we got take advantage of that schedule coming up
If pitcher goes to the plate, Heyward is standing on second before the pitch gets to the catcher. Pitcher throws over and it’s a caught stealing.
Bad luck … not bad base running.
Don’t we have to get to the ninth for that lock to take effect?
Straight one right down the middle
July 24th, 20129:06 pm
If Huddy could twirl one more frame, that’d be nice.
Hudson is at 71 pitches – think he’s fine for this inning
Hugo Z Hackenbush
How does Ozzie Osbourne know Uggla?
it may not be enough to matter but Ozzie just did Dan a favor
July 24th, 20129:07 pm
So far for Greinke tonight-
6 IP 3 hits 1 ER 0 BB 4 K’s
11 ground ball outs 2 fly ball outs
And he hit a home run??? Get him now Frank!!!
One tough dude
Uggla: “I probably needed that.”
maybe that will wake him up
The A Bomb
Best hit of the year for Uggla.
Well, gotta hand it to Ugg’s – he’s a tough little bugger.
Uggla hit in the head (helmet) by Gaudin pitch. Hit him in the left ear flap. Uggla heads to 1st base after brief convo with trainer
good man . if you can’t hit the ball with your bat, use your body….
Head’s so hard, it hardly matters.
Glad he’s ok.
July 24th, 20129:08 pm
How ’bout a Ross bomb, eh.
pinch hit mccann?
Whew!! I don’t know what the Atlanta feed showed but in Miami that hit him square in the ear flap.
Can’t hit for sh*t but you goota give him credit for being tough.
Maybe he should go into boxing!
dan gets his first hit of the night.
Maybe that would knock some sense into him. They Braves seem to be every teams BIT**! Teams taunt them throw at them and there is no retaliation.
Helping the team in whatever way he can. Go Uggs.
Why would any pitcher wont to pitch for the Atlanta Braves. Untill they get some kind of offense that can score some runs they will be lucky to get anybody to come to pitch for them.
July 24th, 20129:09 pm
Chip Caray is such a shill.
In addition to Fregosi for the Braves, other scouts checking out Grienke include the Giants, Angels and Rangers/
At bat #4…The most solid contact Uggla has made in 7 weeks. Unfortunately, it was a ball to the ear hole.
Ross pulls an uggly for uggly since he couldn’t…
July 24th, 20129:10 pm
Guess not. To paraphrase The Joker: THIS LINEUP NEEDS AN ENEMA!!!
Reyes needed the ear holing more than Dan.
July 24th, 20129:11 pm
if the brewer would take teheran as the centerpiece for grienke than im all for it….kid has a ton of potential but is really fighting it this year
weird that Braves scored single runs in four seperate innings. That doesn’t happen too often.
I’m just glad Buffet Brian could get some more well deserved rest tonight…
July 24th, 20129:12 pm
Uggla’s left ear is about twice as big as his right ear.
Gonna be a sunny day in Miami tomorrow. I wonder if they’re gonna have the roof open? I’d say the Braves are vampires, as they hate day games, but even their bats have no bite at night.
See what I did there?
Anybody remember who the guy was years ago, I think it was an American League player that wasn’t real well known, but got hit right in the jaw and he hardly budged. Just stood there and spit a mouth ful of blood and jogged to first.
Next night they had abig sign out there that _______________ was the toughest man alive.
July 24th, 20129:13 pm
I understand why…..no need to educate me.
Wandy is a Pirate.
Details still coming.
3.1 IP, 8 hits, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K for Teheran. Would love to know what his velocity was.
July 24th, 20129:14 pm
Tonight is an example of why Hudson is a top of the line pitcher. He dosent have his best stuff, but battles and k nows how to get guys out. He is not fragile like all of the other starters and he is a true pro.
July 24th, 20129:15 pm
I stand corrected. I would like Huddy to come out for the eighth (80 pitches).
Wandy is a Pirate. It’s does not make the Pirate any better then they were before they made this trade.
Bet Huddy comes back for the eighth.
Wow, Teheran has been “bad” this year… is he just struggling or is is curve that ineffective? Maybe they could trade him…
July 24th, 20129:16 pm
Well done, Tim Hudson…
Tough sob in his own right.
miguel cabrera is an absolute monster….he has played in two of the biggest parks in the majors in his career and continues to put up massive numbers
One Big Dummy
Huddy is still an ace, in my opinion. He might be on the downside of it, but he’s still an ace.
July 24th, 20129:17 pm
Hudson at 80 pitches – 16 straight retired – no need for the bullpen yet, but he bats second here. Hope he stays in. Rest that bullpen!
“3.1 IP, 8 hits, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K for Teheran. Would love to know what his velocity was.”
Im sure someone will say he’s just working on certain pitches down there and that’s why he’s about this bad every start at Gwinnett….
Hudson has retired 16 consecutive Marlins since Reyes’ 2-run homer in 2nd inning. Tough little … Looks so bad early sometimes, then settles in and goes to work.
Unless The Janish gets on base. Then again, with our sad-sack bench, I’d rather let Hudson hit/bunt.
Really, Greg Norton would be an upgrade!
July 24th, 20129:18 pm
Wandy is pretty much an average pitcher so that should help the back of their rotation some
Pirates now aggressively pursuing Pence.
Uggla will overovercome his slump. He will light it up from here on out. Have faith in the man, he is a professional hitter that has to get his feel back. I believe he will be back.
Mike Matheny, Mark. Stood there and spit out blood and a few teeth.
We don’t need no new stinkin players….
July 24th, 20129:19 pm
Let him hit and keep pitching whether Yawnish gets on or not
Teheran is fine….it’s early.
July 24th, 20129:20 pm
Boooo, Fredo. Wouldl like to see one more inning out of Tim.
July 24th, 20129:21 pm
Who’s warming up – have they said?
Pirates now aggressively pursuing Pence.
Now they are getting stupid. Getting nice little upgrades for nothing – which is probably what they gave up for Wandy – is cool, but mortgaging their future in any way is ridiculous.
teheran is a bust…..getting nailed by AAA pitching consistently
Teheran just doesn’t want to get shipped to Milwaukee or Chicago… Not a lot of snow where he’s from.
Thanks Chatt. You know where or site to see it. Would like my boy to see it
July 24th, 20129:22 pm
MiaBchBravesFan – they are closing the roof for the most dumbass reason I ever heard.
A bunch of school kids are coming to the game and they think it may be too hot for them to watch the game without the A/C on.
WTF if a kid wanted to play? Just can’t believe I heard that.
Very surprised Hudson is out of there after 80 pitches in a one run game.
What a stupid move to pull Hudson. STUPID.
Efrim, they haven’t been in the post-season since 1744. Can’t blame ‘em for being a little eager.
Kelevra- The Great Urban Legend regarding the Braves is that they know how to draft, develop, and then have their pitchers go on to have above average careers. Since 1990 only two starting pitchers the Braves have drafted and developed have actually won 100 or more career games.
July 24th, 20129:23 pm
Wow, Michael Bourn is on fire!
I like what the Pirates are doing and I must say congrats to AJ Burnett who should be come back player of the year. Is it me or do the Braves have so many auto matic outs in their line up
I wish Huddy had pitched a hissy fit to stay in. Crap. Huddy could probably finish the game, at least go one more and has as good a chance as Hinski of getting a hit
July 24th, 20129:24 pm
EOF to pitch
Teheran’s value is down. Makes sense to not trade that kid – this deadline or this winter.
So a guy batting .212 can hit for a guy batting .200. STUPID.
Still like to know why he pulled Huddy – he was doing extremely well. Kimbrel for the 9th ok, but….?
well, we will sit until the last minute and make a midnight hour deal that will bring us something like Kevin Milwood…
July 24th, 20129:25 pm
KEY LARGO: that’s why this generation of kids are so soft around the belly. The adults are soft in the head.
Mark, takes a minute to get to it and it’s pretty quick.
Dose Of Reality
There is Greinke, Dempster and then there is everyone else. The Braves will end up with an everyone else.
July 24th, 20129:26 pm
I love EOF, but the more guys you pitch in a game, the more chances you have for someone to have an off night.
July 24th, 20129:28 pm
It’ll be interesting to see what his reason was for pulling Huddy…
July 24th, 20129:29 pm
hung a breaking ball
Dang, Easy E, you weren’t supposed to do that with 2 out and Lee coming up.
Well, old man, Fredi is going to prove to everyone again how to poorly manage a bullpen this year. Hudson is cruising, so Fredi spazzes out and brings in a reliever. When late August and September rolls around, the bullpen will be in tatters.
July 24th, 20129:30 pm
No damage done.
The adults are soft around the middle too…
Lard asses basically.
Send the Marlins Randall Delgado for Josh Johnson.
please just hit everything to papa
Pulled Huddy so he can go on short rest – skip JJ in the rotation and move everyone up a day over the weekend
July 24th, 20129:31 pm
Didn’t realize the guy was the Cards manager now. I bet he brings some toughness to that team and doesn’t deal well with slight sprains and the like.
July 24th, 20129:32 pm
Hudson will be that much more fresh next time out….
EOF didn’t have to work too hard.
Hanson tomorrow…guaranteed hangover…sigh.
hey O´Flaherty is back to his form ,,,now have a 2,72 era…. nice
July 24th, 20129:33 pm
JJ for justin Verlaner….
July 24th, 20129:34 pm
Or Verlander even…
Play is right if front of Prado and he can’t slide?
