Constanza got screwed! They keep jerking him around between Gwinnett and Atlanta. Now they’ve sent him down again and taken his number. Braves need to let him go to another club that will appreciate his talent. So unfair.

LOL, just goes to show it’s all a matter of perspective. The people who looked at Constanza’s history and didn’t believe in him thought Fredi showed him way too much love last season.
Just have to say, this trade was a very good one for the Braves. We get pitching depth, whether it be in rotation or bullpen and help the bench. All we had to give up was a talented young pitcher who’s likely to be on and off the DL with arm troubles his whole career. Great job using a pitcher with the dreaded “inverted W” as a trade piece rather than relying on them for the future!
The way it looks, the Braves improved their starting pitching this month with the additions of Sheets and Maholm, while the Nationals are going to lose their ace very soon. Not to mention having as their number two and three starters two guys with inverted W’s that make them much more susceptible to injury.
About Hanson going on the DL, I realize this time it isn’t for arm trouble (at least not the official reason), but this will be a very common problem with him. He will become more injury prone as time goes. His shoulder is a ticking time bomb, and the consistent dropoff in velocity can’t be a good sign. Hope he gets through the season, but it would be great if we could get something in return for him this offseason. His career path will go the way of Chris Young, now of the NY Mets, who he shares mechanical problems with – in particular how high they raise their elbow above the the shoulder, causing shoulder trouble.
Constanza needs to ask for a trade. He isn’t getting any younger and his numbers say he deserves a shot. Some team that likes speed would give him a shot
Another note on Constanza. It’d be a shame to have all that speed coming off the bench when we need that steal or a sac late in the game. Oh yeah, we got Hinski to do that!!
If someone wanted to give the Braves anyone of value for Constanza, he probably would’ve already been traded. He’s been a guy we could call up from AAA for OF depth all season.
i like the trade, didn’t give up much and got some nice help for the outfield/bench and for the rotation. Now on the other hand, man if i was the GM i would have given the Phillies a better deal than the Gaints did for Hunter Pence. Pence could have played LF and Prado 3B next season with Chipper gone and this year with Chipper is sitting out. When Chipper played we could have used Prado at 2nd because Uggla couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. Not sure if the Phillies Gm would have sent him to the Braves but i would think he would for Delgado and a couple of the lesser arms in the minors. He got one good prospect from the Gaints and a journey man outfielder and that was really it. Let’s go Braves, time to start pitching the way you are capable of and someone please help Dan Uggla, is he going to break the strike out record for a season? He is striking out more than anyone i can ever remeber on the Braves and we have had a few that like to swing from their heels.
By the way, as for the little tif about JJ being on a postseason roster: Better chance of seeing J.C. Boscan or Constanza or another reliever than seeing him on there as of now. The extra catcher was common with Cox around, and with Ross being a decent bat off the bench it could be an option.
Have to agree. If JJ’s ever relieved, it’s something he hasn’t done in years. Also, it’s not like he’s been wearing down over the course of the game this year. Excluding a couple of games, he’s been bad from the time he’s stepped on the mound until Fredi went out to get him. And how much would people be complaining if JJ went out in a close playoff game and got shelled?
I have my window open and noticed something real odd in the sky a few minutes ago. It was blue lights going in a circle pattern and I shty you not something flew out of it,like a white light. I do not take drugs or drink either. I would share it with my wife or a neighbor instead of on a blog. No body is around
I don’t know about that. I think you’re forgetting KK, Farnsworth, Lowe (overpaid) and Ankiel (not a difference maker). However, I think Wren’s had more hits than misses, and I feel comfortable with the team in his hands.
Joe, that’s not the first time I’ve seen something like this either. On my way to work one morning and saw somethin freaky happening. Could just be some new technology we don’t know about. Probably is. Never know though
