Eh, anything less than about a 4.5 does not even get me to move anymore (I still hate them…)
KeyLargo, one of those old 3 finger gloves.

What a Play!
The A Bomb
Janish — what a great pickup.
Great, great play by Yanish!
Citi F. Jones
Don’t know how I feel about that base mic ESPN’s got going on.
Nice job Janish
Citi F. Jones –
VA is a dope…
Keep hanging in there, ncgary
Nice. More please
August 26th, 20129:02 pm
Janish is good…..
Janish was a great fill-in pickup by Wren. Not producing many runs, but definitely saving some!
August 26th, 20129:03 pm
wasnt what i was expecting to here
You and Chop are viewing a Stolen Base the same way as a homer. Like every steal is a meaningful play…
Factor in all the times a player caught stealing, factor in all the times the guy who stole the base is stranded, then factor all the times the batter gets a hit or walks after a runner is thrown out. Overall at the end of the day it doesn’t make that much impact over the course of the season.
or hear for that matter too
Ncgary….i guess you’ve been told less than a yr with your form? I sure am sorry.

BTW I had said Golden Yolk for some absurd reason — it’s the BROKEN YOLK — best breakfast in SD.

That’s a Got Heeeem! at third base.
Four “e”s in Heeeem, people.
Make a note.
Bat offense to start the inning. Good defense to close it.
Name calling on a blog. That’s what a real man (or woman) does.

Lincecum seems to be settling down quite a bit here.
Fat Panda is Fat

Eh, anything less than about a 4.5 does not even get me to move anymore (I still hate them…)
Funny thing about quakes. We had a 5.5 here this spring,Everybody was freaking out…I knew what it was .
Juan – a little better AB that time WOW
That a boy FRANCISCO!!!
BOOM, Francisco with his monster power.
atta boy Juan Francisdough
August 26th, 20129:07 pm
All y’all boo Francisco.
Lincecum did a great job of hitting Francisco’s bat.
That’s his hot zone.
A moonshot homer! Yes sir!
There you go, Roadrunner.
Francisco continued his struggles in that at bat. Haha.
August 26th, 20129:08 pm
Ha! Huddy 2-2!
SS for Huddy!
wooo boy Huddy way to chop that wood
Huddy 2-2. What’s up with him today?
August 26th, 20129:09 pm
Can’t believe some still want that guy off the team, yeah he strikes out alot and is a below average defender but he’s only gonna be making 500k next season and is slugging over 460.. Very easily a good bench piece or half of a platoon.
Francisco’s homer went where Bonds used to hit them, but not a lot of others have. Ball was CRUSHED.
That was hit so far I thought it was an out, if that makes any sense.
Yeah I guess not. Really sorry my friend
Impressive by francisco
August 26th, 20129:10 pm
Huddy just brushed his shoulder off while looking at the bench. Love it
Can Huddy play 2B? Or left field?
VaBravesFan — I just don’t look at him as a starter with his defense and also, he’s lefthanded — too many of those guys.
Bourn – Boooooooooo!!
That is twice Bourn has swung at that pitch that bounced three feet in front of the plate.
August 26th, 20129:11 pm
VaBravesFan – If Francisco follows through on what he said about losing another 15 pounds or so in the offseason, his defense will improve (range) and hitting is something he’s improving on.
I’m all for giving him the shot at 3rd – sure Wren is too.
Wow is Clinton one arrogant old fool.
August 26th, 20129:13 pm
It sure seems like Bourn either goes 4-5 or 0-5, doesn’t it?
Francisco as a everyday player would probably produce around what Dan Uggla did in 2011.
August 26th, 20129:14 pm
Huddy has a higher BA than MAC? That was funny – explains why the bench was messing with him. Of course, Uggla isn’t in the line-up tonight or it could have been really embarrassing.
August 26th, 20129:15 pm
Nice effort, Janish
Juan will most likely be the 3rd basemen next year unless we pick up a left fielder in the offseason, then of course Prado would be the third basemen (if he stays)
August 26th, 20129:17 pm
Hudson throwing 92 mph. wow!!!
T-dawg… Huddy was an outfielder in college and high school
CHOP SHOP – if who stays, Prado? I can’t foresee ANY scenario that would include Prado not being a Brave. He’s due his last year of ARB next year.
August 26th, 20129:18 pm
Nice D, Freddy
August 26th, 20129:19 pm
Keith Law was definitely right about the Dan Uggla extension. A mistake, said Uggla wouldn’t age well and said the last 2 years of the contract would hurt alot. But so far it looks like 4 of the 5 years will look pretty bad.
Only 43 pitches through 4 for Huddy – looking like a long outing for him. Plus he has to stay there if he wants that 4-4
Game progressing well; can’t help but analyze the ‘what if’s,’ per the immediate Psychographic of Mr. Uggla.
August 26th, 20129:20 pm
Animus – Touche’.. a fact I did not know.
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
David from Athens, AL Is McFann ill? Have not seen her post recently!!
Nope! But thank you for asking…:)
August 26th, 20129:21 pm
Hudson broke most of Frank Thomas’s records at Auburn.
A win and not having to see Uggla’s front knee buckle would make this evening quite pleasurable.
Always some loon in the cove hoping for a dinger ball….
August 26th, 20129:22 pm
Prado will be at 3rd next year. It will be much easier to get a power bat in an outfielder than it will be at 3B.
There she is! Where ya been, McFann?
Because they FORGOT TO INCLUDE BULLPENS in the building plans
August 26th, 20129:23 pm
All you guys with a man crush on Michael Bourn should check his batting average and OBP since the All Star game. Less than impressive! He also strikes out way too much for a lead off man. Do you really want to sign this guy to a long term contract at $15 million plus for six or seven years? Check his career stats. Not a supestar! Braves don’t need another Uggla/Lowe type of contract on the books which steals needed money from the bench and the bullpen. There are cheaper alternatives out there. Let Bourn go to the money. McCann will follow him the year after.
“It sure seems like Bourn either goes 4-5 or 0-5, doesn’t it?”
I wish it seemed like he was going 4-5 a lot ….. I just looked up Bourn’s stats; since Jul 4 he’s had 10 games where he got more than 1 hit (Braves are 9-1 in those games). Only 10 games in almost 2 months where he’s had a multi-hit game
All this hate towards Uggla… I mean yea he’s struggling but his occasional bat sure is NICE to have…
Is reed really that slow? Sigh…
In my opinion the most recent labor-management agreement has resulted in huge shifts in player-salary strategies. If you have a lot of money (i.e., are a big market team, you throw “insane money” at a dwindling supply of so-called superior talent. But the union put the brakes on the money you can pay to amatuers and international players. The end result is in finding value with the ‘journeyman’ player who have good resumes. BMAC will attract the high-rollers, and, the Braves would be foolish (relatively speaking) to take the same risk that a Boston, LAD, LAA, NYY, NYM, or either Chicago team. Brian will have surgery during the off-season and may return to his historic levels, but can the Braves afford to pay the inflated “market” value that even an injured McCann would command? The answer is maybe. Declining the option will be fatal. Why? Because in that eventuality, he is, hate the term, publicly “dissed”. The big spenders will not hesitate to tell him and his agent that his off-year is a non-factor. For our Bravos, it will be about money and statistics, but others will readily over-pay him. (Think Boston, who has some $260 million more than they had 6 months ago. Want me to say it again, that is $260 million – off their books – money that they can’t throw at the latest HS or college phenoms, and money that they can’t pay to Dominicans, Arubans, Mexicans, etc.
I understand that I am willing to let one of the last so-called (hate the term) ‘baby Braves’ go. But we survived FanCoer’s leaving’, and nothing in Andrew Jones’ post-Braves career ever came close to justifying a 2-year $36M contract. With due respect (absolutely – hey, I am a 66 year old guy, whose has followed this team daily sincc 1954))to Ms McFann- good business demands that the Braves decline a $12M option on an injured player.

Juan Francisco’s HR in the 4th went 454ft according to ESPN Homerun Tracker…
Juan Francisco’s HR in the 4th went 454ft via our ESPN Homerun Tracker…
Not too shabby.
McCann will a Brave for A LONG time CRM300
August 26th, 20129:25 pm
All this hate toward Uggla…..LOL.
We’re bailing this guy out swinging at crap….
I like baseball players and politicians. I’ll be working the Republican convention this week. Then I’ll go pay a visit to the boys at the Democratic Party Convention next week.
Hey McFann, good to see you
August 26th, 20129:26 pm
damn – freeman tear coming out of left eye, hope eyes are ok

August 26th, 20129:28 pm
Braves will pick up McCann’s option for next year, but he is a Yankee after that.
Uggla is the worst hitting regular in the NL….the season is nearly over.
He did this last year too, minus the 33 game hitting phenomenon.
When is enough enough? Never? Play the guy, no worries, come what may?
August 26th, 20129:29 pm
Cabrera should be disqualified from winning the batting title this season.
Hey, Bat! Thanks. Good to see you, too…
Hey, phil! Just been away from the Blog…
Lincecum is three outs from a quality start.
A Yankee… I doubt that. He would get tore up in the american league.
August 26th, 20129:30 pm
Folks, the Braves aren’t the only only ones with the monkey on the back contract with Uggla. Look at the Giants with Lincecum. How much does he make each year? Put Uggla on waivers and hope the Dodgers will pick him up!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
