Jason’s S. C………How many different names do you use on these blogs?
July 5th, 201210:31 am
Dan Uggla’s foul balls have been more pronounced. The drought may be nearing an end.

Just one my friend to tell you have a bunch of losers.
July 5th, 201210:37 am
“People will you get a clue, UGGLA is NOT the problem. His OBP is 2nd highest on the team behind Chipper and Prado, the SAME as Michael Bourn. He is what he is, he is streaky but he still gets on base.”
Pull your head away from the stat tables and watch the games. Dan Uggla is paid to drive in runs. You can say he’s paid to “create runs”, fine, either way when he goes into one of these deep slumps he’s not getting his job done. His averages over the entire season are NOT contributing to the Braves winning games in June and July; Braves have to look at what kind of player he will be today, tomorrow, and moving forward. Last year Uggla had essentially ONE good month and FIVE sub-par to terrbible months. This year he has had two decent months and now one bad month and counting. Braves are not going to win with that kind of contribution from a player counted on to drive in runs and provide right-handed balance in the middle of the lineup.
July 5th, 201210:41 am
Trade Wren and Fredi for Dayton Moore and Ned Yost.
Dan Uggla an AllStar. Give me a break. Dan – do the right thing and refuse to play since you are not deserving. I think you struck out again as I typed this.
July 5th, 201210:43 am
Face it this team stinks.
July 5th, 201210:49 am
@reckincingball Wake up from your Dreamland. Braves are DONE!
July 5th, 201210:52 am
Two players that have recently been a cleanup hitter for the Braves:
Player one’s 162 game average: .256/.339/.487 OPS: .826, 32 HR 96 RBI
Player two’s 162 game average: .256/.344/.476 OPS: .820, 32 HR 94 RBI
Anyone guess these two players’ names? Little hint: The Braves won quite a bit with player one in the cleanup spot for years.
A: Player one is Andruw Jones, Player two is Dan Uggla.
Now, considering CF is a more traditional source of offense than 2B, and added to Uggla’s stats we now have Bourne in CF, lets just drop all the complaining about Uggla’s offense.
You want to complain and run him out of town? Who did we have in CF over the next four years after getting rid of those offensive numbers? Mark Kotsay and Nate McLouth. You really want to run off those types of numbers again?

I am at my wit’s end with this team. We have so much freaking talent. We know this team can hit. Simmons was a great move for us. I am typically not negative as baseball is a long season, but I have long been on the Fire Fredi bandwagon since mid-season last year. I don’t have all the answers, but unforutnately, Fredi doesn’t seem to either and he is paid to do so. I am happy someone asked a somewhat tricky question on how long Fredi was going to keep running Venters out there.
The team Brass needs to let the fanbase know something about the direction of this team and that it will not accept mediocrity. Until they do, the fanbase is rightfully going to question this team’s commitment. In order of team needs:
Remove Fredi Gonzalez – I just don’t see how people can defend this guy. I like the hire initially, but it simply isn’t working out.
Remove Roger McDowell – I realize Leo Mazzone had issues in Baltimore, but can you truly say that Roger and Leo are anywhere close to each other. Our pitchers, all of them except Kimbrel, have regressed. I don’t know enough to say whether or not the rash of injuries can be put on McDowell, but the production and adaptation of these pitchers is non-existant.
Get another top of the rotation pitcher and demote Minor…or move him to the bullpen.
Get a lefty middle reliever and if possible another reliever.
Our division is not going to get any easier in the near future. The Phillies are down big time, but you know they will spend and be back. The Nats are only going to get better, which is scary. The Mets should be commended for their play. If you give us their team and our management staff, we would be 15 games under 500. The Marlins are still a train-wreck. The time is now and the season is still salvageable. Make the hard decision Frank to remove Fredi and Roger, as well as get Liberty Media to step up for a top-tier pitcher. And if we don’t resign Bourn, you may as well flush the whole team now. How can you not like the passion and intensity Bourn and Prado display every single game?
July 5th, 201211:06 am
watching chipper round third and going for home reminded me of sid’s slide, except chipper looked BACK and sid went forward. Painful thing to watch…..
July 5th, 201211:08 am
Hey, I’ve got a suggestion. Let’s stop printing this “Clubhouse Quotes” article when they lose. I’m tired of hearing the same old stories.
July 5th, 201211:19 am
Dawg Dad, I didn’t say Uggla wasn’t struggling and yes I would prefer someone more consistent but most power hitters are streaky and he has hit 30 HRS and driven in a lot of runs. Unless we go get and pay McCutcheon or a big time hitter, that is what you get. He is a contributor (as are all players outside of Bourn and Prado) to the problems but he still gets on base more than most on the team and will likely have over 100 RBIs. McCann and situational hitting are killing as as is the starters and middle relief. Every team and player goes into slumps but over the life of the season the starters and bullpen are killing us.
Sitting in CF
July 5th, 201211:25 am
It’s clear now that we are not going to catch the Nats. They are just plain better than us. Their # 3 and 4 starters are prob better than our #1. The Braves aren’t terrible. They are just average. I’ve come to grips with this and I don’t get as upset anymore. Uggla will always hold us back. Give me little Pedroia and he would have twice as many RBI’s as Uggs at this point b/c he makes contact. I’m worried that Bourn and Prado are going to get tired of getting on without scoring.
July 5th, 201211:39 am
Randoms…guess Chipper forgot to ‘bring it’ last night…wonder what, and which, his teammates thought about Chipper’s comment about those that don’t seem to be trying to ‘bring it’ every night?…count me in as one of the ‘conspiracy theorists’ that believes that Larussa (sp?) chose Chipper to replace Kemp – even though he, Chipper, was leading in the supplemental ‘vote in’ – so the Cardinal, Freez (again the spelling is suspect) would have a chance…the way things are going, I put the ‘over/under’, including both the date and the person, as to who/when a Brave will finally admit that ‘We suck!’…I say Chipper by the ‘ides’ of August.
July 5th, 201211:40 am
Did anyone catch Chipper’s clubhouse interview the other day? He said he busts his butt all the time, as the Phillies did last season, and he needs to see more of that from the other Braves. Is he arrogant or what. Uggla, Simmons, Prado, Freeman, Bourne and Heyward all bust their butts harder than Chipper does.
This team is mediocre, just as the Braves were in the 80s. The only difference is those Braves were led on the field by the likable Dale Murphy, and this team by the unlikable Chipper. At least, in losing, they had one big star who was a good guy worth cheering for.
July 5th, 201211:43 am
Make a comment here: WHY BOTHER.
July 5th, 201211:59 am
The Braves are truly a boring product. Teams like the Phillies and Yankees go after players like Cliff Lee, Roy Haliday and C.C. Sabathia, while the Braves go get guys like Derek Lowe and Ben Sheets. They win a few, they lose a few, and never lead the division anymore. The TV announcers and blog hosts spin positives, while the fans fume. It has all become very, very tiring and frankly, it’s becoming harder and harder to care.
here comes the judge
July 5th, 201212:01 pm
Just because Matt Garza (4-6 era 4.01) beats Mike Minor tonight is no reason to trade for him even though his era will come down quite a bit.
“Teams like the Phillies and Yankees go after players like Cliff Lee, Roy Haliday”
Phillies are in last place.
July 5th, 201212:05 pm
“…Chipper’s clubhouse interview the other day? He said he busts his butt all the time”
-I think he was referring to Hooters
July 5th, 201212:06 pm
WAKE UP LOSERS!
July 5th, 201212:09 pm
RWill..very well said.
July 5th, 201212:10 pm
The Braves are a joke! Time to rebuild with younger players….wasting time with this bunch…..And get rid of the FRONT OFFICE…Time to redo this whole organization…and get rid of whoever is doing player evaluations!!! They don’t know what their doing!
July 5th, 201212:15 pm
@ BravesfaninWisconsin………. Buh Bye !!
July 5th, 20121:05 pm
“Phillies are in last place.”
Yeah but they won the NL East the past five years in a row because they went out and got players like Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay. The Braves have not won the East since 2005 because they’re tightwads. Are you able to see my point now??????
July 5th, 20121:09 pm
Ben Sheets: I heard you in Mississippi. Get out quick. Next thing you know they give you one way ticket to Japan.
City of Losers
July 5th, 20121:15 pm
Constanza has to get back in this lineup somehow. The Braves just seem to win when he is in there and the others are forced to get quality at bats. We have too many guys that are unable or unwilling to beat the shift. If that takes Chipper out of the lineup, so be it.
Fan of the Game
July 5th, 20121:23 pm
Dan Uggla being an All Star shows the system is broke. If you want the fans to pick the game’s players we need to change the name to something besides the All Star Game. All Star Game it isn’t!
July 5th, 20121:25 pm
Fredi has to bring at least one relief pitcher a game. He should send Venters down. They should fire Fredi
July 5th, 20121:59 pm
To: This beat’s staff/department Obviously you missed the point.
I received this as a season ticket holder. I for one do not believe they have done anything to substantiate the promises made.
Tired Braves' fan
July 5th, 20122:42 pm
its time to bid Fredi, Frank, Venters & Uggly adios !
July 5th, 20122:57 pm
Sell the whole team for a six pack
July 5th, 20123:03 pm
If Frank Wren quit overpaying for the likes of Kawakami, McLouth, Lowe, & Uggly he wouldn’t have to go dumpster diving all the time for players off the scrap heap.
Why do recent teams like the Marlins, Rockies, Rays & Giants go to the World Series with smaller payrolls than the Braves?
I predict Bourn will leave via free agency & Wren will take that money and give McCann a big extension.
July 5th, 20123:34 pm
Ryan Buchter, AA LHP might have been a better call up, 1.17 era, 2.79 vs LHP, .043 vs RHP, 36 SO14 BB over 30 ip this season, even so need to keep an eye on this 25 year old.
July 5th, 20123:49 pm
braves are a bad team.
finish SECOND Division.

July 5th, 20123:55 pm
chippe jones IS A JOKE.
I look for him to go to SLEEP at 3rd BASE.
July 5th, 20123:58 pm
Hi George. We will just take our 6 pack and go fishing. Have more fun than watching that so called baseball team.
July 5th, 20124:13 pm
This assemblage of players by Frank Wren is a patchwork creation that will be 12 games out by July 30th;
Let the SELLING begin !
July 5th, 20124:22 pm
@Reality Nobody wants these losers.
Jasons Sweet Buns
DOes anyone on this site really care what Fatso Fredi has to say after a agame? I skip right over his quotes…they are as clueless as he is
July 5th, 20124:23 pm
Hey Sweet Buns Where you get name?
July 5th, 20124:28 pm
trade McCann & Uggla to the American League for some prospects, preferably a catcher & thirdbaseman;
Use their salary toward Michael Bourn and some guys that can hit at least .270 or higher
July 5th, 20124:42 pm
whiskey river @10:49am………Just because you have changed your name once again, it doesn’t mean that you and I have anything to talk about. haha
July 5th, 20124:50 pm
Reckingball I am not my brother’s keeper. Whiskey River is my brother. If it is any of your business. I dont talk to fairy tale people anyway.
Jasons Sweet Pecs
July 5th, 20125:27 pm
Typical Gonzalez move..he knew venters was hurt but trying to save his managerial job
he kept putting him out there…”see? Its not my fault if Venters sucks”
Poor Reckingball. HE IS A LOSER AGAIN. Whiskey is male. I am female. We are brother and sister, Satisfied Jerk. Mind your own business.
July 5th, 20125:31 pm
Fredi es El Loco
Lil' Barry Bailout
July 5th, 20125:33 pm
The Braves must lead the league in the number of times they get three hits in an inning and still don’t manage to score.
July 5th, 20125:35 pm
“Where is Lobosolo, Reckingball and Rick. What do they think about their losers now? I told them yesterday. Here they go to last place as fast as they can go. This team STINKS!”
Sorry I must apologize for having a job and not spending every waking moment commenting on this blog like you can (and I actually like the Braves!). Like I said the other day, you need a hobby.
July 5th, 20125:51 pm
Whiskey River = Jason’s Sweet Cheeks = Samantha = Angel Wings. It gets old. I wish the ajc could somehow monitor those that use multiple screen names. Story told by Whiskey River: He said he was a cop that arrested “Samantha” and she is in a mental institution in Florida. “Angel Eyes” appears and she is supposedly in training to be a cop. Now Jason’s Sweet Cheeks appears
July 5th, 20125:54 pm
Sorry, he said OREGON, not Florida.
July 5th, 20126:06 pm
@ Buddy Landel Like I said. I am not my brothers keeper. I do iknow that he did arrest Samanta. Other than that, I don’t know anything else. I do not know any Angel Wings other than on here. So Buddy unless you really know for sure. THEN MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESWS. If you want to know something about my brother tnen ask him.
July 5th, 20127:08 pm
Why has the baseball package blacked this game out? Anyone have same problems??
July 6th, 20121:22 am
Buddy @5:51……You forgot Tommy and his wife Andy, that were under Whiskey’s supervision in the Witness Protection Program. And then there is his niece A.W. haha.
Maybe his next name will be Sybil. hahahahaha.

[...] AJC quotes following Wednesday’s loss. Fredi Gonzalez on Jonny Venters: “If we don’t get him right, and I’m not even talking about last year right, just a good left-handed arm out of the bullpen, we’re going to be up against it. We’ll keep working. He’s got a good frame of mind, and he’s working with Roger. And we’ll keep going.” [...]
