Man, he can’t come back. .350BA or not. That ship has sailed here. You gotta reach down low, like Kenny Lofton low to find a worse Brave in recent memory.
“WW” at least it was the right tune, he didn’t mess it up, and there were no wardrobe malfunctions! MLB has learned from watching the hip hop and rock stars and their antics on the Super Bowls, etc.
I wonder if Chipper is still standing behind his he wouldn’t hate Larussa if he didn’t get into this game stance? Or maybe actually being at the game is changing his mind and he too wants to get in on this NL Domination action?
Tomahawkin, I will have to disagree with you. I intensely dislike Pestorino and have never wanted him on my team. Uggla was the one I loved to hate but wanted him on my team and I got that wish.
One thing a little unusual about tonight’s AS game. The little town of Leesburg, GA(near Albany) has 3 favorite sons featured prominently. Phillip Phillips, the AI winner, sung before the game, Luke Bryan with the anthem, and Buster Posey, the NL starting catcher are all 3 from Leesburg. Sounds like some “good genes” in the water there!
great blog by our blogmeister DOB and good discussion. Some thoughts:
1. It is not a slam on Chipper for people to say that Mike Schmidt was the best hitting 3B of all time. Chipper is a top 5 all time 3B and top 5 all time switch hitter. He, in my book, makes the best charging, barehanded play I have ever seen 3B make and Chipper makes it look routine. I think Chipper’s legacy will stand just fine on its own
2. As far as Melky goes, amazing how play can improve when one gets in good shape.
3. Kenny Lofton is the worst Brave of your recent memory Count? The blog would have a field day recounting the worst Braves players or worst player season they remember since Kenny Lofton was a Brave. Raul Mondesi? Chris Woodward? Greg Norton? Proctor?
You guys can talk shyt about Victorino all you want, but just remember that last year it was him and Charlie Manuel that caught our player (I think it was Freeman) from falling into their dugout and possibly hurting himself really bad. That was a class move on both of their parts. I doubt that anyone in our dugout would have done the same because every time an opposing player come close to our dugout, nobody moves on the bench. I would take Victorino in a second.
