WHAT THE HELL FREDIE GONZALEZ? PITCHER DUE UP 3RD IN THE INNING AND YOU TAKE OUT AVILAN? COME ON??? WHAT THE HELL? DOES HE HAVE PITCHERS TO BURN? CAN ANY1 TELL ME WHAT FREDI IS DOING?
Absolutely could not believe Fruti let Hudson pitch to Howard, I was sitting here shakeing my head saying you stupid SOB, I can’t believe your leaving him in there the BAM, just as I feared, STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID, fire that idiot.
When Howard fouled off two weak Hudson meatballs, I knew it was going to be a home run if he kept throwing them. And of course he did. Our stupid manager could not see that.
I sure hope Sheets’ arm holds up and he continues pitching well. But if he doesn’t, the worst thing that could’ve happend was him pitching so well before the trade deadline and make Wren think he can take over as ace of the staff. It prevented him from going out and acquiring Greinke or maybe even pull off a surprising trade for an ace.
Braves are fine. Nationals won’t play the Astros every game for the rest of the season (although it does seem like they haven’t played a competitive team in 3 weeks). I am pretty disappointed in Hudson though. Have to take this game & he lays an egg like this? C’mon man. What a joke.
Michael Bourn baby…..Yeah dont want to take a risk of signing that! ROFL! Who said signing him was risky? ROFL! Dont sign him. He can stay in ATL until he retires and whip the Phillies along the way….
Ron White says it best – “you can’t fix stupid”. That applies to our manager. No matter how any fans grumble or even a player or media hints that he’s not so sharp, he doesn’t get it. Stupid cannot be fixed.
Missed the whole comeback effort….and, I dpn’t hear anyone ‘tipping.’ Pissed too I am that we seem to allow HOWARD to get pitches he can drive……Fredi, i’m sure….had his tuchus firmly planted throughtout the ‘better yank him now or else’ phase.
now just where did you see anything like that VJ?
but he threw 30 pitches the inning before many of which were high, and he started right back with the high stuff the next inning.
It is pretty obvious when he loses it, and Howard does own him.
So in this case i would not have had him pitch to Ryan
I posted earlier today about Gearrin. He is a wreck waiting to happen! Last three hitters he has faced..line drive rocket for a hit…deep fly ball to the wall in left, then tonight a deep fly ball to the wall in center! The only person he seems to be fooling is Fredi!
just once i’d like to see us pitch around the other teams best hitter in a critical situation. JUST ONCE! instead of giving up yet another game tying or go ahead HR to ______________.
(fill in the blank: Ryan Howard, A. Pujols, Barry Bonds… it never ends.)
Hudson is hurting this year. He has guts, so I don’t know where people get the idea he’s a wimp. Ignorant thing to say. Thing is that he is a feel type pitcher. His stuff isn’t as sharp I think because of his ankle. He also being little wears down as the season wears on.
i dont remember when i have been so pleasantly surprised in a guy as i have been in durbin…i really thought he was going to be a blackhole but he has been awesome!!
Even though Hudson was obviously struggling, he usually gets out of those situations and limits damage. Tonight – he didn’t. Not the manager’s fault entirely, but the pitches up in the 4th and 5th inning should have been a warning sign for Fredi.
