on the road they have full complement of light standards and that would likely not happen, and it looked like he never touched the ball. standard call anywhere when a fielder loses the ball and never touches it
The Braves are excellent at running the bases. They always aggressive on the base paths with scoring from first on doubles and going first to third on singles.
Phil – I think with Uggla starting to hit it would be better for the base running if Uggla hit 6th and McCann 7th. I read today that Uggla had the highest percentage of scoring from first on a double in MLB. McCann hits a lot of doubles and it only makes sense to swap the two.
Astros sent Jennings down after leaving him in there for that bombardment last night. Thats a bush league way of doing business and treating people. May explain why they are in the shape they are now as a club and an organization.
teams do that all the time Mark, they can’t get any use out of him for days and had a double header . no surprise to me at all. Braves have done the same
Uggla just has to try and pull everything. That looks like all he’s thinking about. Maybe he should try and cutting down on his swing and think the other way until he can get things going again. Then he can go and pull away like he always has.
Here’s a thought….Chipper still hits at a high level. Since he just got divorced and assuming his family life allows for it, why not sign him for a one year deal…say at $5-6 million and use him as a spot starter at 3rd and 1st to give Prado and Freeman rest and use him as a pinch hitter off the bench?
I mean he says he loves the game…and how much hunting can you do???
Dan Uggla is an idiot. He had no chance to throw out Francisco and then he proceeds to make one of his terrible throws into the Braves bullpen allowing Francisco to advance. What an idiot.
because he’d turn it down. He may still love the game but also says he is tired of the living out of suitcases. He’s set on retiring and nothing is going to change his mind
I don’t remember the Braves ever leaving a guy out there to take a pounding and then sending him down. But, if you say they did I’m sure I just missed that one. If I do see them treat someone like that though in the future i’ll point out that in my opinion the Braves have resorted to bush league behavior as well!
I suppose the Braves will PH for Huddy – still, 6 innings of pretty good pitching considering he didn’t seem to have his best game today, but the BP could’ve used more rest.
