I’m more worried about McCann making it worse and needing surgery in the offseason and possibly missing time in 2013. Oh well kinda seems like 13′ will be his last season here. No way I’d give him a long term deal anymore unless its like 4 years 40 million…
Yeah. Agree. We need Mac’s power though so I would DL him.

I’m cool with Janish posting a 565 OPS or whatever. Hell he’s making less than a million and plays great defense.
I’m not cool with Uggla getting 39 million over the next 3 years when he plays barely average defense while floating around the mendoza line and not even slugging 400…

“When Jones showed up Saturday morning, he told Gonzalez he didn’t think he could help the team Saturday.”
WIth playoffs hopes fading, an entire teams fortunes in the balance, memories of off last September’s historic collapse weighing on their minds, now is the time for great leaders to suck it up and lead.
Chipper’s natural talents have never been in question; his leadership by example, for me, will always be what has kept him from being more than a special talent, but a special player.

I’d just rest Uggla twice more this season…maybe three times…August, September, and, if we should get there, October. That ought to hold us until Spring Training when he can show up fit and ready to hit or show up slow and let him go.
I used to marvel at how the “U” guys would always beat the Braves. We had a hard time hitting Ugueth Urbina, and seemed to always have problems getting Chase Utley and Dan Uggla out. Once we traded for Uggla, I thought, “He could never beat us again.”
How wrong I was!

I never said it doesn’t impact the game, I’m saying it doesn’t make as much of a impact as you’d think.
The batter still has to get a hit, also factor in all the times players are caught stealing, then factor in the times a players steals a base but is still stranded. When all is factored the impact is very low.
