Wow – very good AB for Juan – making it a little interesting – bases still loaded, no hits and the Braves have scored.
Never easy is it ?
Can we find Hank Aaron and give him a bat right now?
Come on Bourn.
That is your comeback. You are sad.
August 12th, 201210:44 pm
Can we tie it up without a hit?
August 12th, 201210:45 pm
Come on Michael.
August 12th, 201210:46 pm
Well, now we see how Atlanta can win. Just don’t swing.
Didn’t throw at him, but scared the ***** outta Bourn – 2 runs, still no hits.
August 12th, 201210:47 pm
Damn, has this team ever won a nationally -televised game? No wonder they don’t get much respect…
I’ve never seen anybody take a walk quite like that.
Okay, they’re trying to give it to us, let’s take it.
Come on Martin.
Only 3 walks to go.
If anyone can….we can.
Double and Bourn scores
Don’t go down on three pitches.
August 12th, 201210:48 pm
Whatever that pitching coach said – worked.
Until that pitch
It aint over till its over……
August 12th, 201210:49 pm
Heyward needs to walk and let Chipper beat NY one last time, in his last at-bat in NY.
Remember earlier in the 9th, runners at 1st & 2nd, nobody out, and Uggla whiffs on 3 pitches? I do.
This one is on FG if the loss. NO EOF in the 8th and they gave up the run unreal
that missed run in the first … looming huge
I might have sent Bourn to make them make a perfect throw…………
There’s a reason we play until the 27th out…
See if JHey can hit a long one.
This is where superstars thrive and get to be known as superstars
Get it done JHEY
Here we go! Getting funky now!!! Ayyyeeeee!!!
Oh no….not Big John Roush.
Whatever J Hey does this has been fun
August 12th, 201210:50 pm
It’s gonna be even worse now if they don’t at least tie it up and go to extras.
Okay, who gave up that sixth run to the Mets?
I’d rather lose 20-0 to the Astros than this game by one run.
“Chipper beat NY one last time, in his last at-bat in NY”
that’s not until Sep 9
August 12th, 201210:51 pm
Bourns throw to 2B when it should’ve went home is looming larger.
Maybe we can overcome both
JHey has not looked good tonight.
The only group this is fun for is the team with a 4.5 game lead in the division.
Heyward has to come through right here. He’s o’fer for the night. He’s due. Just needs a single. Doesn’t have to kill it.
Seems like he’s always facing a new pitcher in these type of situations, which appear to put him at a disadvantage.
Utter nonsense and garbage…
Sure you would Bitchell, but you’d also bitch about allowing 20 runs to the Astros. Jerk.
Gave up the run in the 8th because the pitcher didn’t pay attention to a base runner, and Bourn threw to second base instead of home.
Not FG’s fault.
Settle down and hit strikes
August 12th, 201210:52 pm
Just a single J-Heyyyyyyyyy
ds1 u gotta get on twitter man….
August 12th, 201210:53 pm
That was ball 3 Jason….Come on!
August 12th, 201210:54 pm
Damn -made it entertaining, that 6th run really ended up hurting the team.
much f’n later!
Dang it Hey… Nice almost comeback though. They didn’t die.
What a way to lose.
Mitchell, you can stop responding and have everyone think you are an idiot, or keep commenting and remove all doubt.
FG why not EOF in the 8th you dumbass
August 12th, 201210:55 pm
Heyward ends the game with a hat trick…Rauch did not throw Heyward a strike that entire at bat….
well at least the tease is over, need to sweep the Pads and put some pressure back on the Nats
Jhey should’ve ran at the first baseman there. Perfectly legal since he would’ve been in the running lane.
close but no ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegar
if jhey was running in the running lane I don’t think they can make that throw
Have fun, idjiots.
Heyward was not going all out to first in my opinion.
August 12th, 201210:56 pm
Can’t have a worse at bat than Heyward just had…he swung at three pitches out of the zone..just dumb.
mixxo – not later enough…
You guys aren’t really gonna trash Fredi for using Martinez (era 3.70 coming in) in the 8th inning of a 6-1 game, are you?
Heyward looked horrible all night.
There wasn’t one (1) strike in that whole sequence.
Or is that all part of the “growing process” for Jason and the other young Braves?
Of course he would strike out.
That one hurts.
Jason looked like he was barely busting it out of the box to start – and if he was, very easily could have been safe.
August 12th, 201210:57 pm
A lose is lose. It too bad Jason Heyward decided not to show up tonight. This is a really bad lost. for so many reason. Overall 4-2 series was a a bad job by the Braves
August 12th, 2012
Apparently you have never seen Martinez pitch or you would not post the same stupid comment again – seriously, are you just trying to pretend you have some knowledge of the game?
“Heyward looked horrible all night.”
only 2 minutes … not much later
August 12th, 201210:58 pm
“Whatever J Hey does this has been fun” BF54
Yes, you are.
Heyward was trying to hit the ball out of the park on every swing he took. He’s got to be better than that at understanding the situation.
August 12th, 201210:59 pm
These are the kind of losses that hurt. You have a chance to gain a game against the gNats against an average pitcher. For eight innings, you make him look like an All Star. When it matters most, you fall short.
These are the telling losses moreso than the wins, folks. This lineup better get a clue. And Uggla? Still lost in the woods (his at-bats were HORRIBLE tonight!).
JHey struggling the last couple of days, would have preferred almost any other Brave in that position. Oh well, at least they didn’t phone it in the ninth, would have been easy to do. Great road trip Braves!
It too bad Jason Heyward decided not to show up tonight
Yes, he decided he didn’t care tonight – he wanted to make out and lose. Really, do you enjoy being totally moronic?
Not a good game for Heyward tonight. Lefty got him off balance early, and he was not able to recover.
Uggla hits lefties as bad as a lefty hitter.
Very frustrationg game tonight. Braves did not play crisp baseball, and they let too many opportunities slip by.
August 12th, 201211:00 pm
Anything short of a 162-0 record, then 11-0 in the post season would be somehow disappointing to some on here.
Later fans. Tomorrow is another day.
August 12th, 201211:01 pm
hey look I was right…again
Mixxo and Mitchell,
Typical classless commenters
August 12th, 201211:02 pm
I know, but in their minds, he should’ve used Kimbrel to “keep it close”
We didn’t lose any ground in the NL East standings tonight, it’s not that bad.
Bringing in Martinez was not a mistake. Stuff happens. The lineup lost this game tonight with a horrible hitting approach against a very average pitcher, not like the “superstar” we faced last Saturday against the Astros.
Pretty uninspired effort on a night when the Braves would’ve gained a game in the standings.
August 12th, 201211:03 pm
@Venice Jim you have a new pitcher who is brought in you have the the tie run at 3rd and the go ahead run at 2nd. Heyward should have lay off the first pitch that he saw as well as the last pitch. He should look at what Prado did. Prado did not try to hit a HR but instead he try to get a base hit. Heyward should have done the same.
Mixxo – reporting time – hopefully you get thrown out of here, you disgusting human being…
Ahhhh! Someone help me! I’m drowning in a pool of idiots.
Yes CTB we didn’t give up and we are gonna catch the nats and then the real fun begins
mixxo – if its so bad then leave like you have been saying you would…promise you wont be missed
August 12th, 201211:04 pm
MIXXO – come after me, you sick little baby…
Mixxo, son, you are pathetic.
Keep going, you swine – we’ll miss you after you are gone…
August 12th, 201211:05 pm
Hopefully they’ll show Jhey the film of the AB and explain: Be patient here, make him throw strikes. Don’t be too anxious. You have a HOF on the on-deck circle. Stay within yourself…
He’ll learn. Can’t blame him at 23 for wanting to be a hero!
Afterall he wasn’t the only one with 2 Ks
Want to blame something. Blame mental errors by Martinez not holding the runner and Bourn for not throwing to home.
17 years folks….SEVENTEEN f’n YEARS!
Some of you may not mind waiting 17 more…that’s fine (for you.)
I’m sick of it.
I was just 11months old at that time, and couldn’t have cared about the Braves at that time, and I’m willing to wait. Though I have to say, if we can find a way to beat Washington (which I think we can) in the regular season and playoffs, I really really like our chances to get to the WS.
August 12th, 201211:06 pm
Mixxo, son, why don’t you go to Philly, they are your in your class.
August 12th, 201211:07 pm
Two (negative) things coming out of this game: Teams starting to dust off the scouting reports on Sheets and Uggla is still overmatched.
Two positives: Maybe Venters is back to 2011 form. This team will fight to the last at bat..
mark – thats a pretty good encapsulation (at least of those 2 points) with chipper on deck against the mets you have to be thinking just get on base
if bourn throws home they probably wouldn’t even have sent the runner
August 12th, 201211:08 pm
If the Braves are turning on each other like the bloggers the dressing room is in shambles by now.
Holy Cow Guys
It must be wonderful to live in “la la land” and a “dream world” like TOBF does every day.
Mixxo, son, try to grow up.
August 12th, 201211:09 pm
Woah there Mixxo, watch it…. I am actually gonna report you now… you really stepped in it son.
Mixxo, you’re out of here! Ejected!
August 12th, 201211:10 pm
Mixxo told me he is easy to find. He said he will be getting off one of the short busses on the first day of school.
Heyward the guy did not throw you 1 strike.
August 12th, 201211:12 pm
got quiet quickly
TuffStuff – sorry not everyone was rooting for the Mets tonight…
I have a son that was eligible to ride a short bus but he doesn’t behave like that.
As for Uggla, he was obviously auditioning for the Yankees tonight, maybe some scouts there. That would reunite him with him buddy, DLo.
August 12th, 201211:13 pm
Ok everyone, I just talked with Mixxo’s parents and they are restricting his computer access for the next week. So, one fewer idiot online for the next series.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
