Here you go. Just plain negligence on Wren’s part. It would have cost them nothing to have some available for this game. Wren should be fired for this in my opinion.

Wilson is no genius…let me jab my fingers into the ground and tear off a nail, break a finger, do something to disable myself right after Hudson screws up again and just before Bourn tries to miss the ball too and let the guy score….
What did I miss?

This game has just turned to shyt, in more ways than one. If the Braves were trying to make a trade, this hurts that because the other team will just play hard ball more. That lame ass Pastornicky will be up tomorrow. Just great.

I know it’s a different position and different angle of ball off the bat and different resposibilities, but dont say the msn cant play the position if you dont know…

Waiting to see what’s good with Jack Wilson. If he has to be DLed as well, we’re gonna need to find two SS… or a SS and a LF.
Add me to the “blame Frank Wren” crowd. Always, always, ALWAYS have a solid contingency plan at your captain positions: C, SS, and CF.

Playing a position in an emergency and playing a position on a regular basis are NOT the same thing. Matt Diaz can play catcher in an emergency, but he’s not going to be an everyday catcher. Marteen CAN play short, but he is NOT going to be an everyday player at that position.

Sure, Prado can play in a pinch, but why should he be in that position (not to mention we’re short on the bench now. too). There’s just no reason for it. They’ve known for days they needed a shortstop. Even if they’re close on a trade, they would have known last night at least that they wouldn’t have one completed in time to get the new guy here. All they had to do was call up Pastor, Wilson, Gotay, anybody. If the trade comes through tonight or tomorrow, send them back. There’s nothing that says they can’t be sent back the next day.

Marteen is the best baseball player in the National League. Not the best hitter, not the best fielder but when you consider everyhting he’s the best plain-out ball player. No other player can do what he does. Go from left to 2nd to 1st to SS and do them all well. Then he is a contact hitter. Prototype 2 hitter. Really a remarkable player.
Problem is, unless you see him every day like we do, you would never know how good he really is so other people don’t get the pleasure of watching him.

Here we are in the 4th inning and here is a dose of reality. We have nothing left on the bench. Hinske is in left field, and Diaz is now the backup catcher since McCann is not here. That means he more than likely won’t be used as a pinch hitter if the need arose.
