The difference with Uggla is that when he was having those better years, he was not getting 12M plus a year. He should be held to the standard of his current compensation, paid by fans in tickets, concessions, parking costs etc. This is not govt employment. He just is awful for the amount of money he is getting paid.

Remember at the start of the year when everyone was calling on Wren to dump Durbin and calling Gonzalez an idiot for sticking with him although he was struggling. Imagine if he and Wren had listened……ditto for Uggla.

From what I’ve seen the home plate ump does seem to be having a bad day. Bobby “the Master” Cox never hesitated to let the ump hear it when he thought one of his pitchers was getting screwed. Hope Uggla doesn’t go on one of those 0 for 20 streaks again.

So…..you would bench him and still pay him all that money? I think Uggla knows full well what is expected of him…..and is trying his best to do it. But he never ever stops giving 110 percent on the field….and is the ultimate team player. GO DAN. GO BRAVES.

I wonder if the Phils regret letting Durbin go with there sorry pen situation? Maybe they would trade Victorino for Durbin? Nope….I would not make that deal either right……as Durbin is more valuable to the Braves right now.

Not if Moylan comes back soon and pitches like he used to pitch….but that is a big if. But I have stated many times that Medlen should have been in the starting rotation several weeks ago and that Wren should have spent his time trying to get a end of game reliever….but he didn’t. So we wait on Moylan to get here and see what happens….I guess.

Phils last had Durbin in 2010. Durbin was with the Nats this year all thru spring training before they released him right at the end.

My objective would be to sit Uggla, hope he can regroup, then hope he has a quick flurry so we could trade him, even if we have to pay half his salary. Put Prado back to second, and use the 5-6M to get a left fielder. Uggla was a desperate move by Wren, who felt he needed to do something, no matter how silly. Unfortunately, Wren has the reverse midas touch.

Durbin never pitched in the ML for the Nats. He pitched 3 years for the Phils (08, 09, 10)….and pitched for the Indians the year before coming to the Braves in a minor league deal (in the Nats minor league system at the time).,,,,so my post about the Phils stands.

Back to my orignial post and point……since Durbin pitched for the Phils and not the Nats……I bet they wish they had not let him go right now…..THAT WAS THE POINT….with there sorry pen situation. You would have actually had to have pitched for someone in the ML in order to want them back….I would think.
