A lose is lose. It too bad Jason Heyward decided not to show up tonight. This is a really bad lost. for so many reason. Overall 4-2 series was a a bad job by the Braves
Apparently you have never seen Martinez pitch or you would not post the same stupid comment again – seriously, are you just trying to pretend you have some knowledge of the game?
These are the kind of losses that hurt. You have a chance to gain a game against the gNats against an average pitcher. For eight innings, you make him look like an All Star. When it matters most, you fall short.
These are the telling losses moreso than the wins, folks. This lineup better get a clue. And Uggla? Still lost in the woods (his at-bats were HORRIBLE tonight!).
JHey struggling the last couple of days, would have preferred almost any other Brave in that position. Oh well, at least they didn’t phone it in the ninth, would have been easy to do. Great road trip Braves!
Bringing in Martinez was not a mistake. Stuff happens. The lineup lost this game tonight with a horrible hitting approach against a very average pitcher, not like the “superstar” we faced last Saturday against the Astros.
Pretty uninspired effort on a night when the Braves would’ve gained a game in the standings.
@Venice Jim you have a new pitcher who is brought in you have the the tie run at 3rd and the go ahead run at 2nd. Heyward should have lay off the first pitch that he saw as well as the last pitch. He should look at what Prado did. Prado did not try to hit a HR but instead he try to get a base hit. Heyward should have done the same.
Hopefully they’ll show Jhey the film of the AB and explain: Be patient here, make him throw strikes. Don’t be too anxious. You have a HOF on the on-deck circle. Stay within yourself…
He’ll learn. Can’t blame him at 23 for wanting to be a hero!
Afterall he wasn’t the only one with 2 Ks
Want to blame something. Blame mental errors by Martinez not holding the runner and Bourn for not throwing to home.
Some of you may not mind waiting 17 more…that’s fine (for you.)
I’m sick of it.
I was just 11months old at that time, and couldn’t have cared about the Braves at that time, and I’m willing to wait. Though I have to say, if we can find a way to beat Washington (which I think we can) in the regular season and playoffs, I really really like our chances to get to the WS.
