With the speculation around trading for Upton I think I’ll pass. Theres obviously a reason that Arizona has soured on him and at a young age. Plus his home/away splits are pretty drastic. I’d rather hold on to a guy in Prado that has shown hes a .300 hitter and acquire an OF bat through other scenarios that might arise.

wow..someone called Kate Upton “Fat Piggie”
the blogger wrote that Upton was “confidently lumbering up the runway like there’s a buffet at the end of it,” and also called her a “little piggie” with “huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition … .”
She continued: “Did you know that humans are 80% genetically identical to cows? Well, allow me to prove it to you… .” That line was followed by an unflattering photo of the back of Upton’s lingerie-clad body on the runway.

When players get this close (to free agency), there’s not many that will sign, at that (talent) level,” said Melvin. “He’s [Greinke's] a difference-maker to a team that’s got a chance to go to the post-season. Unless you’re raising the bar (to a higher salary), you usually go on the market.”

I don’t advocate intentionally injuring anyone, but if I were the Mets I’d be busting Wilson inside heat and sliders all weekend, not to mention going hard after him on the DP turns and steals.
This is the face of a passive organization, playing out the string. Wren tipped his hand over the winter, loudly. Sure, he might make a move or two, but when you do not have a viable starting shortstop available and do nothing to plug the hole everyone, players included, gets the message. I truly believe they don’t much care they missed the playoffs last year – I mean, what were the repercussions?

I’m not trying to be funny or off-color here, but when a baby arrives a week ahead of its due date, it doesn’t fall into the “miscarriage” category. It’s just an early baby.
The 4 year old came 2 weeks early…. ummmmmm… ok, bad example. Still, most babies born within a few weeks don’t run much risk of complications.

Dave (DC): Given Gilmartin’s rise and Minor’s struggles: who is the better pro long term?

AC Slater (Atlanta): Do you think the fall of Julio Teheran is something Braves fans should be worried about? I dont understand how someone could go from being one of the nastiest pitchers in Minor League baseball last year to an average minor league pitcher?
Matthew Eddy: Seems like every Braves pitching success like Brandon Beachy or Craig Kimbrel is counterbalanced by a stumble by Teheran, Jair Jurrjens or Mike Minor or injury to Tommy Hanson or Arodys Vizcaino. I guess it proves the hoary old cliche that a team can never have too much pitching. Ultimately, the Braves will wring value out of Teheran, in my opinion, because his changeup is legitimately an outstanding swing-and-miss pitch and his fastball control, when he’s at his best, is also excellent. If he can’t iron out the command and the curveball, then he still has a career in the bullpen.

Would not want either Greinke or Upton. The cost would be to high with to many question marks attached. If Sheets isn’t the answer then would prefer the Braves seeing what it would take to get Dempster. The number one priority now should be to strengthen the bench, not loose the off season flexibility to add top shelf offense whether its needed in CF, LF, or 3B.

Another reason, if I were GM, players would not be allowed to have families. Just build a bunker under the stadium and make all the players live there and eat, breathe and sleep baseball. If they need certain things satisfied, just keep plenty of hookers around. I’m sure Uggy can give BiBi a call and round up a few.
