i would hope the comment from “me” at 8:56 will be removed and someone may be facing a ban for that
fols – busy with work, following Olympics, and avoiding disgusting scum like the blogger named me and wasted opportunity, who have now been reported and will be banned soon enough…
you mean other than you smart ass? are we gonna start this crap yet again under another name of yours?
Freddie Freeman is now up to .285/.351/.474….
Any reason on saving McCann??
August 1st, 20129:04 pm
Ross has failed in a few big spots tonight.
wow, I must have pissed you off with your realization that you live a miserable life!! What a reaction!!
Well VJ…she’s not missing much obviously! haha!
August 1st, 20129:05 pm
I would say the odds are pretty poor that Uggla has a productive at bat.
That 3-0 swing was a direct result of the offensive struggles of the guys in the 7 and 8 spot.
erik the hinske
One of the greatest mysteries. How a guy like uggla had a 33 game hitting streak. Think about it, 33!!! One of the worst hitter and overall swings had a 33 game hitting streak. how did that happen?????? Chippers longest is 15 maybe. Dimaggio was shocking but Uggla just as shocking consider the types of hitting
August 1st, 20129:06 pm
Wow, you must feel like a man reporting people, keep up the good work, soldier!!
LOL just trying to stir the pot.
How can Freeman not score?
Dan uggla is in the building!!!
UGGS – pulled that sucker hard, but….great result. Now Janish 1/2 way to hitting for the cycle – let’s go
His name is Uggla!!
August 1st, 20129:07 pm
Missing simmons here
nice one danny boy, finally
That Ross at bat really really hurt that inning…
Janish hit it good. Again one of the best below 200 hitters i have seen
The sizzling is fizzling…..
Alright. My proactive pessimism worked wonders for Uggla!
well, at least they got one more closer
So, are you really laughing out loud, or just one of those people who think it is such a cute thing to type? (rhetorical, of course)…
It’s about that time of year………33 games later we’ll forget all about Uggs start!
Brave4life-1995 All over again
Uggla with a huge hit.
me has such a wonderful vocabulary.
August 1st, 20129:08 pm
We need to send Freddie in that instance
Now when Uggla does anything positive I’m shocked.
Janish made some good contact, but the ball fails to really jump off of his bat.
I’m guessing that guy didn’t go to Chic-Fil-A today either!
August 1st, 20129:09 pm
Way to go, Uggla.
Wow, clever boy you are, how long did it take for you to come up with that one?
Sheets is a Boss.
August 1st, 20129:10 pm
think we had to pinch-hit for Janish there …
Two runs in 6 innings against the lousy Marlins. Two runs. Man, that is about par for the course for this team. That’s all this crummy offense can do against two bush league Marlins pitchers…..and one of them (Zambrano) is a head case.
August 1st, 20129:12 pm
2 runs, really? And what about last night?
This blog has seen some rough times in-game during a couple ugly stretches of ball this year…but during a 7 game win streak this might be the most pathetic bunch i’ve ever seen.
Time to grab a beer and ditch this joint. Enjoy the game!
August 1st, 20129:13 pm
There’s our ace. Love Ben Sheets.
I missed the first inning but he looked good what I saw. Same old Ben
Not a fantastic outing for Sheets – but another quality start – held them pretty much in check after a bad 1st inning – just need the Offense to pick him up.
Sheets pitched good. I thought he would get blown out but this performance has showed me that HEY HE MIGHT BE THE REAL DEAL
we lost the game in the 6th inning
the worst manager in all MLB and maybe in all pro-baseball in the world F-Gonzalez
listen to me moron: why you dont put your neurones to work and pinch hit McCaan in Ross AB???
damn with 2 on one swing and could be this game been tie
It seems like Jose Reyes gets a hit every time he walks to the plate against the Braves.
August 1st, 20129:14 pm
you thought they were gonna win out Fols?
Would have been nice of he finished the inning
Good game from sheets, besides the 1st inning he was solid
McCann should have been on the game
August 1st, 20129:16 pm
What the hell does that comment even mean? dumbass
“you expect us” <<– Do you play for the team? Stupid jackass.
Maybe Mac needs a day off- he’s been messing with his shoulder an awful lot lately…
August 1st, 20129:17 pm
Just got home from working in NC, been looking forward all week to returning to the old blog to celebrate our run of success, as well as an attractive trade. We’re behind for the moment, and I’ve been reminded just how bleak things are. Thanks for the jolt back to “reality”…
I love watching women’s beach volleyball
4 game sweeps happen about 20% of the time at home and about 10% on the road
No Nolie, the opposite…….I think some people in here are unable to handle a single loss during 160 games. We’re doing well, still in this one, just need to go put the feet up and watch the comeback.
He was out..everything is even now.
first time poster, long time listener. it’s very obvious that veer, lol and nerd are extremely knowledgable baseball people. do all 3 of you worked for one of the organizations in the bigs? i’ve learnd so much just reading from you,. thank you for sharing some of your knowledge.
i will hang up now and listen
August 1st, 20129:18 pm
I’m afraid Mac is hurting more than normal this time of the year. He has had some days off plus the shoulder rubbing makes me wonder???
August 1st, 20129:19 pm
You should come to Southern California then- 3 of the largest beach tournaments every year are played here
I would sign Sheets to an extension if I’m the Braves. Injury risk and all, but you see he’s a top starter.
couldn’t celebrate in good, old north carolina powderfinger??
August 1st, 20129:20 pm
I thought you were ditching this “joint”, as if you’re out hanging out with your friends, get a life, I got to go now because I have better things to do instead of read your dull ass comments. PEACE
2-2 pitchout isn’t real smart.
agree – see if Sheets will go ahead sign him for next year with a vesting option or something
Pitch out on 2-2 count with two outs is so dumb. Get the batter out.
August 1st, 20129:21 pm
walking guys after jumping ahead 0-2 is inexcusable. This might unravel here.
Why on earth would Fredi call for a pitchout on a 2-2 count?
yeah Eric, you do that
thats was stupid
ChattTownBrian—I agree about Sheets. I’d love to see him after this winter and a full spring training…
wow, I consider the fans as part of the team, guess you don’t, but hey, you GOT ME GOOD ON THAT ONE, NICE FIND, GOOD BOY, you get a treat
August 1st, 20129:22 pm
@ChattTownBrian : yes but not for too much money maybe a 2 years and 5 mdd contract
really – pulling Durbin after 1 batter??
Having to to follow on Gamecast right now
August 1st, 20129:23 pm
Don’t like Avilan here…., but it has to be done I guess.
Yeah, the 2-2 pitch out was an odd move, especially with a guy who does have the tendency to walk people.
And then he proves me wrong!
This is a high leverage situation. I would rather see O’Flaherty in the game.
August 1st, 20129:24 pm
worked out well but seems a waste of Durbin
Fredi is a freaking genius. We have a better win/loss record than several teams that have a bigger differential. That is all Fredi’s expertise
August 1st, 20129:25 pm
Good work Luis…..
Does ghostery.com have am Droid app?
This is the home link that answers questions. Hopefully it will help you.
So Freddi uses two pitchers for one out then will have to pinch-hit the first batter in the bottom of the inning. Anyone ever remember Freddi ever using a double switch?
brian—couldn’t celebrate in good, old north carolina powderfinger??
Don’t have a laptop to carry on the road, and it feels a little empty celebrating while sitting alone in a hotel room. But I’ve been known to do it anyway. The point is that I wanted to do so while surrounded by cyberfriends…
August 1st, 20129:26 pm
Me too, but not for the volleyball jk jk
You won 7 in a row. Big deal! Why not make it 8 in a row? You are playing a minor league quality team. Make up ground when you got a chance. You got a chance to gain a game on the Nats. Don’t blow it.
I’ve found the appropriate product response for the 8:56 comment.
Heath been eating the Tacos or something like crazy!
August 1st, 20129:27 pm
scott diamond is 9-5 with a 2.95 era this year for the twins…in the american league, on that team, im impressed by that
What pisses me off is that if Mac were playing we might be tied right now and possibly just 1.5 behind the Nationals. Moves like this make diff in standing. Mac has had now 3 days off in 1 week
Juan with a K, as expected….
Perfect chance to pinch hit Bourn here to lead off the inning…
August 1st, 20129:28 pm
Sheets: 6-2/3 innings, 11 H, 4 R (3 ER), 1 BB, 8 K. 71 strikes in 104 pitches
August 1st, 20129:29 pm
The reason we lost this game is because no Mac or Bourn. A donated game and a lost game in standings
So Sheets proved he’s human. I still think he’s one helluva find off the scrap heap…
August 1st, 20129:30 pm
Veer: Yeah, let’s not rest our players so that they can be dead tired in September, like they were last year.
REED! Love this dude.
August 1st, 20129:31 pm
Wait – Veer said we lost this game – it’s over???? Then WTH are they showing on my tv????
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
