No able to watch the game tonight. Medlen must be dealing like Maholm did last night. The kid knows how to pitch….just like Maholm does. The Braves almost wasted him in the pen this year. He is not just a starter for the rest of the year….he will be a starter in the playoffs if he continues to pitch this well. But let’s see how he pitches in the 6th and 7th. He still is not used to pitching this many innings. Go Braves.

Lynchburg SS Nick Ahmed stole his 35th base tonight. Also had two hits.
Danville LHP Carlos Perez with 4 more Ks. He’s back on track once he was sent down to work on his delivery. Rome rotation next year could look real good with Lucas Sims, Mauricio Cabrera, Luis Merejo and Carlos Perez….

Gameday and the Mets we site says that Manny Acosta bats right, not switch.
ESPN had him as a switch-hitter, which is where I got the info from.
He must have recently given up the left side, then. I distinctly remember him batting lefty a few times for us (and Baseball Reference shows that he has 4 PAs as a lefty and 3 as a righty).

If he had started the year in the rotation,We would be having a Strasburg type shut him down in a pennant race arguement.The Braves did the right thing by limiting his innings.(he has never pitched more than 123 innings as a pro)

Last year when the ‘pen was gassed, folks blamed Fredi’s management, when in fact it was the fault of the offense.
The back end of the bullpen has gotten a lot of work lately. 5+ run leads are the best kind of bullpen maintenance.

Hey gotta give me some credit because I point out things I see wrong even when we are winning.
For instance, we are playing well now but the last few teams we have played suck bad! Marlins, Stros, Phillies, Mets(did I leave one out) all suck. Anyhting less than sweeps are almost a lost series against these guys We gotta keep it going against the good teams.

MEJIA slams his 30th double of the season. He’ll have to pick up the pace to get to 40 this year, and 30 HR’s too. Has 83 RBI though. And still at .304 through a five-game downer at the plate. What’s impressive is that even when he’s not raking, he still gets a hit practically every night. Being moved to third in the order with a hot STEF GARTRELL behind him may help him see some better pitches.

BravesFaninOK- My argument all along has been that Kris would be of better use to the Braves in the rotation. What I got grilled on was that many on the blog said that Kris was of better use to the Braves as a reliever, and not the fact that keeping Kris in the bullpen was being done to keep his innings down so he could be a starter later in the season. I still wonder about this, but Kris is pitching well so that’s all that matters.
