A walk would be nice, but a home run would be nicer.
he can stay forever IMO
August 3rd, 20128:09 pm
Well struck, Mac…
effective pitching on Galarraga’s part … 30+ pitches but 0 damage done
has there ever been a 27 walk no-hitter?????
No Hitter still intact……
August 3rd, 20128:10 pm
that kinda sucked…
Well, that was almost a complete waste of an inning.
“Almost” completely wasted, because Galarraga threw 33 pitches.
August 3rd, 20128:11 pm
I do not like how listless the Braves have started this game.
They NEED to sweep this awful team.
If our chubby assed catcher would hit a baseball like he hits the Pizza Hut and KFC’s, we’d be a much better team!
August 3rd, 20128:12 pm
Scoring in the first inning would have been nice. Hopefully that will be nothing that comes back to haunt them later in the game.
August 3rd, 20128:13 pm
IO thought Mac was a Checkers guy, like me…
August 3rd, 20128:14 pm
RBI’S > 3 Runners LOB.
No RBI’s = ZERO Runs scored.
Oh well, on to the second inning.
Hard to believe Galarraga threw 33 pitches, loaded the bases, got out without a run scoring and the Braves didn’t get one hit!
Still – think the Braves will be fine – our power is coming up in the second
Rick Ankiel may have had one.
August 3rd, 20128:15 pm
The 1st inning took 34 minutes, 58 total pitches thrown, 0-0.
Shouldn’t Hudson be getting these Astros hitters out with like 4 pitches an inning? Man we need a real pitcher …
Nolie- Andy Taylor pitched a no-hitter and lost for Mayberry. He had about that many walks, too. He threw the wobble ball.
Jordan “HGH” Schafer.
Man, we did fleece Houston on that deal even if Bourn does go.
can you really not understand the difference , or do you just think that is funny?
August 3rd, 20128:17 pm
We needed a hit like that in the first inning…
Jordan killing us…
Huddy still not right. third inning will be better I hope
I wonder if Schafer will have a big series against the Braves like he did down in Houston and like most former Braves do.
Schafer is not long for MLB, I’d rather have Constanza on my team anyday.
I really do not with that BUMB well, not the way he flopped here. Cannot stand the guy.
he does eat Checkers, loves his KFC though. That’s why he runs like he does – all that greasy chicken.
August 3rd, 20128:18 pm
You don’t see much of that “ex team mate love” going on with the Braves and Schafer.
I meant I do not wish the BUMB Schafer well, he was a flop and still is
Less pitches – need to keep decreasing each inning…
guy like Gallaraga, you don’t know if you wanna try to get him out of the game or prefer that hang around some
August 3rd, 20128:19 pm
sometimes we can make the worst team in baseball look good
Hudson clearly doesn’t have it today. Galaragga almost hit that out. Hudson needs to get back on track and we need to score a lot of runs tonight if we are going to beat the Astros
August 3rd, 20128:20 pm
Huddy often starts the first two innings poorly, usually picks it up
Why should there be any ex team mate loe with Mr. HGH Schafer?
For what he was supposed to be he was nothing but an underachieving headache.
Did he not have a Pot charge in the off season????? He just seems like a dumb guy, and he never took responsibility for the HGH, always denied it. Whinney crybaby.
August 3rd, 20128:21 pm
Nats have scored already
Hudson should be okay, I hope we can get a good 6 IP out of him tonight. That would be good considering how many pitches he has thrown.
August 3rd, 20128:22 pm
That Nats are WS material. They are darned good.
What in the heck is Uggla doing?
WHAT THE F IS UGGLA DOING MAN? CANT HE SWING ?? F!!!!!!!!
Dan has no clue where the ball is going
That was the BEST at bat EVER!!!
The A Bomb
Stunning — thought most people around here would be at Star Wars Night….
And with that, the Black Hole strikes back again. $13 million disaster.
Wow – Uggla must have thought today was HIS day off – bat never moved!!!!
August 3rd, 20128:24 pm
with Huddy up, at least we have one good hitter up this inning
C’mon Hudson, show ‘em how to hit.
Uggla is useless. We do not need a weightlifter playing 2nd.
August 3rd, 20128:25 pm
Jim powell, Uggla has a good back of the bubble gum card.
That was one of the worst at-bats from a non-pitcher I have ever seen.
Proof that Gonzalez didn’t ban bongs from the clubhouse.
Galarraga threw 33 pitches in the 1st – only had to throw 11 to get through the second! Bad hitting for the Braves.
August 3rd, 20128:26 pm
Uggla is a headcase. I wrote that here about a thousand times last year, but it’s true. His head is full of rocks, too. So darn stubborn.
August 3rd, 20128:28 pm
DBack 3 – 1 over Philly
Wash 1 – 0 over Mia
August 3rd, 20128:29 pm
The answer to the trivia question is Mike Hampton. He had 22 wins one year with the Astros. That’s my guess.
August 3rd, 20128:31 pm
Why do we always play down to the level of crummy teams?
August 3rd, 20128:33 pm
Mike Hampton – yep, 1999 had 22 wins – still wish he had worked out for the Braves.
August 3rd, 20128:34 pm
Uggla is a headcase. ChattTownbrian
I think he shows a lot of disicpline. He hustles 100% – 100% of the time, never loses his cool, plays a competent 2B. Lots of players would be throwing bats and their ass in general after yet another failure.
August 3rd, 20128:35 pm
Way to break up the no-hitter Marteeeeeen!!!
August 3rd, 20128:36 pm
They need to take advantage of Prado’s double. Galarraga may be settling down a bit.
How ’bout a dinger, Jason?
August 3rd, 20128:37 pm
Not to go all cab here, but it appears to be less than 1/3 of the way into the game…
They need to take advantage of Prado’s double.
You might need to explain to them how to do that.
August 3rd, 20128:38 pm
Seriously? Call pitch and throw.
August 3rd, 20128:40 pm
Nice job, Jason…
August 3rd, 20128:41 pm
“I think he shows a lot of disicpline. He hustles 100% – 100% of the time, never loses his cool, plays a competent 2B. Lots of players would be throwing bats and their ass in general after yet another failure”.
Those are all good qualities keyargo, but he has to start hitting at some time. The .210 BA is not good enough for his role and what he is making. Even his HR power is gone now.
I like Uggla as a player but since June he has had a miserable yr after what was a very good start.
And there goes the shutout – CHIPPER!!!!!
Second time through the order and he ain’t foolin’ anyone.
Old Man comes thru again…Stay hot
Right on cue, Tom Glavine. Right on cue.
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!
Thanks, old man!!
August 3rd, 20128:42 pm
Jasopn can really fly from 1st to home. Dan does a good job too considering he is not as fast
Heyward flying around third…scoring from first with the champions hustle….go Braves!
way to go old man, nice to have speed in front.
August 3rd, 20128:43 pm
Awesome! A Chipper double plates two!
That was a great play at second – Freddie got one taken away from him.
This ballclub is working some good plate appearances again tonight.
Give an assist to Jason batting 3rd. You’ve got to have some speed there and he scores easily from 1st on a double.
Yeah, he isn’t fooling anyone now. Got Freddie out, but that ball was scorched.
As bad as this Houston team is, Altuve is a good ballplayer.
August 3rd, 20128:44 pm
Uggla’s a great baserunner which is why it’s so frustrating he doesn’t try to use the whole field. Hurts himself and hurts the team.
The Hapless Astros have won 1 road series all year! MERCY
I agree KL, Jason has always been my choice to hit third rather than Mac or Freddie.
Come on, Uggs…
August 3rd, 20128:45 pm
Be nice to get Chipper home. What is Hudson’s record with a three run lead, like 140-3 or something?
Ok danny has seen him …..He will make them pay here
Uggla goes yard…right here/right now
August 3rd, 20128:46 pm
Now, Mc Cann gets walked to face Dan Uggla.
That is a sign of disrespect, hope that Dan can get revenge. Come on Dan, get it done for a change.
August 3rd, 20128:47 pm
thank you Astros
That was funny hell Dan – take it
Great job, Uggla – what a shot!!!
And that’s why you’re the Astros.
yard to deep short???
at least it got caught in the lights or something
Keylargo- I’ve felt that was where J-Hey should be he could consistently hit because of his speed.
Case in point… how many players would have right-turned as soon as they hit the ball?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
