Re: valuable (fresh) knowledge during rain delay: I never knew Bobby Dews wrote a book about Kangaroos!
August 2nd, 20129:28 pm
I was thinking the same thing about Carlos Lee. He seems to enjoy playing first base so he can chat with the players that reach base.
Yes. Yay Chipper. Now I wonder is he could let me borrow about a million bucks? Well, not really borrow, but ya know, be a good citizen …
August 2nd, 20129:29 pm
Freeman sucks?? Kidding, I am sure!
August 2nd, 20129:32 pm
Chipper loves to chat em up on base….one of the things i really like about the guy.
August 2nd, 20129:33 pm
Good play by Heyward going back on the ball.
August 2nd, 20129:36 pm
multiple walks by Mac tonight is good.
August 2nd, 20129:37 pm
Mac still 0-1…
Unacceptable level of failure.
Awww, look at that useless popeye smashing his bat against the ground… how cute!
August 2nd, 20129:39 pm
Dempster currently with a 15.75 ERA (7 hits/7 runs in 4 IP) with the Rangers
Diaz apparently still has a palm frond embedded in his hand and causing an infection. Same problem as a year or two ago…
A frond with weeds is a frond indeed.
August 2nd, 20129:40 pm
Dumpster…..glad he’s not our problem.
August 2nd, 20129:41 pm
Couch Tater—Not too shabby…
Still say they need to fine these guys about 5 grand for throwing out the F Bombs. Drop in the bucket I know but its the principle of the thing. Kids are in the stands.
Could give the money to the Boys Clubs or something.
Call it the Grown Men Behaving Poorly Charity Account.
August 2nd, 20129:42 pm
Apparently Reed Johnson is no defensive whiz….
Has Uggla’s BA increased exponentially and, if not–get the overpaid bum outta there…..what has become of this great game when hovering around a buck fiddy earns a guy a trip to the All Star game and a New York Times Best Seller List book on how to become a multi-millionaire swinging at hot dog wrappers. Kick the bum off the team and get it over with.
August 2nd, 20129:43 pm
That looked like a poor route to the ball that Johnson took.
Mark, no they do not need to be fined for that.
Heyward’s excuse for a slump is now in place….
August 2nd, 20129:44 pm
Fans would get asked to leave for dropping F-bombs in the stands.
Remember about 2 weeks or so and most on here was carrying on about how we had to have Dempster…
New Nickname should be “Way over-rated at the Deadline Dumpster”
August 2nd, 20129:45 pm
Luckilyy, he seems ok.
August 2nd, 20129:46 pm
I will 2nd that.
August 2nd, 20129:47 pm
Not me on Dumpster.
Guidry was tough now. But, anybody who watched him throw new it woiuld be a short ride for him b/c he was little and used every fiber in his body on every pitch. But, during the short ride, he was tough!!!
Darn shutouts are so elusive this season.
August 2nd, 20129:48 pm
I don’t find it amusing at all that Dempster is getting creamed in his first start with the Rangers. Nope. Not in the slightest………
August 2nd, 20129:50 pm
Dang Austin Kearns. That’s quite a gut you got. Man, looks like you’ve been woofing down a few too many cheeseburgers and fries. Drink a few more large shakes and you just might tip over.
August 2nd, 20129:51 pm
hahaha. So far, Dempster’s ERA in the American League is 15.75 through 4 innings.
August 2nd, 20129:52 pm
Can’t think of a decent moronic, childish nickname for him.
August 2nd, 20129:54 pm
15,75 and rising fast .
Dan Uggla Clusters
Only someone with my massive forearms can slam a bat in that particular fashion.
August 2nd, 20129:56 pm
Yawnish is getting to rather Yawnish. He makes plays look ho hum
August 2nd, 20129:57 pm
Pathetic play, jason….catch the ball!
August 2nd, 20129:58 pm
Did Chip just say he tips his d*** to Chad Gaudin?
August 2nd, 20129:59 pm
At least chipper catches the ball, jason….
August 2nd, 201210:00 pm
Maybe Johnson can beat the Nats but thats their on;y chance I think.
Unless, Johnson decides to rest 2 or 3 guys one night.
August 2nd, 201210:01 pm
I really don’t harbor any ill will toward Dempster, as he was apparently worried about his geographic location in regard to a special needs child. But if I were a Cubs fan, I’d be pissed. That team was screwed once his feelings were known. The Dodgers had ‘em over a barrel and refused to cave. Hope he likes that Texas heat…
August 2nd, 201210:03 pm
The Houston Astros have a 3-28 record since June.
I bet they’ll play their best baseball this weekend…
Blog goes silent when the Braves are winning.
August 2nd, 201210:04 pm
Should have never listed the Braves with the Dodgers as the teams he’d go to.
But hey, I’m glad he did it. OVER-Rated – However, not so much in Texas after tonight
Big third out….keep it mostly hopeless.
August 2nd, 201210:05 pm
Has a lot to do with the Marlins. They are bad. Astros are worse though
August 2nd, 201210:06 pm
3-28 since June!? Wow. I was unaware of that. They only have 10 wins on the road all season, so the Braves better take care of business.
August 2nd, 201210:07 pm
Dumpster has a career ERA around 4.50…..
Never understood all the fuss about the guy.
And PLEASE. We know about his child and are concerned for her well being.
Not sure if it was posted but Nationals win 3-0.
The A Bomb
August 2nd, 201210:08 pm
HEYWARD SUCKS! KOOL-AID!
August 2nd, 201210:09 pm
Heyward has his first three-hit game since June 24 at Red Sox with seventh inning single
August 2nd, 201210:10 pm
Very good swing by Chipper on that line drive – Just hit it to the wrong spot.
August 2nd, 201210:11 pm
Chipper and Heyward have made some nice contact tonight.
Man that was a rope by Chipper. This is the time to let guys rest.
I’d get Chipper and Mac out of this game after this half and let Ross and Flabby get some time on the field.
Chipper only 2-4….
Weak for a 40 yr old.
August 2nd, 201210:12 pm
Chipper squaring up everything!
I agree w/resting Chipper the last couple of innings – plus he fouled that ball off his foot/leg – Juan can use a little work.
Get Wayward out of there. He sucks!
August 2nd, 201210:14 pm
I think that’s the first time I ever registered on Rank Poster Frequency since the inception of the premise. Hooray for short blogs!
The right shoulder…wish we knew exactly what it is.
Cuff? Acromion? Tendonitis?
Something is bugging him and it’s getting gradually worse.
August 2nd, 201210:15 pm
Breaking news: watching the Summer Olympics is just awful.
August 2nd, 201210:16 pm
1. You limit the amount of moves Gonzalez has to make…..
– and –
2. You take Joe West out of the equation….. hardest thing he had to do this series was call a rain delay….
You’re going to win most of the time. Braves taking care of business.
August 2nd, 201210:18 pm
Nice pick by Freddi!!!!!!!
August 2nd, 2012
post more crap like I do….all it takes!
August 2nd, 201210:19 pm
That one bout nicked that gut when it went by
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
Powderfinger Where have you been? Better check your wallet, ’cause we had a laugh at your expense a little while ago…
I’ve been around, just not Blogging. Not much to contribute apparently…
What were y’all laughing about…?
August 2nd, 201210:20 pm
Another great inning, Cory!!!
There’s a reason i watch very little of the summer games…
August 2nd, 201210:21 pm
I was hoping we could still pick up a good middle reliever at some point..just don’t trust Gearin and some others in a close game
Cory Gearrin has been impressive over the past few days.
August 2nd, 201210:23 pm
Cory is similar in delivery to Peter Moylan.
Uggla has to love these at-bats when he can swing from his intestines.
August 2nd, 201210:24 pm
Is Joe trying to be sarcastic toward Uggla.
Last at bat it was Dan hitting 500 in the month of August.
This time 333 the month of August.
Ok for us but the announcers??
does anyone know the last time Uggla homered?
Awww, come on Uggla! Smash your bat again!
Chipper is 65th all time in hits now.
When you consider that those 65 couldn’t complete three 25 man rosters, for just one season in over a hundred years of baseball, it’s dadgum impressive.
Missed isn’t the word for what he’ll be…
August 2nd, 201210:25 pm
KevKat – well, he had one in July, so……..
ok must keep Uggs….greaty fielding and Freddy too….got to get some real Uggla real soon–but, heck, he’s a keeper. Forget my earlier post–must be demetia setting in.
August 2nd, 201210:27 pm
I believe Uggla hit one two nights ago………………… playing Xbox in the clubhouse.
August 2nd, 201210:28 pm
Joe’s math t’aint so good….
He had Uggly at .500 when he was 2-5…..
Got it right last time at .333.
August 2nd, 2012
KevKat – well, he had one in July, so……..
Ok..cool..seems longer than that for some reason..
August 2nd, 201210:29 pm
Was told that had game been called after five innings, Minor could have qualified for win if he’d gone 4 innings. Either way he went only 3 2/3, but you get the idea.
August 2nd, 201210:32 pm
As long as the team wins, Minor will live….
THat don’t surprise me about Joe.
Dempster gave up 8 runs in 4.2 innings.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…..and he’s stuck in Arlington, Tx. which is one hot hell hole in the summer (even at night). Snicker, snicker. Tee hee.
August 2nd, 201210:34 pm
I really would like to know what’s up with BMac’s shoulder, BTW…
August 2nd, 201210:37 pm
I like this Reed Johnson guy – seems like he’s a tough player – like to hear his post game comments after being hit by 2 pitches tonite.
August 2nd, 201210:38 pm
Johnson has been pretty good at getting on base thus far.
Trust me. Any day now Dan Uggla will go on a long hitting streak. I know I have been saying this since May, but just trust me. Any day now.
Before I came to the Braves I use to sell used cars.
After Ozzie walked off they probably said “that joker is crazy”
mcfann – I don’t want to know and hope it stays insignificant enough that I never need to know
August 2nd, 201210:40 pm
“Any Day Now when the clock strikes…something, I don’t remember
Who sung that????
August 2nd, 201210:41 pm
Minor has picked it up lately.Pitching like he did in Spring Training when it looked like he had put it a together.
He is the only stating pitcher who started the season in the rotaion and who still remains.
JJ, Beachy, and Hansen are on the DL, Delgado is in the minors and Huddy started the seasn on the DL.
Wish we still had Beachy.
August 2nd, 201210:42 pm
And Kimbrel to get in his work – I don’t care for this either – he’s gotta keep the pitch count low – probably won’t need him this weekend, but…..
When mom got sick…
Boys in the hall….
A four-hit game from Heyward would have been nice to see instead of one of those weak dribblers to the right side.
Pitcher has nobody to blame there but himself. Taught to go to and stay on the inside of the bag or you get stepped on.
Memo to Fidel: My team really sucks. Could you loan me a few of your baseball players?
Your Good Friend,
August 2nd, 201210:43 pm
Heyward crushed that ball…
August 2nd, 201210:44 pm
I was just thinking of that song.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
