If Uggla was the player we payed for he would have 22 HRs 75 RBI and hitting .270
August 23rd, 201211:53 pm
How many pitches has he thrown, Seems like 309
caught a break w/the Panda swinging at a few curves there. maybe he can hold them scoreless this inning. (hoping)
How can a pitcher look so bad while only giving up 1 run thugh 5 innings………But Hanson manages to do so.
The A Bomb
Calling Dr. Andrews…….
August 23rd, 201211:54 pm
Is that ABC baseball? Surely not.
hit and run because Hanson cant hold players on and not he can get players out prepare for a 4-1 loss tonight folks
Wow, are you seriously expecting the Braves to score 1 run?
That’s too much for them!
A bunt hit…….seriously.
Avilan is warming up
That was a beautiful bunt by Pence. Wow, caught EVERY Brave off guard.
Bochy giving lessons.
Hit and run. Bunt. Real baseball.
Gonzalez: “Lucky. I’ll tip my cap to myself for not doing that.”
August 23rd, 201211:55 pm
How many times can Duggla get thrown out tonight? Is there a pool started yet?
Uggla and Yawnish could have spit on each other in that defensive alignment!!!
Why is the bullpen warming up now? Should have been warming up half hour to a hour ago….
Mike Trout will be the 1st 300 million dollar player. When the Yankees buy him in 5 years
can be done, but giving up a homer is harder here tony
good play for pence who has not been hitting much at all
I wish Hanson had better command of the ball.
Pence always comes up big against the Braves no matter how much he is struggling.
the real problem with this team is that 2-3 runs is almost impossible to overcome….our offense doesnt even hit hard outs or hard fouls…everything is a pop up, strikeout, or tapper to an infielder…im not defending hanson…i dont think he should be in this rotation but the REAL problem for this team is offense
vintage hanson game 85 pitches through almost 5 innings.
So, Pence bunts it where there is no defender because the Braves are playing him up the middle. Take note Mr. McCann.
August 23rd, 201211:56 pm
Hanson hanging some pitches and getting away with it
Guess we’re learning how bad walks are the hard way…..
August 23rd, 201211:57 pm
Bunting – something the Braves cannot do at all. As bad as we are at bunting, I really do think that Fredi just skipped that during spring training and hasn’t had any practice on it since. How else can you explain how pathetic we are at bunting?
When it rains it pours, pours, pours and pours a little more.
game is starting to get out of hand
Danger Fredi, Danger Fredi
these clowns are patrhetic.
That should be it….
Should be an error
Good grief. Really, Braves?
August 23rd, 201211:58 pm
And Fredi just sits there as he gets schooled by yet another manager,
good point Trey, with loss of velocity Tommy needs to become a command pitcher. but that is always been one of his weak points.
FREEMAN TRYING TO MAKE IT A FANCY PLAY WITH UNECASARY DIVE. THE GUY HAS NO RANGE AT ALL. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? A ROUTINE PLAY AND WHY IS HANSION IN THE GAME
he was lucky last start out. he should not start again.
and it’s officially out of hand
is freeman awake
Now you can come out Frediiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
going nowhere…as usual.
WHY THE F!!!! WAS HANSON IN THE GAME
Falling behind hurts teams.
definitely BALLGAME!!! now
Jesus Christ Fredi just keep sitting there
Can we double switch by pulling in a new pitcher and let Hanson play second base
August 23rd, 201211:59 pm
PROUD SPONSOR OF YOUR ATLANTA BRAVES.
You can’t pitch up there at 88 mph…………..leave him in now Fredi he’s only given up 5 runs through 4.1 innings….
Whenever Hanson is slated to start, a bullpen guy should be ready to go before the first pitch of the game is even made…
Okay, I was wrong, Hanson can’t shut down this lineup, my bad.
With Cy Young pitching tonight I really don’t like the Braves chances. Oh well, just a game right?
Hanson is no longer warranting of a spot in the rotation. We have five better guys. Delgado might make it six.
Maybe we can get some quotes from the Giant players tonight.
Around The Horn
One batter too late Fredi.
August 24th, 201212:00 am
Surely his days in the rotation are over. Hanson has nothing left at all.
So is anyone gonna watch the Falcons tomorrow night lol

Same story with Tommy Hanson always his last inning is a blow up inning and it is the 5th or the 6th.
they lose tonight that lead in the top wild card spot starts getting uncomfortable
August 24th, 201212:01 am
nolie, exactly. Control is a pitcher’s best friend, unless you can throw it 100 MPH, and scare the batter.
This is exactly how this team played last September.
Hello everyone! I think you can take Hanson out now, and call it ballgame!!!!!!
Mr. Bruce Bochy is taking Mr. Fredi Gonzalez to “school” tonight and revealing his total ineptitude and lack of baseball savvy. Every camera shot into the dugout, Mr. Gonzalez looks like he has lost his last friend, and knows he is “whipped” in the intelligence department. I look for him not to “tip his cap” tonight but actually “bow” to his superior mentor.
“you cant pitch up there at 88mph”
unless your zito
and your pitching to the braves
and you actually throw 85
Well I think Sheets is the 5th starter by default.
August 24th, 201212:02 am
We have a hard time watching him pitch – Imagine how it’d be standing out there in the field waiting on a strike. Only one on his toes is BMac because he has to drop and block about every third pitch.
One positive take on this game. According to our genius manager, these games in August are an audition for rotation spots. If so, Hanson just put his name on a chair in the bullpen.
is freeman awake – kelevra
With the five minutes that elapses after Tommy winds up and before he throws the ball he probably dozed off.
Nah, we have to tip our caps to the Giant hitters tonight, I mean they hit the 87 MPH fastball and we just couldnt seem to dial it up for the 83 MPH fastball.
Ballgame. I knew that they wouldn’t play well tonight, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad.
Braves should have at least sent Hanson ahead of the team to be well rested, and ready to take the mound.
Chalk this one up in the L column, and take the next 3.
Good night all.
Okay guys, it’s been a long day and there is absolutely no friggin way the Braves are gonna come back from this Hanson travesty. All I can hope for is that this worthless red piece of shyt gets sent to the bullpen to ply his wares. Hey Boras, here’s another one of your dogs that can’t pitch for shyt. It would be worth missing the playoffs to see if Fredi can get fired for his team’s uninspired play. I’m outta here.
Fredi should have pitch hit for Hanson but he wanted him to go 5 now it has cost us at least 4 runs
August 24th, 201212:03 am
Joe making jet lag type excuses.
Long time Braves fan in San Francisco
Nothing worse than getting heckled by some idiot Giants fans. Freddie Freeman must have gotten drink on the flight from Washington. Two strikeouts…..terrible fielding.
The hottie from Atlanta just told me, “I don’t know about this Freddie Freeman”!
And I paid $140 for two tickets to see this?
Time to make an early exit home. Starting to get a little cold. Ain’t like we’re going to start hitting Cy Zito tonight anyway.
Can’t believe the Braves can’t hit against Zito? He’s not that great……Oh, well it rains it poors tonight, and not much you can do, but keep watching, and go down with the Braves like I will.
This Braves team is following the same path as last season. The late August slump where nobody hits with runners on base and they consistently fall behind early in the game.
Oh my goodness
Here we go with the getting in late excuse
here comes joe’s excuses
I keep telling you hitting, hitting and running and laying some down has better results than the ridiculous swing-for-the-fence nonsense, despite what the new stats say.
Fredi Gonzalez baseball, which I cannot describe, has its limits. I’ll never be convinced otherwise.
August 24th, 201212:04 am
HITTING OVER .300 LAST 10 GAMES IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH..braves yadda yadda
how bout 5-24 for his most recent 7 games and zero for his last 12 ABs?
. who the hell cares what he did 10 games ago moron?
I really dont want Hanson in the Bull-pen either…..Remember to be a good bull-pen pitcher you have to be able to somewhat hold runners on
“With the five minutes that elapses after Tommy winds up and before he throws the ball he probably dozed off.”
What? Sorry, I dozed off too.
eleven baserunners in four innings. nice job big red.
Wow….way to make a case to stay in the rotation, Tommy. (and way to back up your talk with pitching.)
August 24th, 201212:05 am
Hanson, you just can’t count on. Not consistant, and not consistant to go to the bullpen. I wouldn’t trust him in the bullpen right now?
Hanson need to be kilt and buried under the mound….
Good night all, try not to go too crazy.
August 24th, 201212:06 am
Before I go, I have to thank Chip Caray. I was waiting for someone to blame the long trip out west as the reason why the Braves suck bad and Chip just showed what a dumbass he really is. You don’t make excuses for this team!
Jet lag seriously……Your gonna play the Jet lag card???????
You do know in the West they are 3 hours BEHIND!!!!!
so to recap
during a playoff race
fredi benches our best hitter
puts in our coldest hitters
while pitching our worst pitcher
against a guy we already struggle against
does that about cover it
Here is Candidate #1 for going to the bullpen when we return to the sanity of a 5-man rotation. I’m glad our starters are getting their rest. I believe we’re about to be 2-5 since starting this.
Well, we will have to shake this one off tonight! It will sting , but we will have to shake it off.
Three walks, two stolen bases, a ouple of hit-and-runs, a well-placed bunt. The Giants are good at playing small ball, and yet so many bloggers here say how worthless it is. Seems to be working quite well for SF for the past couple years.
Ric Flair to Right
Like I said, THIS TEAM WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!
Anybody gonna take that bet?
August 24th, 201212:07 am
Hanson just needs to be DLed for the rest of the season, then maybe he could talk with that sports psychiatrist that helped Smoltz out.
goodness playing winning teams sure can get destroy your confidence as a team. Just a few more games left and they won’t have to play these unfair games against team over .500
Hanson: 4-1/3 IP, 7 H, 5 R (4 ER), 3 BB, 4 K. Threw 52 strikes in 94 pitches.
Seems to me the Giants played later last night and had to fly as well.
other then the fact, he has zero trade value other then if the red door tavern would trade him to the five paces inn.
he is really good at that..
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
