past year. Sad and frustrating to watch.
Bring up Constanza
Tommy Hanson (if he has much value) should be traded this winter before he diminishes his value any further and his salary jumps to $3.5-4M. He was (not his doing) way over hyped coming up. And the front office has to move him. He has been on the DL every season and always declines in the 2nd half and taxes the bullpen on days like today when he pitches behind every hitter. And probably the most alarming, is that he went from throwing 94-96mph when he came up, to now at barely 26 years old throwing just 88-91mph. That’s a huge decline for a guy so young and it’s not like taking off some speed has improved him command, it hasn’t by a long shot. I say trade for what you can get, avoid paying him a big raise through arbitration before he really falls apart as all the signs say he surely will. But even if he does stay healthy, he isn’t productive enough.
August 29th, 20128:15 pm
August 29th, 2012
Can he pitch?????
Jurrjens and Hanson have fallen about as quick as their fastball velocity has….
I am just glad its football season! Now I can complain about the offensive lines of both UGA and the Falcons instead of these sorry ass Braves
3-run homerun Uggla!
If Hanson cared as much about developing a six-pack as he did about his next six-pack of Heineken, he might be pretty good. He just hasn’t shown the dedication to the game that you would like to see.
Just got to a point where I can watch the game…from what I can tell Hanson had a melt-down, someone thought Prado needed to play one more position, and everyone looks like they don’t know there is a game going on. Did I miss anything?
August 29th, 20128:16 pm
I’m surprised that not even Braves’ right-handed hitters are able to hit all that well against lefties…
animus, he is Constanzaaaaaaaaaaaa
I said at the begining of the year that whenever Medlin came back from T.J surgery he should be in the rotation. Way to go Medlin. How long are we going to keep sending Hanson to the hill every 5 days. Can’t Fredi see that he sucks and needs to be traded or heck I would even just give him away. What a disappointment.
August 29th, 20128:17 pm
What do you even say to Hanson when you take him out other than “Terrible effort tonight, you are killing this team with your useless outings, we are all praying that Sheets come back soon”. I mean honestly, how much worse can Delgado be then Hanson? I have zero confidence in him.
How is Constanza gonna help us pitch?
Uggla is tied for 1st in the league with 2-out RBIs (if i heard correctly)
JJ and Hanson have fallen because the manager has castrated them.
You can tell many of the Braves adore playing for the esteemed field commander.
August 29th, 20128:18 pm
Pinch hit for this bum Janish. He couldn’t throw it up and hit it.
David O’Brien @ajcbraves
At this rate, yes. RT @joeseroski: @ajcbraves Probably safe to say Hanson would be left out of postseason rotation?
That walk was just to move onto Janish…. let’s get ‘em dude, it’d be a great time for your 1st HR this year.
August 29th, 20128:19 pm
That worked out pretty poorly.
I thought the Braves offense was one of the tops in the league?….
Fredi lets a sub .200 player hit with the bases loaded down 3. VINTAGE FREDI.
First pitch pop up…not surprising.
August 29th, 20128:20 pm
Probably should have hit for Janish there. That was likely our best opportunity.
Simmons can’t get back soon enough. Good grief!
there’s one of the negatives to Uggla taking walks, he’s setting up guys who aren’t hitting better than him
I am the real George, the FREDI disliker.
Should have pinch hit the Rev. no- brainer
Jurrjens is probably relieved that he isn’t the only projected pitching stud on the roster having the worst season of his career.
August 29th, 20128:21 pm
Constanza is almost equal to the Dos Equis guy in his awesomeness. He will bring the power and magic to the Braves that they nees ala the kick in the rear. He hustles and that is more than I can say for many a Brave these days.
I never said he was a pitcher, I was merely making a joke. Does someone else have a better suggestion that will work?
Chipper's Southern Bell
I went through all the hoops n didn’t get registered
Hanson has lasted 5 innings or fewer in 4 of past 5 starts. Went 4-2/3 today, allowed 8 H, 4 (3 ER), 2 BB, 3 K in 83 pitches.
Yep. Keep the defense strong chasing 3.
Nothing like a BIG GAME. Fan base deserves better than this brutal, passive strategy.
There was never any possibility the Braves would win when they went down 4-1. Same mentality sense 1996.
August 29th, 20128:22 pm
Every single time the Braves get within sight of the Nats, they come up small and give it right back.
yep, janish did a great job but it’s about time for him to sit. he hasn’t done a thing since the 3 hit game, not hitting balls hard anymore.
did anybody fully think Hanson was going to turn it around after the 4th? go to go for the big inning with a day off tomorrow and good pitching performances last couple of days. send pastor up there with 2nd and 3rd no outs. just poor managing period.
As much as I dislike Pastornicky, I would have pinch hit him for Janish, then sent Prado to short and Freddie at first. Braves may not get another shot and Fredi let it go by the wayside.
August 29th, 20128:23 pm
Freddie Freeman sat on the bench while the bases were loaded and watched Paul Janish pop up. Freeman
I have missed the majority of the game – was a reason for given for having Prado play 1st tonight?
August 29th, 20128:24 pm
Needed to pinch hit for Janish there. Day off or not, lefty or not, I’d rather see Freeman there. Heck, I’d take Rev, Hudson, or Medlen over Janish at the plate. Seriously.
“Hanson has lasted 5 innings or fewer in 4 of past 5 starts. Went 4-2/3 today, allowed 8 H, 4 (3 ER), 2 BB, 3 K in 83 pitches.”
Wouldn’t you think that Fredi would have recognized that pattern and pinch hit for him when we had a chance to tie it? No, that bullpen has to be rested. And Paul Janish has to be sent up there with the bases loaded.
August 29th, 20128:25 pm
Oy is right…. Hanson has been bad…. no fun to watch. Feel sorry for cab and VJ at the game… At least we have more time left to get back in the game, it’s only a 3-run difference, but that Padres ‘pen is really good. If I remember correctly, there are unbeaten (or close to it) when leading after 6 innings.
August 29th, 20128:26 pm
Braves are a 90-100 win team being piloted by a 60-70 win manager.
I doubt you’d see FF PHing with a lefty pitcher up there. Could have brought in Rev.
Really limited with 4 LH and 1 RH on the bench today. Hope FF gets rested today, gonna need him every game the rest of the way it appears.
Whatever happened to the Braves getting extra base hits? When have they become the NY Mets with their walks and singles! Sheesh!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
