We have a rain delay, I believe it is really raining tonight. Rain delay programing is really bad,it would be better if Joe and Chip talked baseball like CUBBIE announcers do.
August 21st, 20127:56 pm
BM made a mental error against a hitter he should be studying like a book,/i>
Yeah – tell off that cabravesfan – she knows nothing about baseball…
August 21st, 20127:57 pm
if the Strasburg dont comeback after the rain , it´s not a break for the braves because they will bring Gorzelanny or Lannan to pitch… and that sucks because they are lefties….it´s worst than Strasburg…
it´s better if they will send Strasburg back and then he hurts his arm
August 21st, 20127:58 pm
WAS is really good. I am going to root for DAVEY, ADAM , and MARK in playoffs. DAVEY should have been our MGR.
August 21st, 20128:01 pm
If the Braves are lucky it will rain until Friday and they can slip out of DC only 6 games out. Fredi needs to man up and sit Uggla for at least a couple of games.Maybe he will make some adjustments if he knows there are some repercussions for his dismal production this year. His hot second half has never materialized this year .
8:00 so on to LITTLE LEAGUE baseball.
don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out George. go root for the Nats and stay there
August 21st, 20128:02 pm
@george: hey , davey johnson it´s the manager who forced Roberto Alomar to donate money to his wife charity after Alomar spit the umpire???? Davey Johnson personality sucks…
August 21st, 20128:03 pm
Delayed realization of McFanning… at me…
August 21st, 20128:07 pm
Do y’all know DAVEY holds the record for most HRs in a season for the BRAVES?
August 21st, 20128:08 pm
for a 2ND BASEMAN
August 21st, 20128:09 pm
Except that he doesn’t
@george: you are stupid,,,Andruw Jones have the record with 50 HR in 2005
Ok- added the “for a 2nd baseman” in there..BIG difference
August 21st, 20128:10 pm
Looks like Strasburg might be able to squeeze in 1 extra start than previously thought before he gets shut down!
Look Out Underneath
Here’s a question and I promise I know the answer–True or False None of the responses starting on page 4 of the blog have been from Lou? Another question and a multiple choice–On Page 3 of the blog name one post that was Lou’s?
August 21st, 20128:11 pm
lol yes for 2nd baseman yes i know that …but what do you want with that??? Johnson gonna play the second base with his 80 years old????
And Andruw Jones actually had 51 in 2005, but who’s counting? And why should facts actually affect what’s posted?
Little leaguer just said his FAV player is MELKY, that is sad.
And you’re stupid too meeee….. Andruw hit 51 HR
August 21st, 20128:12 pm
George: Ain’t gonna happen. Reminds me of all the silly features the Olympics got into a few years back and removed the fans from the contests. This is lazy TV. You want t pack fans into the stand, stay on air and talk about needed trades, trades made, players that are scuffling, injury reports, games remaining, etc. Don’t know if this is the fault of the hosts or poor programming, but as soon as I see the tarp coming out, I change channels.
August 21st, 20128:14 pm
Fortunately the Little League World Series is on tonight. check out ESPN 2 or 3.
August 21st, 20128:15 pm
@theonlybravesfan: hey it´s george your boyfriend or lover????
YES! Stolen bases rock!
Bakersfield Blaze @BakoBlaze
Billy Hamilton has just set the ALL TIME MINOR LEAGUE RECORD for stolen bases with 146! Congrats to former Blaze @b_ham_3 !!
BREAKING: @Reds Minor League SS Billy Hamilton steals 146th base, breaking Vince Coleman’s pro baseball record set in 1983.
Kilgore Community Junior College
August 21st, 20128:16 pm
TOBF–What JUCO do you attend?? I’m guessing JUCO. It’s not the University of Phoenix? can you get home schooled for college? One good thing about being home schooled is you can take your mom to the prom.
maholm gonna come back out and pitch?
August 21st, 20128:18 pm
Lou or some other tard is back… can’t they just leave me alone?
I can’t see how you regular bloggers make it…
he should DEEZY if the braves dont want a HR derby with Sheets or Hanson pitching
August 21st, 20128:21 pm
but for be honest i prefer Hanson over Sheets…for unknown reasons the braves wins when Hanson is pitching…
This will save Starsburg a few innings.
Nice to see the super classy comments showing up…
August 21st, 20128:22 pm
what is the forecast for DC.
Brian from SC
August 21st, 20128:23 pm
they will bring Gorzelanny or Lannan to pitch
Not Lannan, unless they made a new rule to be able to call up a player from AAA during a game. Gorzelanny pitched one inning last night.
@ace: believe me, it´s better face Strasburg than Gorzelanny (possible pitcher after delay)
August 21st, 20128:24 pm
it is what it is
Maybe Chipper can play after the rain delay.
Coach (2012 Fredi's Beisbol Fandango)
August 21st, 20128:25 pm
Washington 1- Atlanta 0 with you know who pitching…………BALLGAME!
According to radar, looks like the rain has moved out of DC Metro area.
August 21st, 20128:26 pm
@BRIAN FROM SC: Gorzelanny pitched one inning last night.
and?? Stammen is the other long reliever pitcher by the nats and he pitched 2 innings last night, plus Gorzelanny it´s starter pitcher , one inning relieved it´s nothing
David O’Brien @ajcbraves
They’re folding up the tarp. Rizzo has been down on the field consulting with grounds crew and umpires
August 21st, 20128:27 pm
Hats of to Billy Hamilton, I wish he were a Brave.
Any reason why a GM would be talking with ground crews and umpires?
Strasburg is tossing in right field
August 21st, 20128:28 pm
Welcome to the wonders of DC weather forecasting!
So,for argument’s sake, let’s assume the Braves clinch a wild card with enough time to set their pitching the way they want it. You will need 1 pitcher to hopefully get you into the NLDS and probably a 3-4 man rotation for the best of 5 series. I haven’t looked at the exact schedule, but would assume the wild card pitcher probably wouldn’t be able to come back for a NLDS game (maybe a later game depending on off days and such). At any rate, how would you set up the pitching rotation?
August 21st, 20128:29 pm
@Ace……accordingy, syn. w/Dark & Cloudy…..Ha, ha—-how you tonite Mr. Ace?
lol ..maybe we gonna see Strasburg hurting his arm tonight!!!!!
August 21st, 20128:30 pm
TOBF: seems to me your primary function for participating in this blog is to see what you don’t like and make condescending remarks like you are so above the fray. That’s when you are good. Otherwise, you snark and spit critical vitriol at others.
Whether they are right or wrong, your condescension and need to subjugate others in order to make yourelf feel superior is strictly school yard psychosis.
Why don’t you do yourself first, the rest of us (”ally” or “foe”) second, a favor. If you really think we are all that stupid and so beneath your dignity, do something else with your life that will bring you more joy and less grief than having to “put up” with us.
This is a forum for opinions, good or bad. I make it my policy to NEVER get personal or nasty with anyone, as there is where the true ignorance and misanthropy lies. We agree to disagree, but never disrespect another for their views. If you can’t handle that, you have BIGGER personal issues than just the content in this blog with which you don’t see eye to eye.
Or am I being obtuse?
August 21st, 20128:31 pm
August 21st, 2012
ACE, maybe DOB could ask Chipper why he hasn’t checked in after this rest break?
August 21st, 20128:32 pm
what time do they start carroll
August 21st, 20128:33 pm
But it’s okay to snark and spit critical vitriol at Frank Wren?
Not obtuse but overreacting?
August 21st, 20128:34 pm
mlb why would you wish something like that?
while i disrespect chipper i dont wish injury or suffering on anyone
thats just callous
August 21st, 20128:35 pm
This game was over before it began…
Game is now resuming…
AAAAAAND…nothing! Just stating a fact.
August 21st, 20128:36 pm
And doesn’t look like Prado was ready for it to begin…..
Don’t bother watching this game. Last night will leave a hangover into the rest of this game. No way they put it behind them. It was devastating to lose last night. It rendered the possibility of catching Wash. to basically 0.
These two games remaining are virtually meaningless as far as the division goes. Just win one at least and move on. There is no division title in sight anymore. It’s been over for a while….last night just nailed it shut. Its over.
Maybe a one game playoff for this team….but no more than that. The offense is still the issue. Can’t win against good teams because the offense sputters to often. Face it honestly and just play on. Nothing to do but accept the inevitable.
Nice to see the super classy comments showing up…
I know…. they’re quite enjoyable
August 21st, 20128:37 pm
Sad..not even a swing…
At least you have faith, dawg88!
August 21st, 20128:38 pm
Both managers trying to save the pens I guess…. first time in a while that I can remember pitchers going back out after a rain delay that was nearly an hr long.
@MiaBchBravesFan…….As per above remarks….Some folks don’t respect themselves and hurt badly inside–you know all this; and, regretfully they delight in putting others to the curb. The fact that you were compelled to address this person(s) in the aforementioned paragraph is an all to frequent behavioral issue—really sad.
August 21st, 20128:40 pm
another good play by Janish
MiaBchBravesFan, well said. Holds true for many here, as well.
August 21st, 20128:43 pm
Looks like the gNats have the Keystone Kops of Groundskeepers.
Last night, pulled out the tarp and waited through 30 minutes of rain before deciding to roll it out.
Tonite, start the game w/out the field being ready.
Dirt just looks terrible – needed way too much quick-dry.
August 21st, 20128:44 pm
Hello Capt. Good day here, hope yours is too.
Maybe it’s good Fredi ignored OBF’s calls to rest Janish tonight…
August 21st, 20128:45 pm
Phil, You know DOB hates rain delays and extras. Causes conflicts with his beauty sleep.
August 21st, 20128:47 pm
Yes, like telling a Braves player to go to hell is the epitome of class…
Fredi is right tonight VJ…. but of course, being the homer I am, I’ll say that Pastornicky coulda made those plays
Rest Janish tomorrow with Medlen pitching
Can’t help Strasburg out, swing at strikes.
ACE, i’m confident he hates you more…lol
August 21st, 20128:48 pm
The changeup that kid has is totally unfair.
Braves will get swepted in the Nations Capital!
Strasburg is nasty..
ACE, old buddy… try it… the beauty sleep, that is.
August 21st, 20128:49 pm
Wait….We have Dan Ugla on our side. He will save the day!
August 21st, 20128:51 pm
Yes he is nasty we take strikes and swing at a ball. They switch pitchers for tomorrow no we cant hit a lefty . Heres Uggla another K.
That wild card lead of ours doesn’t exactly look stout….
And neither does Uggla.
Impact Player. All Star. $13 million per year, and he’s ours through 2015! Dan Uggla.
August 21st, 20128:52 pm
It is the nature of all ATL pro sports teams. They simply cannot–and never have been able to–seize the moment, step into the spotlight, shine on the national stage, go for the kill, win the big one, catch the eyes of the nation, etc. Lone exception in nearly a half-century: ‘95 Braves.
Now in the throes of yet another untimely losing streak (albeit only a 3-gamer), it certainly doesn’t appear at this point that the 2012 Braves will be able to overcome the dark and troubled history of this city’s pro sports franchises; i.e., ONE championship in 155 seasons of competition.
What a piece of garbage for a hitter Uggly is!
Dan Uggla for MVP!!!
Time to say goodbye
Worst signing? Uggla or Kaminishi?
August 21st, 20128:53 pm
We swing at stuff that bounces up there and take strikes down the middle?
Uggla, is a loser
raleighbravesfan: get over yourself….deal with it, silly child.
raleighbravesfan: learn to spell, my friend, before you speak to me. I guess being an ignorant prick is how you roll. Sorry about your self-esteem issues; get help, sonny, you need it
Yeah, I’m a bad guy for getting irritated by spammers.
Somebody better read the riot act to these guys between innings because it looks like they are deep in the dumps. Most of them look like zombies up at the plate. I have a very bad feeling about what is going to happen after last night. Somebody yell FIRE and wake this crew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hurry before its too late.
Who? Did I miss something?
Brian McCann: if you were going to just watch Strasburg throw strikes, you really should have purchased a ticket.
Kevin McAlpin @KevinMcAlpin
No RT @JoshNooromid: Do you think that there is possibility Uggla would get dropped or Traded with his horrible numbers this year?
August 21st, 20128:54 pm
Do declined faster? Francouer or McCann?
braves have not scored last 13 innings
Yeah McCann, keep waiting, maybe the ball will hit itself for a double!!!
These guys are useless when it matters most.
Dawgnole speaking words of wisdom and truth, unfortunately…
Nice effort by Mac there.
AND THE TYPICAL BRAVES CHOKE HAS STARTED!!!
Mac and Uggla need to be separated in the line up.
We look so damn pathetic…oops darn
When Uggla makes an out the blog goes crazy; when McCann strikes out looking on three pitches the blog is silent….Hmm
August 21st, 20128:55 pm
I already forgot what his name was. KK?
