J.J. is a joke. The guy should be sent back to Gwinnett. Yet another non quality start by a braves pitcher, what a SHOCK!! Too bad this clown couldn’t pitch better, so the braves could trade him. Now, no one will want this loser. Add to that the fact that Larry Jones has about as much range as my grandmother at 3rd base, and you have a sinking ship. Said it before many times, this is a .500 team at best, and with no pitching and no defense, it will only get worse during the dog days of summer. Wren was so desperate to cover his ass that he brought back J.J, who had shown he had nothing in AAA, but yet it is what it is. The braves have no pitching, no manager, and certainly no G.M. And they have a 40 yr old that moves like he is in quicksand playing 3rd. base. What a joke this team is. OOPS, Zito who is over 40 just got a hit off of the wonderful J.J., let’s see, 8 hits, 5 runs, in 3 1/3 innings, what a great job J.J and WREN

Not trying to completely stick up for JJ, but has anyone noticed how badly Simmons is being missed? I’ve seen like 3 line drives right at shortstop that Simmons wouldve gotten to whether it be his glove or just placement on the field… Thoughts?

Jurjjens is throwing BP. I think we lead the league in starting pitchers who can’t reach 90. And JJ’s command is awful.

Yes, although there is at least one who pitches ever few days with a 90+ fastball regularly but can’t crack the rotation because of the manager.

JJ has pitched with his head up his nut cup. Fredi hasn’t seemed to notice. (No surprise there.) Prado, Bourn, and Chipper have mailed this game in, defensively…and then there is Worthless Dan Uggla, who continues to be his typical Worhless Dan self. I feel badly for anyone who paid money to watch a most unprofessional effort from the Atlanta Braves.
What a joke. Pitiful, pathetic, and disgusting.
Time to trun to another game….an professional baseball game, played with a measure of actual effort.

This is why talking about Jurrjens’ “resurgence” was a little premature. He still wasn’t striking out hitters. When your stuff isn’t good enough to strikeout out even 4 per 9, eventually, this is what’s going to happen. With worse luck, this could have happened in just about any of his starts since Boston. Jurrjens is just not a very good pitcher right now. Maybe he’s hurt, maybe he’s just lost it. But something has to happen to fix this, or it’s over for him.

Truth be told, for a pitcher of JJ’s ilk, too much rest is a bad thing. He’ll look better next start. Power pitchers like Ben Sheets always benefit from a lot of rest. Hanson, Hudson, JJ, and Minor have the kind of mechanics that demand constant reps; too much rest makes ‘em look lost.

No starter since the break not named Sheets has done well. He had a bad night but overall he has been better than what he was before his demotion. Didn’t do that tonight and got lit up like most of our starters post all-star break.
