A-Bomb sometimes you just have to trust the guy on the mound and allow him to do his thing. Mike gets Ruiz out there and in the process he builds more confidence for himself and his teammates. If doesn’t then hulu hope he learns a lesson, but if the Braves are to turn these you arms/prospects into future stars they need give them the chance to figure things out on their own.

Guy was in total uncharted territory — keep the training wheels on and help him through the 8th against possibly our biggest nemesis.
A trip to the hill to remind him of the fastball would have been in order. Ruiz got a good swing on that 2-strike pitch — didn’t miss it by much. Gamble worked — good for the Braves. But I’m not ready to say Minor’s the deal yet.
If it was the 5th inning — fine. It was the 8th.

Mike Minor gave up four hits in eight innings and all he finished with nothing more than a one run lead?
If nobody wants to take back all the times they’ve thrown Mike Minor under the bus this season at least agree he deserves more than two runs.
You can’t leave that runner at second with a one run lead for Kimbrel either.
Forget about bunting and fielding, the Braves need clutch hitting classes before games.
