Ladies and gents. This is your 2012 Atlanta Braves! Can we all give them a standing O? When will the madness end? Cubs laughing at the Braves in their dugout
There just aren’t words to describe how underwhelming this team has been the last two years. This team needs to do some selling at the trade deadline and hope there are teams desperate enough to want some very average players.
Put on your big boy pants and fire Fredi. This team is uninspired and just going through the motions. Save the season and let TP manage rest of season. Lets see what happens. Don’t sit around and let another year go by like you did last season with not firing Parrish when you had the chance.
Playing like this against the Cubs is embarrassing. Our record against the Nats is embarrassing.
Delgado and Minor were both on our “untouchable” list. The next time someone tells you a player is untouchable, tell them they are full of crap. No one should ever be considered untouchable.
heOnlyBravesFan, how many games has Dan Uggla played at 2nd base this season and why has it adversely affected his offense?
I wait with bated breath for your enlightening genius to wash over this blog
He’s started every single game he’s played at 2B…. the only think that’s affected his offense is his lack of rest and the fact that every one slumps. He would still be a horrible LF….
The Cubs are playing pretty well in this series, thus far. They have left plenty of men on base, but have taken advantage of the Braves mistakes and score enough to win.
I agree. The next Braves manager needs to be someone without any Braves association. The culture needs to change in Atlanta. It was an outstanding culture in the 1990s, but it long since grown stagnant.
I wonder sometimes what some of these guys would be up to if they didn’t play ball? Like Dan Uggla? He could be a fireman imo, at least when things got ‘hot’ they would stay that way for a while….and, Franscisco, he could be a Butcher at some market [read:Wal-Mart]….using knives and blades…he would be sure to sharpen hit athletic skills. I could go on, but I hasten to since it only fills the silly time during a real silly game—Volstadt?
I doubt Beth Keener was harassing anyone. I’d bet it was the other way around. And by someone high enough in the organization to keep his job while she gets let go.
Guillen is a great manager…. we need a guy like him
clarkspencer @clarkspencer
Ozzie Guillen went on post-game, profanity-laced rant in clubhouse, for all to hear, ripping pitchers after Tuesday’s loss.
Hudson pitches to contact with a sinker and gets ground balls to show for it. JJ pitches to contact with no sinker.
So are you saying they both pitch to contact?
When JJ doesn’t hit his spots he gives up hits, when Huddy doesn’t hit his spots he gives up hits (see Sunday). Sometimes when they both hit there spots they give up hits because they are contact pitchers.
Why do the Braves make these terrible pitchers look like Cy Young?
There is absolutely no way these 5 + ERA guys come in here and pitch the game of their life against the Braves. We are not that lucky – nor are they!
clarkspencer @clarkspencer
Guillen said it’s unfair that Heath Bell gets most of the blame when other pitchers were just as responsible in 13-12 loss.
Kevin McAlpin @KevinMcAlpin
80 pitches through 5 for Jair Jurrjens. He’s allowed 3 runs, however none of them have been earned, on 9 hits.
5 innings? 9 hits, 80 pitches? He’s lucky for the errors, he should have some earned runs
We are at the halfway mark. 12hr and 60 rbi is producing for Chipper? And, he is not pulling his weight in the field. The real issue I was addressing was our defensive problems. 2b and 3b are our problems.
JJ even with his 87 mph fastball has pitched pretty good tonight, 0 earned runs. It is like Ralph has said so many times on this blog that the problem with this team is not pitching, it is hitting.
I live in NY and when i watch what terry colloins is doing with that met team it makes me wonder how much better the braves would be with someone like him at the helm
This Braves team takes on the persona of its manager to a tee
Fat, lazy and clueless
I know Chipper’s numbers are down because of injuries, but that’s been part of his problem.
The sad part is, that even with what I see to be his decline at the plate, he is still probably the hitter opposing pitchers fear the most. Sad commentary on our offense.

1. Jair, you might as well put it on a tee, the way you’re serving it up there.
2. Someone suggested putting Uggla in LF. I agree. Lower or upper deck?
3. To the ATL home-cookin’ scorer who didn’t give Chipper an error: what?
4. Is Freeman dragging a piano when he runs down the first base line?
5. If the Braves lose tonight, and at least one more against this AAA team, Fredi can call Delta.
6. Volstad came in with an ERA resembling the national debt, Suddenly he’s Greg Maddux.
