Me too, nolie. Saw in a lengthy post yesterday or the day before a critique of tehrans fastball. Said it had a tendency to come in straight. Always thought that delgados ball moves a bit more, but hard to tell on tv. Still think that tehrans curve broke pretty well last start with the big boys.

Man, tipping off pitches… With all of today’s technology, that probably wasn’t ever a problem years ago. Or, at least not to today’s degree.

You indicated that you even know “which fake account name(s)” I allegedly post under, so, you’ve put some thought into this or something and probably falsely attribute things to me which are not mine. See where I’m coming from on that?
You can dislike ol’ count_schemula all you want, but that’s it, because I don’t post under any other name(s). Like I said, prove it and I’ll mail you $100 so you get a nice dinner out courtesy of the defamer. But if you can’t prove it, than you should apologize for being so falsely adamant about it.

For what it’s worth, I read a lot more than I post, and I can see why… STRONGLY see why nolie thinks you have different monikers.
There’s no proof, as I said, but if you asked for my opinion, you wouldn’t like it…

I’ve lobbied for forums where you can register, and stuff like that to make people accountable and to facilitate the ability to look up what people said in the past, but this is just a WordPress blog We can’t even post pics or links. I’ll troll some if we’re trollin’. But it’s pretty important to me, enough to make this ridiculous stink about it, that people realize that this is the name I use. Exclusively.
I think it’s a bit of big deal if people are running around thinking that people say things under multiple accounts and since we have no idea which account he or you or anyone else thinks is someone else, then that means people could think someone offensive or otherwise that they didn’t.
Interesting that you too think STRONGLY about this.

Another forum I’m on, Quora, makes you use your real name. That would be a bit much for people here, but, we discuss some fairly hardcore and occasionally sensitive or polarizing stuff over there without many problems.
Perhaps much to people’s delight. I’m going to rethink my involvement on an anonymous public forum. It really bothers me that people can actively attribute and run around believing things about you that are not true.
Have fun with it.
Go Braves. Hope Uggla hits his weight. Greinke is one year older than Maddux was. That worked out pretty well. Simmons gives me hope.

Hello eveyone! I would keep Delgado, and trade Minor, or Teharan. Most likely Wren will be targeting a starting pitcher. I would get Greinke, or Dempster. Also I would like Wren to get Justin Upton. How ever he will be interested in starting pitching first. Don’t forget that Wren will also look at SS.

Having a real hard time grasping why they make a move for Greinke. He’s a very good pitcher that would make a difference the remainder of the season and push for the playoffs. Still, you need him to do more with a acquistion cost this high. He did not have a good postseason at all last year. Isn’t that why you go get a pitcher of this caliber? Not to just get in but make a deep push? Too many question marks with him regarding pitching in high pressure games. . Need a starter, but he’s not the answer. For what he costs, have to have total confidence this guy can win a playoff game. I don’t think the risk-reward is worth it.

It’s not a matter of Simmons making the difference – it was a commentary on playing .,500 in the time (six weeks) that he’d be gone and being able to win 92 games as Tomahawkin contended.

Just won’t happen if they only tread water until he returns.

Lew – Got ya. Yeh, I don’t think Simmons makes the difference though if that is the argument. I mean To say they will turn it on after he gets here, seems to be kind of absurd. It’s not like they have been great with or without him. They need their hitters to hit consistently. Bourn and Prado have been consistent. Everyone else seems to be hot/warm or ice cold.

Just like I’ve been saying all along – If the Braves hit and pitch to their potential they will win no matter who plays short. If they don’t, it wouldn’t matter if Ozzie Smith was out there.

Proactive for what though? A starting hitter or a pitcher? Surely not for a no bat, defensive short stop? We already have that in Jack Wilson, who has been a pretty good situational “hitter” this year.

MFin04, obviously your not going to trade for a starting SS of a very high caliber cause once Simmons is back, what would you do with him? So I think your main focus is a starting pitcher, but it can’t be just a mid rotation type.. we’ve got enough of those, we’ve got to get a very good 1 or 2 type starter.

Pitching to their potential is the problem. 15th out of 16th in quality starts, pretty obvious what the issue is here. Shortstop is the least of the worries right now.

I really have no read at all on how good Sheets might or might not be, but there could be an additional benefit to having him on the staff.
We do not have a veteran starting pitcher who pitches like Delgado does. Could be that Sheets presence might be beneficial in The Kid’s development.

So it hitting to their potential. Freeman, Uggla, McCann, well below their potential. Not to mention our main bench bat, Hinske is well below his potential. Heck even Heyward is probably below is potential.

2 years out of baseball and two AA starts. Not really how you plan it the right way but with so many question marks, they really don’t have the timeframe to be patient with Sheets. Got to see what he has right now.

I’d be alright with adding Willingham and Carroll to our bench. I’m just not sure what it would take to get something like this done. I know it shouldn’t take much to get Carroll but knowing the Twins, they’d probably ask for the farm for Willingham and at that price it just won’t be worth it.

They could ask for the farm, but they won’t get bnut a few of the outbuildings for him and maybe a cow or two.
