yeah tiger, thats the current thinking…my strategy and I’m sticking to it.
A-B I think Ozzie is a competent in game manager, not really his problem

In a one run game with a shaky pen against a good team, you get that extra run however you can

Danga/tiger

My thoughts exactly. Earl Weaver had it right. If they want to give us an out, we’ll take it.

Yeah I’m sure for some of you it make you throw up in your mouths.

But I’m of the belief that once in awhile you change the cadence of how you manage.

EXAMPLE: Mets were sitting on Hanson’s curveball the other night. They were stealing signs. But Fredi had ZERO idea of that.

You have a guy on 2nd in scoring position, and you call for two consecutive bunts? Sickening.

But…smallball! Tradition! Grit! Whitey!

Blasphemer!

Whitey vs Earl.

A Bomb

I’m all for shaking things up from time to time, but I just don’t like the bunt normally. (unless it’s the pitcher getting a runner over with less than 2 outs) Once in a while I like going for a single run when you are up against a big arm.

two bunts? yes sickening. even Fredo is not that dumb. talk about playing for one run and nothing more in a situation where one run is not necessarily a game winner…..
maybe I will take back that endorsement of Ozzie’s competency

DS1

plus, they had their best hitter (Reyes) get the first bunt with a runner on 2nd. That’s kinda like having Chipper or Prado bunt over somebody with no outs.

Nah, I don’t like it.

But I sure love to watch a well executed squeeze!

cab – bunting him to 2nd don’t bother me…a squeeze don’t bother me either. Bunting a runner to 3B and then squeezing him is pretty brutal.

I know it’s not a bunt. But the result is generally the same. You trade an out to move the runner up. And with the speed of Reyes and Bonifacio, the chances of a bunt single are better than with most guys…

Tiger – Being an avid AT&T supporter, I want to be the first to heap the praise on your people who make those awe inspiring commercials that seem to run 8 to 10 times between every inning. I sometimes call other AT&T customers to remind them when a commercial is about to be repeated for the 100,000th time or that I changed the channel to keep from watching an especially putrid ad.
