bad thing about JJ being the type of pitcher who gives up a lot of hits; it shoots up the pitch count which makes for an early exit and then the pen has to come in and work almost as long as he did

Actually quite the opposite, it keeps his pitch count down. Errors will shoot your pitch count up, though.

Well that’s one way to look at it. With the way our rotation looks you would think people would pull for JJ to do well. He has given us 3 good starts since he has been back. Not the JJ of old but also not the JJ that was getting lit up at the beginning of the season.
