It seems like Braves pitchers have given up several long homeruns to Justin Maxwell in his career. I remember in 2010 when Maxwell was playing for the Nationals he hit a long grand slam off of Mike Minor.

That homer off Maholm equals the number of homers he’d allowed in 39 innings as a visiting pitcher at Turner Field

I’m so excited we got Paul Maholm because without the addition of a proven 4th starter this game might really be out of control.

That only serves to verify my post at 7:10PM, and NO I do not know why, it’s a strange stat. He’s given up 0 HRs to the NL EAST this year, but has given up 7HRs to the rest of the NL.(now 8) Go figure!

Interesting stat Chip Caray brought up about Steve Carlton. The ‘72 Phillies had 59 wins. Carlton won 27. His Cy Young performance…

1972 – 346.1 innings, 1.97 ERA, .993 WHIP.

The Braves beat Carlton once in ‘72. Carlton and Phil Niekro both pitched 11 innings each. Braves won on a Mike Lum single in the top of the 11th to drive in Dusty Baker.
