There are options, and reasonable options. My biggest beef is the selling off of Drew Sutton….
But there are plenty of bench SS’s that can hit better than Wilson. and field better than his now, league avg defense

Most, especially the owner and his dip of a son-in-law, acted like bozo’s.
The only “real” parts were Ozzie’s remorse for his comments about Fidel and you had to feel bad for Gaby. Plus, Heath Bell seems like a stand-up guy.

and a lot of guys who would fit signed two or three year deals last winter(causeing the Braves to pass on them then) so the Braves are not going that route at this point most likely. when you get to that low level there is no guarantee that one guy will outhit another anyway. Wilson could pick it up a bit and some pickup could tank.

many reasons these trades will never happen – monetary, trade package, etc., but I would love to see the Braves trade:
Teheran, Gattis, and Ahmed for Lester and Bard
Prado, Salcedo, and Northcraft for Upton
I will stick to that until after dinner then I will return to reality

I’d like to see Varvaro or Avilan go down to Gwin. and have Delgado go to the bullpen. With Venters out, an arm like Delgado’s would be very useful in the eighth. Minor has to develop consistency, which he will only get with starts. In reality, since Delgado is a legit starter, he needs to go to Gwin. for more seasoning, but he is back next year in my book.

On the Braves’ home page, a stupidly grinning Frank Wren is pondering how to best destroy this franchise. Hey Frank, do us all a favor and don’t trade for anything. The best you can hope for is that Sheets is a steady and competent #4 or #5. With Hudson, JJ, Hanson, and Minor, I am willing to stand pat. I would NOT trade ANY of our young arms for anyone right now – unless someone was willing to trade a LF with 3-4 arb years left who can RAKE…
And I don’t see that happening.

I would trade minor with a few B prospects for Lester. Greinke is the only other one on the market that interests me and with all the other teams lining up for him, the only way we get him is if greinke tells everybody that he wants to go to the braves and that he is going to sign with the braves in the offseason. Even then we would have to agree to an extension below market value. Not happening

With Huddy’s foot and back miseries, I don’t know if we see him next year (is it a club or player option?). With that, JJ (hopefully) being traded, and all the young arms poised, next year’s rotation would be a nice mix of young and rookie by July:
Hanson, Beachy, Minor, Delgado, and Medlen/Teheran/Vizcaino/Gilmartin. Who knows? Sheets might be Comeback POTY and re-sign with us at a hometown discount.

Greinke is one year older than Maddux was and has said he likes the Braves and obviously is not the type to dig NY or LA type cities.
It would be a nice thing if could happen, esp since sounds like Wren would not do it if he did not think he could sign him.
