Simmons fractured his fifth metacarpal which is a bone connecting his pinky finger to his right wrist. The bone is in Simmons’ right hand. For some reason it came out of my mouth as finger in this video, so I wanted to clarify. Thanks.

Really?

Ouch!!!! Of all the things to happen. He was spectacular with glove and surprisingly (to some extent) with bat. How sad. Does this mean we will see Pastornicky?

That’s how most all us talk here in Chattanooga. Reminds me of my neighbor.

RE:BFChris27@11:16PM, well, one out of two. I actually read it as “one-half combo”, which is more accurate anyway. Most on here know which one looks out for the fans, and which one doesn’t.

That finger breaking is all McDowell’s fault, never would have happened if Mazzone was still the pitching coach.
Bring Constanza back up to play SS, he’s a superstar.
go braves

So will Simmons be back before the September call ups or around that time?

Broke my fifth metacarpal end of February this year. Hopefully Simmon’s fracture is not too bad. I broke mine pretty bad.. needed surgery.. 6 weeks in a cast, followed by 4 weeks of physiotherpay to get the range of motion and strength restored.

Can’t lose this guy for 10 weeks! Hope the fracture ain’t bad and he’s back in 4 weeks or so.

The Braves showed what they can do with their full lineup against a struggling and aged team. Unfortunately, they lost Simmons and now must resume after the All-Star break with Wilson or Pasternicky at shortstop. I vote for bringing back Pasternicky because Wilson has no offense at all.

However, Simmons’ range was excellent and it is no accident that the staff ERA lowered substantially after he took over at shortstop.
