the pitches up in the 4th and 5th inning should have been a warning sign for Fredi.
Which is why, imo, after he hit Utley, he should’ve been taken out. Screw qualifying for the win, get the out now and lower the likelihood of the game getting tied. Howard has owned Huddy, and in this situation, I wouldn’t have risked it.

Pace- i don’t care if the bases were loaded! He is the one person in the Phillies lineup who will kill you. Walk him, hell, hit him with the pitch, don’t give him anything… cause you know why? pitching around him will not cost you the lead. The guy behind him is not going to hit a grand slam.
This team consistently (and i’m talking for the last several years) get’s burned by the other teams best hitter. Over and over and over again.
When is enough, enough?

Well, the Astros are following the script, allowing the Gnats to beat them, but it seems the Phillies didn’t get the word. They don’t seem to want to “roll over and die” after losing two of their best players. Somebody needs to whisper in Fredi G’s ear how many games are left this year. Any manager with half a brain would have jerked Hudson when it was 6-3. (Yeh, I know, he doesn’t even have half a brain)

Hey Pace- lay off the sarcastic cracks about my knowledge. Go attack someone else. You don’t know me or what i know or don’t know.
What we do know is they pitched to R. Howard again in a critical situation and he hit his 40th HR against the Braves (most of any team) and tied the game.
So, make fun of me all you want and deflect the real issue.
I bet if they pitched around him, the Braves would still be winning this game… but that wouldn’t be smart, huh?
