Chipper is the only Braves player to have walked more this year than he has struck out at least up until a week or so not positive about that now after Johnson got him a couple times.
3 guaranteed outs with Uggla, Janish , and the pitcher du jour. On second thought, the ptcher du jour probably has a higher average than Uggla or Janish. Maybe we should hit the pitcher 7th.
I would definitely behitting Uggla eighth, maybe even ninth. He’ll put up some numbers and that will bode well for the braves. but, this slump and the one last year have been brutal to watch.
I ‘d never bat him higher than fifth and that reluctantly.
I like Prado and Jason in situations like this. At least they look like they have a clue. Uggla swings at the first 3 pitches and pray he gets a hit! I also like Chipper of course in this situation.
Joe Simpson is such a clown. This mister “know it all” is so typical of the braves organization. A guy they could get cheap, and one that has no talent or experience when it comes to doing his job. But he is a superstar compared to the pretty boy or should i say the clown that thinks he is a pretty boy. This cheerleader knows nothing about baseball, and if it weren’t for his father and grandfather he would never have a job with any major league baseball team. But the braves organization once again could hire a clown that was on the cheap. Wish big mouth Simpson would go down to the field after the game and challenge Reyes. That would be much more entertaining than watching this team play
missed opportunities,,, lets see how this game ends up. We got our horse on the mound, and the other teams starter against the ropes, should be able to pull this one out.
Chipper! The first pitch? Really??? That’s why this team should not waste valuable arms for a starter on a team that has no clue about hitting on a consistent basis. Bases loaded, first pitch hitting is bush league.
If all else fails with this pitching staff, start Hudson, Hanson, Sheets, Minor, Medlin. release JJ! Delgado might be a 2 or 3 inning relief pitcher. If Sheets start to go bad, bring upTerran. I have never been a fan of the rental pitcher situation. Go with what you have and see what happens.
I think Wren will end up acquiring Greinke and signing him to an extension. Seems like the stars are aligning. I mean with the Dempster fiasco, it was stated that other teams have been calling Braves knowing they are willing to include one of the top pitching prospects. I think a deal for Greinke could happen before or at the trade deadline next week.
Again, bases loaded, and a single run… Seems like old times. When this game is over, endujng with another Braves loss, they can look back at their inept at bats. Wow. No clutch on this team.
6:55pm: It’s possible that the Dodgers could acquire Dempster from the Cubs without having to surrender Lee, a source tells Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com (Twitter link).
brvsgrl4life……i dont like ruggiano either but none of his catches have been “amazing” catches….they’ve been fairly routine for mlb level imo….but i understand where ur comin from lol
Thanks “mjn”. He had some classics. Here’s my favorite of all time by Mr. Yogi Berra: “You got to go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours”.
If Lester is really on the market ,go get him and tell Dempster to keep waiting for the Dodgers.Lester needs to get away from the freak show in Boston.Get aggressive Wren and get the Sox to throw in Bard too. .
With Jim Fregosi there watching Greinke, Brewers now realizing Wren is willing to trade one of the top pitching prospects (after the Dempster fiasco), Greinke wanting to play for Atlanta and was said that Braves did have money to get a top of the line starter somehow someway, it seems like the stars are aligning.
Not exactly baseball related, but I work a part-time gig on the side at a running, coaching marathon store more as a hobby than anything else. The wage blows…so I would hope it’s a hobby.
Anyways, the Braves were down 3-1 before the largest lady i’ve ever seen comes into the store. I missed the comeback so she could pick through about 10 running shows and she hated everyone of them storming out because the colors were ugly.
This is why she is the largest lady i’ve ever seen. You are ‘walking’ shoe shopping, weight 300 lbs and you care about color? I wish the government could discontinue her healthcare for stupidity.
Lately every time DU strikes out he asks the ump if the 3rd strike was an out? Right now I don’t think it would really matter one way or the other. The pitcher could pretend to throw the ball, the catcher could smack his mitt with his hand, and Dan would swing.
