If I have to explain that to you……you do not follow college football. FSU (Gilmartin)……U o F (Ross)…..needs a Gator catcher to help him win…..DUH.
Cmon Yanish. Get on so Huddy can bat and we can statrt at the top next inning
July 29th, 20122:31 pm
I think Conzalez could have figured out that one…….just saying.
First time today the ump has given either pitcher that call on the third base side of the plate.
Gio just walked in a run nats 1 Brew crew 1

The way Pie is playing in Gwinnett, it’s high time he’s added to the 40 man and brought up in September. There’s a ton of dead weight on the 40 man. Viz and Beachy can be moved to 60-day DL and Cordier should be DFA’d.
Hoss Battle Axe is now 10-for-18 with three homers off Doc Halladay
Hey DOB, I thought just passed Rose.
passes Rose with what about 6000 fewer PAs?
Ump may be sweating more now. Rings up Yawnish on a pitch that hasn’t been called all day.
July 29th, 20122:33 pm
Brew Crew up 2-1.
Brew crew 2 its on tbs and its my birthday 54 lets gain one for me
Jerry: Hmmm…you misunderstand. I’ll explain. Firstly, I wasn’t “irritated” with people being down on Heyward. When a player slumps it happens. I was simply tired of the copycat bloggers that picked up on using the same tired “Wayward” moniker. Secondly, funny you should mention “consistant”…that’s exactly what differentiates my feelings about the two. Heyward was in his second season. Only a third season would allow an objective call on what his pattern would be. So, for folks to call for his job at that point was bandwagon-ism/fanaticism at it’s best. Uggla, however, has consistently shown a pattern of offensive extremes throughout his career & it’s hurt us more than it’s helped us.
Halladay at 60 pitches through 3 innings, he’s not long for this game and the ump is loosening up a bit it appears. Let’s see this half inning.

If I have to explain that to you……you do not follow college football. FSU (Gilmartin)……U o F (Ross)…..needs a Gator catcher to help him win…..DUH. Tampa Gator
No, I got that reference. I’m just trying to understand how a Gator helps a Seminole to win. That makes no sense.
Pie absolutely sukks in the bigs
Braves fan always
July 29th, 20122:35 pm
chipper always does good when he doesnt go to hooters
Maybe we should trade for Victorino…move Prado to 2B…Uggla becomes a $13mil bench player
July 29th, 20122:36 pm
They should have traded the stupid hawaian before the game…
Need to score 4 to win this one……..getting warm…….this may go Venters in the 7th to hold it….

Still no love for Huddy from Cedarstrom.

“Hairston or Reed Johnson. do it now”
Now your’re talking. Said Hairston couple weeks back and you busted on me last year pining for Reed Johnson. You did a 360 though to your credit.
Eddie Murray’s 1,099 extra-base hits is the all-time leader for switch-hitters, then Chipper (1,042), Rose (1,042), Mantle (952)
I hate to say this but Chipper ain’t gonna catch Eddie Murray.
The ex-Seminole has enough sense to be on the same team as a Gator…..and the Gator always wants to win championships.
July 29th, 20122:38 pm
JC–what’s his being Hawaiian have to do with it? You oughta do a spell check then an intelligence test before you write that shyt.
if u cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen
“I blame Al Gore…”
Uggla finally had a ball accidentally hit his bat so he now has his hit for the next month so Fredi will continue running him out there
July 29th, 20122:39 pm
@Mark: Agreed. @WoodyWoodward: What I mean by “worse way” is that some streaky hitters go hot & cold for a couple weeks at a time. In the case of Uggla, he goes hot & cold for a couple months at a time…which is, in my opinion, far less tolerable.
Theory to the question of why left handers like the ball down and in.
I’ve always thought it may be due to the fact that a lot of left hand hitters are right hand throwers which is obviously their lead arm in the swing. Easier to drop the head and get the barrel to the low and in ball?
Again – Just a theory. As good as any other reason I guess.
this is a blod woody
who gives a shyt about spelling
Does anyone know Alfonso Soriano’s contract terms/dates?…………He’s fnally getting healthy and might be a piece if only for month’s or even next year….
July 29th, 20122:40 pm
Victorino is hitting just slightly better than Uggla….with no power. Glad you are not the Braves GM.
July 29th, 20122:41 pm
Wish we could be that lucky!!
ever heard of google
it works wonders
busted on you? I have pushed for Reed last season and this one after you brought him up
Byte me, braves fan. I’m objecting to the phrase “stupid Hawaiian.” Its offensive, blockhead.
July 29th, 20122:42 pm
No team has wanted to keep him on their roster for very long…..for good reason. The Cubs have been unable to dump him and his enormous salary…..but they have certainly tried….many times. No takers.
…with no power – yet he just took Huddy out. Anyway, I was being facetious. Like sarcasm, that obviously doesn’t transition well into typed communication.
DOB already did the Trivia Q for us
July 29th, 20122:44 pm
I’m not saying Pie would be a savior, just that he’s probably a better option than Georgie. Pie is still just 27, he’s just was never able to meet expectations. I think he’d be a serviceable 4th OF in the bigs.
Wow… because I missed an “i”?
Who cares about spelling in a blog? And this is not even my native language…
And him being Hawaiian has everything to do with me calling him Hawaiian, so what? Did you find it racist? Your problem then…
Bourn sukks so much. can we DFA him??
July 29th, 20122:45 pm
Yeah, I do think it’s racist. If the shoe fits…
Frank Wrenn announced the signing of greg norton
Says this is the piece we need to win the world series
July 29th, 20122:46 pm
native language? y’all spell Hawaii differently???
(but right now, I’d take a .260 hitter over a guy flirting with the Mendoza line…and with half the strikeouts too)
July 29th, 20122:47 pm
Enjoy your shoe then…
BOTH BOURN AND PRADO ARE 0/3,0/6 OVERALL
Trade both these bums now
The ex-Seminole has enough sense to be on the same team as a Gator…..and the Gator always wants to win championships. Tampa Gator
Again, that is just dumb. I enjoy SEC football, but will never understand the incessant chest beating, especially when you currently have a shytty team.
July 29th, 20122:48 pm
We speak American out here, nolie.
Following the game by gamecast on ESPN…..I am behind the actual game. But….Victorino….has very little power then.
Are you serious….”Bourn sucks”…..you talking about the all-star CF….great defensive CF….great base stealer….CF…..nearly .300 batting average CF…..great team player….CF……
Yeah boy….Bourn really sucks…..DFA and bring up Pie.
July 29th, 20122:49 pm
Victorino is about 50 points higher in average, only 4 less in homers, struck out half the number of times and has stolen 20 to 25 bases.
Its not gonna happen but what wouldn’t be good about that swap straight up?
Not mine, you’re wearing it
Someone from “Hawái” is a “Hawaiano” in spanish, nolie.
July 29th, 20122:50 pm
It has nothing to do with chest beating…..an all to do with being a proud alumni of a great university and great football program……and the team does not currently suck. It sucked in 2010….sucked less in 2011….and will not suck in 2012.
.DFA and bring up Pie….dumb ol’ Gator
Nope, I called out Reed Johnson and you quickly pointed out his career stats and impulsively weren’t lauding him. Like I said, you did a 360 after a couple of days and were pushing him.
I like Hairston and little more right now but a deal with Cubs if anything transpires would probably be more logical if Reed ever came aboard. I still don’t intradivision trading of Hairston would be that big of a obtacle though.
We both are very much in agreement that this club is too lefthander oriented though. This team really needs to address if not this season with deals, in the offseason especially considering Bourn issue.
With what we are paying Uggla, he could go into a negative batting average and Liberty Mutal is going to play him every day.
I believe you should keep your shoe, because it obviously doesn’t fit me…
But whatever floats your boat!
July 29th, 20122:51 pm
Two chicken crap hits.
Bourn sucks has only 28 sbases this year
How much u wanna bet he has at least 50 next year with the nats?
He will prob.steal 7 bases against braves next year with fat so mccann catching
July 29th, 20122:52 pm
2 see and eye hits
bummer. I don’t think it is a good idea to score early for Tim. he gives them all back anymore….
July 29th, 20122:53 pm
its liberty media not liberty mutual
you must also think why is prdo not playing ss also?
Kevin “No One Knows Who I Am” Frandsen with another hit…
Gotta be careful here with Pieere on 3rd could almost be like a safety squeeze
Josh Johnson went five innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. Not sure why he’s out after 5 unless it’s related to the blister/callus that caused him to come out of the last start vs Braves.
He remains my hope for the Braves to get before the trading deadline.
July 29th, 20122:54 pm
When the season ends…..Victorino will not be 4 less HRs than Uggla or anywhere near in RBIs. But he is a much better average and on base player. But I would not trade Uggla for him…..
Sheets is a true professional. All pitchers should wanna work hard on their bunting.
Dog the Bounty hunter lives in Hawaii, thus he is a Hawaiian or what ever you call it. Now there is a stupid Hawaiian…
July 29th, 20122:55 pm
Tampa Gator…. I agree regarding Alfoso but lived in Chicago from ‘07-’09 and boy when he’s “on”…….he can change the manager’s thinking and in the 6 hole behind #10 and in front of Freeman, what a difference in power from the right side………….free swinger though and with Uggla behind him…..hmmmm…Was hoping he would be the rental RH RBI machine that could be “lightning in a bottle” like Sheets has been………just missing that RH bat and dependable starter to save the pen for the stretch t come….
Keylargo – 95 pitches – six walks in those five innings – probably got worn out
You guys keep on talking about Johnson. He is one pitch away from the “all year DL”….every time he pitches.
July 29th, 20122:57 pm
braves had a chance to get sanchez and infante from the marlins for delgado and rev
dumb move by the braves
July 29th, 20122:58 pm
Straight up trade I’d take Victorino over Uggla right now, yesterday, last year or next year.
But thats the great thing about the blog. We can share ideas and knock things around and agree to disagree, huh?
July 29th, 20122:59 pm
Sorry, ITS ME. Living in Hawaii does not make one “Hawaiian.” At least that’s the way it works here in Hawaii.
July 29th, 2012
You guys keep on talking about Johnson. He is one pitch away from the “all year DL”….every time he pitches.
This!!! Josh is damn good when he pitches, but not likely to be healthy for a playoff push.
braves hold your money
i trade bourn now he is gone next year, get something for him now, play constanza sign hamilton as our left fielder
we are set
July 29th, 20123:00 pm
Wow – that ump has REALLY expanded his zone to the outside corner!
It has nothing to do with chest beating…..an all to do with being a proud alumni of a great university and great football program……and the team does not currently suck. It sucked in 2010….sucked less in 2011….and will not suck in 2012. tampa Gator
If you say so. They sure looked bad the last time I saw them though. maybe we define it differently. What were they ranked last year?
But he is a much better average and on base player….Gator
much better OBP player? Uggla , in the midst of a terrible slump, has a much better OBP that Victorino, and about the same career
Speaking of Hawaiians: Does anyone remember who the Hawaiian starting pitcher that wore #50 in honor of his state was?
With over 2100 hits under his belt, Juan Pierre just might get to 3,000, depending on how much longer he plays. Turning 35 next month, it’s a distinct possibility. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Pete Rose and Rafael Palmeiro are the only players in the 3000 hit club not in the HOF (other than Biggio who might get in). Not saying Pierre is HOF material, but he’s been had a better career than you think, other than having the worst OF arm in MLB history.
July 29th, 20123:01 pm
That was sarcasim directed at….Jerry….who said Bourn was terrible….read the entire post next time.
Chipper got robbed there. Neither of the last 2 strikes were strikes.
July 29th, 20123:02 pm
Kinda funny that CJ uses “Battle Axe” to describe himself. Wasn’t but just a few years ago that the term “battle axe” was used in the South to describe a “wife”. In fact, I worked with a guy that called his “Ol Battle Axe” to her face. (Well, she actually was, and a “B” to boot)
ON GAMEDAY THOSE STRIKES WERE WAY OUTSIDE
UMP HAVE A DATE WITH CHIPPER AT HOOTERS
Getting hotter for the Ump I guess to ring up Chipper on that one.
Agree w/ Tampa, re: Johnson. No thanks.
