I love the way the Braves have been grinding out at bats over the past few weeks. They have been pretty patient all year, but recently their quality of at bat has improved a great deal.

Thank you, Carroll for an excellent column with REAL good info, including Gilmartin’s first AAA start. He will be an excellent addition to the rotation down the road. Fredi’s not the only one, as I am a HUGE Gattis fan. Kid’s a great story, and that is exactly the kind of guy you want making it – especially with the Braves. I feel bad for Wilson, but his active days are quite over; however, I am sure he will be an excellent bench presence, but little more.

In my fandom, the Braves are my # 1 love. Unfortunately, I have a football mentality that does not jibe well with the baseball vibe. That said, after last night’s crappy hitting debacle, I love what the Braves are doing now – slaughtering an inferior team like the rotting pieces of fish they are.

The answer to the trivia question might be Russ Ortiz in 2003. I will have to look it up to confirm. Also, it looks like Gorkys Hernandez has no bat at all. The Braves were probably wise to package him in that deal for McLouth back in 2009.

Yeah, the answer to the trivia question is Russ Ortiz with 21 wins in 2003. John Smoltz tied for the league league in wins with 16 in 2006.
