Tommy and Fredi layed some rotten eggs in that 7th inning. I hope Shuerholz has this loss in his “Fredi Files” in his office. The dumb sh*t left a rotting Hanson in there knowing he is prone to the meltdown. Kid cannot handle the pressure when he doesn’t feel 100% perfect.

The Braves are who they are: A very capable yet under performing starting nine with only two dependable starters and a horrible bench/coach backing them. I can’t say I’d blame Wren if he viewed this season as a wash.

Not really a stretch that the Braves only run was scored by Bourn with Prado driving him in. Those are the only two guys we’ve been able to count on all year to do their jobs. Maybe Uggla will give them a shout out at the all star game that he has no business being anywhere close to without a ticket. Peace out.

Very true, that is why there are some who do not call him a number one or even two for that matter.
He is decent but not great. I am not sure he ever gets much better than a middle rotation guy. This is not the first time he pitches 5 or 6 good IP then lays an egg.

McFann … I believe that McCann is going through a terrible slump, similar to what Prado and Heyward went through last year. It happens to every player. As a fan, you just have to ride it out.

Another lackluster effort from Fat Fredi’s Bad News Braves. You KNOW the air in that clubhouse must be so thick you couldn’t cut it with a chainsaw. Fatboy is in WAY over his head, think how the players must feel. It’s like working for someone you just can’t stand and things aren’t going very well – VERY little motivation other than the players pride, and that’s not going to carry you a full season. Get used to this stuff, ’cause until things change fundamentally with this organization from the top down, the bar will be set pretty damn low…

Gonzales is absolutely killing this team. 2 singles to begin the 7th inning and he does not elect to pull Hanson? The man had pitched 6 solid innings giving up just 1 run. There is a chemistry problem with this team and it starts with the manager!

People, we don’t need to just boycott the Braves. We also need to boycott QVC (which is owned by Liberty Media). Boycott until they sell this team to real ownership. The Braves do not need to be owned by a large company that just see’s it as a tax break and nickel and dimes the team for every bit of profit they can squeeze out of it for their shareholders. In the end Ted Turner completely cursed the Braves selling them to Time Warner. We need to take his name off the stadium.

Most posters on this board hate Constanza….which is strange, because when’s he in the lineup, the Braves usually win. Better defense on the field, more speed on the bases.
Look at 4-7 in the Braves lineup: Chipper, Freeman, Uggla, McCann. One base at a time. These dudes can not, and will not advance a runner.

with all of the youth on this team, I expect it to be streaky all year long, win 4 or 5 in a row, loses 4 or 5 in a row, win a series, lose a series, win 3 out of 4, lose 2 out of 3…..
it’s really remarkable that they are above .500 when you consider the amount of sub 24 year olds on the 25 man roster there are

Smardzja did pitch well, no doubt maybe his game of the yr given his record.
I am still fuming over the Nats series & now, here the Braves are looking at sub .500 again.
They get a little hit, start winning and then go and lose a few games to get sub .500 again. That has been the pattern of the season after a good 42 game start than the 8 game losing streak.
Very frustrating season. Tonight I am fuming becaause is was a loss to the Cubs, a team we HAVE to beat.
Keep this up and it will be football time. Than we will have the Dawgs and Falcons to be frustrated with.

Name the last time a Brave has gotten anything resembling a clutch hit in late innings at home when trailing that lead to a win.
Only once in the past two seasons have the Braves entered the 9th inning when trailing and finished the 9th inning by walking off with a win.
Not a tie. A come from behind 9th inning walk off win.
One time.
Freddie Freeman vs. Brian Wilson.
When the Braves get dominant pitching they win. When they don’t they don’t win.
If the pitching is less dominant than it has been that doesn’t mean it’s not serviceable enough to give the offense a chance to score runs and win games.
The offense is the problem.

The Braves were on an 8 game run going 7-1 when Prado was at third and Castanza was in LF. Since Chipper came back the Braves are 8-13. The problem is that when Freeman, McCann, and Uggla are not hitting much Chipper coming back and not hitting is magnified.

Absolutely Nick B — it was a convenient witch hunt that made it easy for hiim. The game has to be concerned about it now, but its about protecting $$$$$$$$$ for the owners.
The players never had any rights and compared to other sports, still don’t. At least todays players get paid. Those guys who played during the Gritz Blitz era were paid a pittance given the mega dollars those owners made.
