Don’t blame Dempster for not wanting to be a #1 starter on a pitching staff with 4… #4 starters.
July 24th, 20127:57 pm
I think Freddie and Jason just need to be switched right now. Maybe move McCann in front of Jason as well.
July 24th, 20127:58 pm
Station to station. Shame Hudson was the lead runner.
our timing is always bad
How can you not bat chipper 3rd? We have the worst manger in baseball!
Chief Knockadouble, how you feel about the ump, Lance Diaz, making that terrible call at first last night?
we hit more damn singles where the guy on second does not score than I ever remember seeing b4….at least it feels that way right now
Nicely done, Chipper! Come on, Freddie!
July 24th, 20127:59 pm
is a slam in the play?
Hudson or not, a run has got to score there.
how much longer before we declare the deal for Uggla total bust? if this was the hawks we would have already said it was a bust, but because its the braves people give them the benefit of longer time, but pretty much by everyones standards this is a huge bust!
Bet we dont score here.
I mean, it’s bizarre. It looked sorta fluky in June and I was holding back some in wanting to get too excited. Really aggressive approach and pitchers are taking advantage of it.
July 24th, 20128:00 pm
I wouldn’t want Chipper hitting 3rd because it puts three LH in a row right after him.
They walked him on purpose!
And, after that walk, we have Mr. Uggla to the plate w/the bases loaded – holding my breath.
Terrific at bat, Freeman!
Uggla with the bases loaded. What are the odds we don’t score with him at the dish?
Uggla about to break loose!!!!!!
What A Shame

Chip says that Reyes admired that homer 10-12 seconds before he started his trot. What a dumbass he is. Yeah, he admired it, but in 12 seconds he had touched home plate already”
Joe and Chip have the red azz. The Braves are stinking right now and they are finding all kind of things to complain about. Sounds like little league. Last night it was the blown call by Diaz, no matter that the Braves had a single hit until the ninth. Tonight, it’s Reyes watching a ball hit right down the line that could have been foul being totally interpreted as hot dogging. Had the ball Reyes hit have gone 410 to right center, I agree it would have been doggin, but that was 360 down the line. He wasn’t sure at first it was even fair.
Quit crying and play winning baseball.
July 24th, 20128:01 pm
Either a walk or a HBP is the only way this fool will get a run across.
doesn’t Burley own us???? Fish let us down.
And here comes useless Uggla!
That will work!
Braves waiting on Dempster, considering other options
Great job by Freeman to take a walk in that situation. Everyone else is working the count and putting together a good plate appearance…..
Perfect spot for Uggla to break out. Bases Loaded vs Former Team.
Uggla is black hole in this offense
July 24th, 20128:02 pm
no breaks for us
What A Shame, I didn’t realize Joe and Chip were on the team.
hahahahahaha! He is miserable!
LOL wow. Im speechless at this point.
going back to last year the Braves have lost 16 monday games in a row now..8-22-11 vs cubs last monday win
Well there ya go – left another 3 runners on base. Can’t blow these chances and expect to win.
I’m really starting to hate uggla
1957 Braves Fan
Hudson has to keep us in this game.
July 24th, 20128:03 pm
Does Marlins pitching coach, Randy St. Clair have a “noticeable limp” or does he have one of those “unnoticeable limps”?
Dempster or not this team is a joke.
Is RUGGIANO faster than BOURN?? He’s all over the place
my god uggla sucks
We paid to get rid of Lowe! Lets pass the hat for getting rid of Uggla!
July 24th, 20128:04 pm
I know Chipper has said he’s retiring, but I wonder if some AL teams will quietly call to ask if he’d reconsider. Still a really good hitter.
Would have been nice to have had ross hitting before danny
Man, you can feel Frank Wren getting more desperate with every inning.
July 24th, 20128:05 pm
Go tell “Dumpster” to f off.
Worthless Dan…bases loaded…as usual…Worthless Dan, the consummate FAILURE. Inning over. That Braves fans is why he IS WORTHLESS DAN UGGLA.
Hugo Z Hackenbush
1960’s sitcom: “Waiting For Dempster”
Dempster is waiting on a contender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice catch there Uggla. Way to make a play and help the team!
uggla again, lives up to expectations….how long will it take for him to be benched?
July 24th, 20128:06 pm
You’d think, if you’re coming to the plate in a slump with the bases loaded, and the pitcher having just walked in a run, you might wait for a called strike before swinging.
Dump the Dumpster and move on to something less stinky.
Bases loaded an Dan swings at 2 balls out of the zone and pops out! Wow how long will this go on? This may turn out to be the worse moves the Braves ever made! This guys is clueless and there are no signs of recovery.
“Braves waiting on Dempster”
Well there’s problem number one.
C’mon Joe and Chip, get off your soap box. Guys have been watching homers since way back when Ruth was doing it.
TNScott – DITTO
What would happen to you and me on our job if we did not produce like uggla is not producing on his job?
July 24th, 2012
What A Shame, I didn’t realize Joe and Chip were on the team.”:
They aren’t on the team. They are the appologists for the team.
July 24th, 20128:07 pm
But .OBP is so important as a hitter. Those two out walks with nobody on much more important than not producing with bases loaded.
Uggla has been down right embarrassing. Sit him down for a couple of games and let the poor guy try to regroup. Absolutely brutal.
Joe Simpson is now “obsessed” with Jose Reyes. Maybe he will go down to the clubhouse after the game and challenge him to a duel. Surely Chip will stand behind him.
that worked out good for the Fish, didn’t give in to Freeman and risk him doing some damage (and they’d still lead the game by walking him) and then pitch to Lost in Space instead.
rt…..you are probably right.
We knew Uggla was streaky when we signed him. He’s really bad, then really good, then really bad again, etc. Are we really surprised? He’s a big reason the Braves are as streaky as they are. Win 5, lose 5, win 5, lose 5, etc. Ugh.
braves need to forget about dempster…..i dont want to be his sloppy seconds….go after someone else and let him rot away on the cubs
I agree TNScott!
July 24th, 20128:08 pm
I really, really don’t like that Ruggiano guy. Braves gotta find a way to hit them to other areas of the park.
How about a few high fives for Uggla? Not
Uggla = useless baseball player for half a season.
Or at least be sitting on a FB and let anyhting else go but he hacks at a curve and fouls it off
July 24th, 20128:09 pm
Uggla’s struggles and Jason’s free-swinging had me thinking and I checked the stats on Pitches Per Plate Appearance. And surprise surprise. Out of all the everyday players, Uggla has the most – almost 4.5. And the least? Mr. Professional Hitter himself, Chipper, seeing almost one full pitch less every AB. Just goes to show you that Mark Twain was right when he said, “there are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics.”
Pitcher struggling with command and Fuggla swings at the first two balls and pops out meekly to CF. And for the 100th time we hear well at least defense has not been affected by his horrible offense.
He must have an internal problem….Viral cerebralibriumextenditis
Not that any of these losers, outside of Chipper (and Freeman today), would have done anything with the bases loaded; but why the heck does every RISP situation has to find the useless Uggla when he’s struggling?
July 24th, 20128:10 pm
As far as Dempster, move on! Obviously this guys wants to be somewhere else. Why waste the time depending on him to do anything for the Braves. The problem with moving on is that he was probably the cheapest option out there for the Braves. They wont get Grienki, Garza is just like what we already have, so the Braves basically dont have many options. You have a below average starting pitching staff and a guy your paying 13 million dollars a year to to go 12 for his last 125! Thats a losing combination.
tbbravesfan…..we would be canned lol
July 24th, 20128:11 pm
Ross continues to produce as our backup catcher.
Yanish is bullish
Uggla has done nothing and I mean nothing for at least 40 games. That’s 25% of the season. Do you wonder why the Braves can’t win.
July 24th, 20128:12 pm
“there are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics.”
Twain quoted that, he did not originate it IIRC
Time to waste an out, I hope.
Toward 3rd, I hope
Wouldn’t it be something if Dempster was waiting for the outcome of this game to make up his mind. After seeing the Braves lose to a “pitiful” Marlins team last night, some question marks may have popped up. Possibly he said to himself “I will wait and see what they do tomorrow night. If they win I go to Atlanta, if not, I don’t”. So, his decision could be riding on tonight’s game. Don’t laugh, I’ve heard of stranger things before.
Note to Jason: observe your far-less-heralded teammate Paul Janish execsie patience at the plate and wait for a good pitch to hit.
Everyone is hitting this guy except for Heyward and Uggla.
Illini, that’s interesting considering Chipper is still walking at a healthy rate. Must mean he puts the ball in play very often when he does swing, while Uggla flails and misses a lot.
July 24th, 20128:13 pm
Shame ross was not batting with bases loaded
Jesus, can’t even sacrifice.
Down goes Uggla! Down goes Uggla! Down goes Uggla!
July 24th, 20128:14 pm
damn ross is slow
That has to be toward 3rd with runners on 1st and 2nd
That bunt was pure geniusness!
nolie: yeah, could very well be. Have heard that before, and yet no one seems to know who exactly originally coined that phrase.
Freddi needs to let pastor bunt for hudson
Good baserunning by Janish there.
July 24th, 20128:15 pm
Ok Prado – be a hero
Poor Hudson gets credit for hitting into a fielders’ choice.
come on prado
Like I said, everyone is hitting him….
He’ll rip it good.
Now let’s get this damn run home for the sake of mental health and stability of thought
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
