One of the reasons Medlen was in the pen this year was because he’s coming off of Tommy John. It’s the same with the Nats limiting Strasburg’s innings, except the Braves had more need for Medlen in the bullpen anyway with depth in the rotation. It made sense all the way around at the time.
Hey, phil, my son is liking law school so far, although they are still pretty much taking care of administrative stuff. I sure do miss him.

i bet you do! Glad he’s liking it.
At least the Braves are into their bullpen. Still lacking clutch hitting (one time doesn’t count). Oh well, Meds holds them here and the offense can start next inning.
come on Meds – this is where Medlen can really step up as a starter and as a clutch pitcher. Big series, in danger of being swept, bases loaded and 1 out
Folks as far as I’m concerned, you’re looking at the 2013 Brave opening day starter. Dude just wins.
If they put him back in the bullpen, the entire staff should be fired. Somebody needs to be traded to make room for Medlen in the rotation.
It’s really that simple.
His command of all of his pitches, the fact that he sits at 89-92, and isn’t afraid to throw breaking balls and off-speed pitches in ANY count to ANY hitter….
Closest thing we’ve seen to Maddux since…… Maddux.
Not saying he’s going to win 300 games and be in the HOF.
I am saying he will be the Braves best starting pitcher for the next 2 or 3 years if given the chance.
Liberty Media in the black, Uggla in the black, radio/tv announcers are homers, Wren and Freddie make more than most of us combined- meanwhile we’re asked to watch another ho-hum season. Let the Yanks have ‘em.

DETWILER
I like the fact that the Braves took the smile off of Detwiler’s face tonight.
He was all smiles the last game — and used his smile to show the Braves up.
He’s not smiling now!

CREATING RUNS
With one out why didn’t Fredi try something creative to get the run in — like a safety squeeze?
He had a speedy runner on third in Jason.
