“I don’t know what would have to happen for Freddi to go out and back a player or our club on a crappy call”
The ump would motion Fredi to come out of the dugout “Fredi you need to argue this call, I might have missed it and your player is about to get tossed, did you never watch Bobby Cox?”
You guys see this interview with Reggie Jackon saying guys like Niekro and Sutton don’t belong in the Hall?
“I didn’t see Kirby Puckett as a Hall of Famer. I didn’t see Gary Carter as a Hall of Famer. I didn’t see Don Sutton as a Hall of Famer. I didn’t see Phil Niekro as a Hall of Famer. As much as I like Jim Rice, I’m not so sure he’s a Hall of Famer.”
Meds will probably allow those two inherited runners to score. He has been pretty good at doing that of late, which will inflate Minor’s line for the evening.
Damn Freddi. 5 runs up, give him a chance to grow up and maybe do more than he thinks he can. Should have waited 1 more runner or hitter – In my humble opinion.
Do Braves have all-time great outfield? by David Schoenfield
___________________________
Thanks for that link. Been trying to tell folks, with Prado in LF, this outfield is more than just good… it’s special. That’s why we need to trade for Chase Headley and put Marteen in LF. (Weekly Headley Hype officially filed)
I think too many get in too. Some of those mentiioned in fact but not all. The Hall of Fame should be the cream of the crop from any era. Not just good players that lasted a long time.
true but this way Minor who needs his confidence built is beating himself up . no way does he need to get forced out of a game again because he messed up
Hard to believe a guy who had a career .318 average, 2304 hits, won six Gold Gloves, won six Silver Sluggers, made ten All-Star Games, finished in the top 10 of MVP voting for his league seven times and won two World Series titles in twelve seasons could make the Hall, but Kirby Puckett somehow managed to slum his way in there.
nolie—Really? I know injuries have always been an issue, but he really has done the job for us in a lot of tight situations. You don’t trust the Aussie?
Neither am I. He was outstanding in 2007 and 2009, but barely above average in 2010. It is difficult for me to believe that he will be a savior out of the pen if and when he makes his return.

Take a page from Nolan and the Rangers – Make the starters go deep into games.
