DOB even though they lost I think it was a good game… they almost came back to tie it up and if the braves lose all I want to see is effort instead of giving in….. GO BRAVES!!
As For the Game, Last Night, I turned it off in the 6th inning…Decent comeback that was aided by Francisco…
I couldn’t tolerate the BSPN Commentators….
And what a suprise we sucked again on National TV…Better start wearing the socks high when we are either on FAUX or BSPN…Maybe we need to start sacrificing things when before we play a game that is on National TV
Heyward since the start of the Houston series: .194/.256/.417(9 games, 39 PA’s)
I’d say it’s time to give Jason a little breather tonight or tomorrow. I think Fredi had mentioned that he wanted to do so and one of the next two games vs. a LHP would make some sense.
The wife asked me something last night that I thought was telling. She said, “does it affect the Braves when they are on national TV? Are they more nervous playing on Sunday night?’
I didn’t have an answer for her but there were some bats that sure came up “small” last night.
Chipper, swinging early in the count except for the final walk.
Uggla, looking like the Uggla without a clue with the bat we have grown to love over the past few months.
And Heyward. JHey has been playing well but good grief, his AB’s last night were pathetic.
I swear, my exact words to the wife when he came to bat in the ninth were, “games over honey. Heyward will strike out swinging. And so he did.
If Heyward gets two strikes in a game situation late, he is going to K. Seen that movie lots. Last night wasn’t a surprise.
If Heyward doesn’t strike out in the first and Chipper doesn’t hit into the DP with the first two men in the inning on base, could have been a different game.
Glad to see Freeman punishing the ball.
Sheets was bound to come back to earth sometime. Hope last night was just a stinker that everyone has to throw during a season. The Braves need him to be “real” if they are going to contend.
Today is another day and another team. The Braves just have to keep plugging.
But my wife’s question is still resonating with me. Do the Braves have trouble playing in the NATIONAL spotlight?
If Heyward gets two strikes in a game situation late, he is going to K. Seen that movie lots. Last night wasn’t a surprise.
I’m not sure about game situation, but it does seem like Heyward is a goner when he has two strikes on him lately. Seems like a K is the only scenario with him when he’s down in the count. His strikeouts are bizarre. 115 in 407 at bats.
Do the Braves have trouble playing in the NATIONAL spotlight?
The answer is “no”, so now you and your wife will be able to sleep easily.
Considering how many bizarro concepts posters here have concocted, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that “bad TV juju” is among them. But asking Brian to research the games to disprove the fallacy would be giving such a notion much more shrift than it deserves. Have mercy.
Huge homer last night for Freeman. Glad he’s coming around. Was it me or does it look like Heyward needs a day off? That throwing ‘error’ could’ve easily been charged to Janish for missing the ball entirely but ok. Heyward didn’t look as sharp last night at the plate thing its time for a breather and get himself together.
Everybody is a goner with two strikes, especially down in the count.
That’s fair, but the K’s aren’t a little bizarre to you? I don’t mind them overall, however it’s just a strange trend since he moved up to the 3-hole – 215 K pace over 162 games.

Situational hitting is waiting a pitch out and going to the opposite field when a simple base hit will do. Heyward needs to learn situational hitting, to wait a pitch out, to go to the opposite field in a critical at-bat…
Very much like Prado did.

Heyward looking Uggla-esque tonight. Gotta have more contact from a 3-hole hitter. Time to return Chipper to his old spot, with Freddie at cleanup.

Well, we can’t afford to lose when the Nats win. And we can’t afford to lose when they lose. Guess we gotta win ‘em all.
Props to Mike for a succinct and pinpoint summary of the “realists” attitude prevalent here.

Better Handle The Padres This week…Gotta go 3-1
As For the Game, Last Night, I turned it off in the 6th inning…Decent comeback that was aided by Francisco…
I couldn’t tolerate the BSPN Commentators….
And what a suprise we sucked again on National TV…Better start wearing the socks high when we are either on FAUX or BSPN…Maybe we need to start sacrificing things when before we play a game that is on National TV

18 Years ago yesterday the 1994 strike started…No way the Braves would’ve caught the 1994 Expos much like we are not catching the Curley W’s This year

I’m not sure about game situation, but it does seem like Heyward is a goner when he has two strikes on him lately. Seems like a K is the only scenario with him when he’s down in the count. His strikeouts are bizarre. 115 in 407 at bats.

Have mercy.

Everybody is a goner with two strikes, especially down in the count.

I think the Braves simply lost the third game of a series they won against the Mets in the Mets’ park.

That’s fair, but the K’s aren’t a little bizarre to you? I don’t mind them overall, however it’s just a strange trend since he moved up to the 3-hole – 215 K pace over 162 games.

Aren’t they 24-9 in their last 33 games? I’m okay with them losing once and a while. Just gotta bounce back. And they have lately.

Come on, one loss? The expectation is for series’ sweeps? Err, just a bit unrealistic?
The Braves have been winning series. That’s the key.
