Good job, Ross!
Bringing up the ‘96 world series almost like talking about the ‘78 season to a Boston fan.
Gio getting wild…. take until strike 2 Huddy
While Simmons has been very good for us and he hopefully will be for years to come, he won’t get ROY over Harper. Harper really does bring more for his club. He is also great defensively, has a great bat, and I believe just has much more hype and is living up to it.
On a side note, leave it to the Braves to screw away any opportunity they get. They sure came out on fire today huh? This team just completely collapses under pressure. Pretty sad that they have homefield advantage, and they have to choke away a chance at gaining ground on the division leader. I just think this team is allergic to success these days.
I bet the other 49 states would rather see Chipper than Panda, Or rather see Wright than Panda.

A- Bomb. If Sheets is good, Fredi or no Fredi the Braves will be making noise in the NL East.
And certain bats like Uggla and Chipper have to wake up. Mc Cann too. Don’t know what is wrong with these guys.
Bourn does not look like an All-Star they way he had played CF the last couple of games. He deserves to be Booed for that 1st inning miscue. Very BUMB!!!!!!!!! Bad baseball.
it seems that Huddy, like Glav, has a lot of first inning troubles
The A Bomb
Pitching around Hudson to get to Scott Boras’ prized client.
4 -pitch walk to the pitcher. Make him pay Bourn, that’s an unpardonable sin (according to Jay Howell)
Make your All-Star case here, Michael…
If nothing else, the Braves are making Gonzalez work hard. I doubt they score here though.
Giving the Braves ability to hit with RISP this is going to be a groundout to the pitcher to end the inning….
come on bourn just a hit just a hit.
Jaded Braves Fan
“Did he ever take some good Oakland teams past the first round? Maybe once. And in one of those yrs, think it was 2000 or 01, that Oakland team was better than the Yankees & they came so close but could not overcome them. Those A’s teams should have gotten to the series at least once in that time.”
Huddy’s actually never been on a team that’s won a playoff series. The A’s had that crazy stat of being something like 0-9 in potential series-clinching games while he was there.
It would be nice if the Braves could win a series for him. Great pro who’s had some very unfortunate Octobers, team-wise.
Except Michael Bourn hasn’t had a clutch hit in his career.
July 1st, 20122:17 pm
grand slam time for homer machine
Bourn should not be swinging at the 1st pitch unless it’s a meatball right down the middle.
Alright, let’s just get a run.
July 1st, 20122:18 pm
Gio will probably never throw another strike
Well it wasn’t a ground out to the pitcher but it did end the inning!! Great job hitting with RISP Braves…
Bourn is having a terrible game. Not getting the All Star nod is really messin with him.
3-0 and he couldn’t wait for another ball?
How can they catch a ball hit right to them and we can’t? Washington that good?
Terrible luck. I am unsure if the Braves will have a similar opportunity the rest of this game, but it was fun to see Simmons and Hudson make Gonzalez work the count.
Well, made Gonzalez throw a lot, hopefully it gets him out early.
Wren said Sheets could potentially join #Braves rotation within a few weeks.
Replacing Minor? If we trade for a pitcher, who would they replace? Not Delgado….
July 1st, 20122:19 pm
Wow, he did actually hit that really hard.
Not that that has ever counted for anything.
drool drool drool
Bourn is a bumb
Hugo Z Hackenbush
51 pitches already…
Bourn is not getting it done today.
Bad fielding miscue in the 1st inning and now makes an out with the bases loaded.
He deserves to be Booed.
Note that that is 2 fielding mistakes in the last 2 games. Not getting the job done.
Braves aren’t missing many gloves today…
If Bourn’s line drive out played the way it was broadcast on radio…it’s not going to be the Braves day today.
Is it just me or do the Braves always have two outs when the bases get loaded? Would be interesting to see who leads the league with the bases loaded without scoring. Bet the Braves are right up there near the top.
Giants fans were “spirited” in voting. Belt finished 2nd in fan voting at 1B, Crawford 2nd at SS, Sanchez 4th at 2B, Pagan 5th in OF.
Alot of wasted votes for undeserving players.
The count was 2-1. That first pitch to Bourn was called a strike, but the score box at the top of the screen showed the count incorrectly.
July 1st, 20122:20 pm
Bourn shouldn’t have even swung.
OCD at all Va?????
Bourn not making a case for re-signing today.
July 1st, 20122:21 pm
Nothing on the board, but a 31-pitch inning will ultimately get it done. Great job ALDRELTON!
Nice strandation…..rock o n
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
July 1st, 20122:22 pm
How come every time the Braves do something for the Troops, the Braves get their butts whooped? Ticks me off…
Here’s to a fun comeback!!…
Thanks for clearing that up Tomahawk because I thought it was 3-0 too.
“Replacing Minor? If we trade for a pitcher, who would they replace? Not Delgado….”
I sure would hope the pitcher we traded for would replace Delgado..then we might actually have a rotation that could compete with Washington’s, if Sheets returns to form.
Bourn deserves to be the Braves All Star. Chipper got the sympathy nod last year. He’s barely played this year at all. It would be a joke if he is named. A bad one
No, just seen it tweeted. San Fran tried like heck to get there guys in the starting lineup.
July 1st, 20122:24 pm
BravesfaninWis: How does Harper bring more to his club than Simmons has to us?
July 1st, 20122:25 pm
ol huddy can get um out now.
Well the guys showed some fight last inning lets see if they can get a run or 2 back.
There isn’t any limit on the number of times you can vote for the 34th player, is there? I don’t see any mention of that on the ballot or recall one from last year.
I just voted for Chipper 22,000 times using firstname.lastname@example.org
Hudson has settled down. He made some bad pitches in the first inning, but with a little defensive help he would have escaped that inning with much less damage.
July 1st, 20122:26 pm
Bourn giggling after his screw ups aggravates me more than a poor at bat or whatever. You just don’t do that in my book.
July 1st, 20122:27 pm
Harper may be popular in Vegas and the D.C. area.
Cocky pr@$# hated most everywhere else.
Chipper is a lock.
I don’t know, I assumed there was the same limit as on other players, course thats easy enuff to get around
Drunk cheering girl is calling Martin “Marten”
Andruw Jones always did that, Strikes out with bases load, results in a big smile, Ground into a double play, results in a big smile. We lose the game, he’s smiling lol
For those of us who hate the way the Braves hit with runners on base, the Yankees had bases loaded an no outs against the White Sox and failed to score.
July 1st, 20122:28 pm
Can we make Gio work again here?
I don’t mind Harper.
I did not see a strike call, he raised his hand a bit but usually is more demondtrative> I did head an announcer say that but I assumed he was wrong
Good to see Bourn’s Nationals contract went into effect as of July 1.
The rare 5 1/2-year, $82 million deal.
Nice shot, Jason!
July 1st, 20122:29 pm
Heyward with another hit, vs great LHP BTW
seems like were always one out to late for a hit
Well done, JHey!
good for you Bat, now do it three or four more times
July 1st, 20122:30 pm
Atta boy, Jason
Come on chipper
July 1st, 20122:31 pm
i love chipper, big hom0
There we go! On the board
Vote for ten.
BY THE POWER OF METAMUCIL!
It may only be one inning, but that’s how a 3-4 combo is supposed to hit.
way to go young guy and old f@rt
July 1st, 20122:32 pm
see what i mean
good thing he hit a double, now uggla won’t hit into a DP
July 1st, 20122:33 pm
As much as I liked the Bourn deal last year we should use him this tradeline the same way as we did last year. Get as many prospects as we can because Boras will demand more than he is worth at this point. He is 30 and he really strikes out too much for the money he will get. Don’t get me wrong, I like him and he is good, but not for the money he will get or the length of the deal.
Lets keep it going, Danny.
Heyward now second to Simmons in OPS.
More laboring by Gonzalez. Good.
Sheets didn’t pitch last year, and was 4 – 9 with a 4.53 era in 2010 for Oakland.
Braves need to stop this non sense. Stop shopping at the dollar store for parts to your porsche.
Heyward is a beast on the bathpaths!
July 1st, 20122:34 pm
come out your shirt swinging uggla
Why would anybody throw Uggla anything but a changeup?
Dan Uggla, never makes contact with an offspeed pitch in the zone and he never makes contact with a guy on base.

I don’t think your crazy, I think Fruti is crazy for not adopting it, I have been calling for it for two weeks now.

Of course! Why didn’t they sign that other All Star that’s just sitting on his couch in June??
