G. Blanco seems to be destined to play the role of Former Braves who become pests when they us as if they are extra motivated to prove the team wrong for dumping them….

Rick Stankiel is a case in point he hits against no one but us…

Missed call hurt, but he shouldn’t have walked either. JJ needs to suck it up and hold them at 1 run. We’ll be fine – score one or two here.

The umps really have been bad this year. What a piss call at 2B.

And it helps if JJ doesn’t walk the lead off guy and If Mac can make a good throw on a pitch out.

Oh well…..ballgame!!

definitely not gonna argue cabravesfan. Ump should’ve made a better call, but a cleaner all round relay would have helped the ump to not screwup.

JJ had him 0-2, that base hit shoul not have happened. Big league pitchers are paid alot of money to put people away and if JJ and Tommy can’t do that consistently they need to pick a different profession.

Tomahawkin, I don’t know where people have gotten the idea that Rick Ankiel hits the Braves well. He has a 215/260/398 line against them.

Jerry

The thing about Zito’s curve is that the Hitters should be able to sit back on it better because his fastball isn’t gonna knock the bat outta anyone’s hand. But, he’s getting people out someway, so what do I know?

JJ hit 92 MPH on his fastball twice in the last 2 AB’s (when I started watching). He definitely wasn’t hitting 92 MPH last year during the 1st half of the year when he was dominant.

Edit: It’s still gotta be tough when you know you’re going to get nothing out of the 7th and 8th hitters in your lineup. Obviously you don’t expect anything out of the 9 hole so you know with the Braves you’re getting nothing from 7,8,9 (Uggla, Janish, Pitcher). Uggla has to step it up soon I mean Fredi G already can’t justify playing him every single day… Uggla is pathetic…

Gotta funny feeling Zito is going to absolutely shut down the Braves for about 6 innings. He made quick work of Bourn and Prado.

Thought J-Hey had a good AB against him even though he got out with a weak pop up. That called 2nd strike was a complete joke it was 3 inches above the dirt even the crowd knew it and boo’d like crazy. Then J-Hey smoked a ball that ended up being just foul down the right field line that would’ve easily been a double if it was a foot or 2 to the left.

I can already tell this Ump is terrible – at least 3 called strikes in the bottom half of the 1st we’re CLEARLY out of the strike zone….

Andrelton Simmons

July 17th, 2012
7:41 pm

The biggest difference outside on offense as far as not have Simmons will be his ability to change over the lineup by getting a hit and getting the Braves pitcher up at the plate which allowed Michael Bourn to bat to lead off the next inning. Janish isn’t going to be able to do that at the same rate Simmons did and that’s going to hurt us having to start the next inning off with JJ or Hanson or Sheets or Hudson or Minor coming up to bat and basically being an automatic out.

MLB Network is claiming Chipper’s RBI numbers are fudged because some people stats for players who only played 3rd base vs. those who mostly played 3rd base. Idiots the numbers aren’t fake or fudged it depends on how you present them and if people don’t listen to how you present them it doesn’t make them fake or wrong people just need to read/listen.
