how much longer before we declare the deal for Uggla total bust? if this was the hawks we would have already said it was a bust, but because its the braves people give them the benefit of longer time, but pretty much by everyones standards this is a huge bust!

I mean, it’s bizarre. It looked sorta fluky in June and I was holding back some in wanting to get too excited. Really aggressive approach and pitchers are taking advantage of it.

Joe and Chip have the red azz. The Braves are stinking right now and they are finding all kind of things to complain about. Sounds like little league. Last night it was the blown call by Diaz, no matter that the Braves had a single hit until the ninth. Tonight, it’s Reyes watching a ball hit right down the line that could have been foul being totally interpreted as hot dogging. Had the ball Reyes hit have gone 410 to right center, I agree it would have been doggin, but that was 360 down the line. He wasn’t sure at first it was even fair.
Quit crying and play winning baseball.

But .OBP is so important as a hitter. Those two out walks with nobody on much more important than not producing with bases loaded.
Uggla has been down right embarrassing. Sit him down for a couple of games and let the poor guy try to regroup. Absolutely brutal.

We knew Uggla was streaky when we signed him. He’s really bad, then really good, then really bad again, etc. Are we really surprised? He’s a big reason the Braves are as streaky as they are. Win 5, lose 5, win 5, lose 5, etc. Ugh.

Uggla’s struggles and Jason’s free-swinging had me thinking and I checked the stats on Pitches Per Plate Appearance. And surprise surprise. Out of all the everyday players, Uggla has the most – almost 4.5. And the least? Mr. Professional Hitter himself, Chipper, seeing almost one full pitch less every AB. Just goes to show you that Mark Twain was right when he said, “there are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics.”

As far as Dempster, move on! Obviously this guys wants to be somewhere else. Why waste the time depending on him to do anything for the Braves. The problem with moving on is that he was probably the cheapest option out there for the Braves. They wont get Grienki, Garza is just like what we already have, so the Braves basically dont have many options. You have a below average starting pitching staff and a guy your paying 13 million dollars a year to to go 12 for his last 125! Thats a losing combination.

Wouldn’t it be something if Dempster was waiting for the outcome of this game to make up his mind. After seeing the Braves lose to a “pitiful” Marlins team last night, some question marks may have popped up. Possibly he said to himself “I will wait and see what they do tomorrow night. If they win I go to Atlanta, if not, I don’t”. So, his decision could be riding on tonight’s game. Don’t laugh, I’ve heard of stranger things before.
