Maybe move Hanson to the Angels next offseason for Bourjos and a prospect or 2….
It would gain us some more $$$ to get a left fielder too, Bourjos won’t bring as much in arby as Hanson

Hanson needs to figure out what he wants his career to be and start putting in the work necessary to be not only a better pitcher, but a better athlete in general.
There are too many pieces and movements to his delivery to consider him a long-term Brave at this point. Guy needs a trainer who will break him down and make what he does well BETTER and make what he doesn’t do well ACCEPTABLE.
Ball is in his court.

All I keep hearing is how Uggla will catch fire in the second half and carry this team. Errrr, I’m still waiting. I actually believe this slump of his will continue for most of this season because he just isn’t that good. But some of you will continue to fool yourself into believing otherwise.

A Bomb you’re right – he was waiting for both breaking balls – looked like he knew they were coming. I’d like to see a shot from behind home plate to see what the runner at second was doing. Or, the batter was just looking breaking ball and fighting off fastballs.

It has become pretty much a foregone conclusion that if a Braves pitcher leaves the game with runners on base, the next pitcher who comes enters will promptly allow those inherited runners to cross home plate.

I don’t disagree with Nick B — I would think of putting Hanson on the market and see what you can get.
I am not so hot on Bourjos though, would want a better player and a couple of prospects maybe. And you have to get the right prospects.
Now how about Hanson for Will Myers and Hochevar. Hochevar has not been good but there is still mid rotaion upside.

Actually, this is what happens when you don’t have good starting pitching. I remember a time when everybody discussed who the Braves were going to keep between JJ and Hanson. Both have severely broken down from what they used to be.

I was hoping they would show the wide shot from behind home on the line drive to Prado and the man that just scored was on second.
I would bet the farm that Uggla was flat footed until the ball was caught but by then it was too late. Right handed hitter was up and yes he was on the edge of the grass to try and knock down base hits but he was cheating toward 2nd. If not an out it should have been much closer.

Its a catch 22 ncbraves90, to get a good proven SP, you have to pay at least 15 mill per to keep him & the prospects that you are talking about could be 15, 16 win per yr pitchers in a couple of yrs.
All of the available proven pitchers have wrinkles of some kind whether it be age, inconsistency or in the case of Grienke, personal issues wth handling pressure. Do you want to commit in the high teen to even 20 mil per yr for any of the guys mentioned. Even Hammels has his wrinkles.
Garza is one guy who has time left on his deal and he is not really that great.
Its not that clear cut easy of a decision and note the ownership and constaiints that Mr. Wren is under. Does this fit for us — in my opinion I really do not know.
You are dealing with big $$$$$$$$$$ and if it busts it can screw you for a long time.

About the only evidence I have is what I see every day. A guy who tries to only do one thing and that is put the ball out of the ballpark. He tries to pull everything in his zeal to hit it out. And he looks no closer to being successful right now than he was a month ago. All the stats in the world mean nothing right now.

the umpires have the authority to place the runners where they thought they should be because of an improper call. (rule 9.02 – c)
Just want to be clear because i’m willing to bet in a different game and a different umpire crew… the rule/explanation will be different and somehow the Braves will get screwed and Fredi G. will not argue. (lol)
