I hope so, Steve! Didn’t the Braves bust up R.A. Dickey very badly in a game earlier this season?
They did, but R.A. said blame it on the rain. Couldn’t get a feel for the pitch. One of Francisco’s best days if I remember it correctly.

but he’s still above avg in offense at catcher
then trade his ass while teams think they are getting something other that what he is. 107…..93….94…282
Batting Aver – down 107
OBP – down 93 poiints
SLG – down 94 points
OPS – down two hundred eighty two (282) points
You’re going to be paying this player $15 to $18 million for 6 or 8 years if you don’t dump him

Chipper was talking about young players make young mistakes. What was he talking about from today’s game? Hudson is no kid. Neither are Bourn,Uggla, Ross or Diaz, who were all key to the loss. DR did have a RBI single but couldn’t get even a sac fly. Varvaro and Freeman both young and both helped today.

Not pretty numbers from guys that were/are hitting 3/4 in the lineup. Not even 4/5 or 5/6 is this okay. Someone’s gotta pick it up soon. I bet Dan does first, he’s shown it earlier this year. BMac needs to bring back his mojo.

I want Tony aka “The Brain” to start Dickey for the NL so he bleeps up the AL hitters’ swings for the game, because based on the starting lineup the Giants’ fans gave the NL, that’s pretty much the NL’s only chance for home field in the WS.

I was saying earlier that some of the vets aren’t doing their part and that hurts just as much if not more than the young ones and their ups and downs. If Frank Wren can solidify the pitching, hopefully those guys with the bats turn it around and hit like they did for the first month of the season when this lineup looked real deep.

I wish we’d bring Constanza back unless he is hurt or gone and send Francisco packing. Bring Pastornicky back up and send Wilson packing. Give Venters a break b/c something is wrong with him and it isn’t mechanics. He has a dead arm compared to the first 2/3rds of last year. They abused him with overuse.
We can’t let Mac go b/c we don’t have anyhting nearly as good. He’ll be ok again. He is a battler and has had some eye and injury issues. Sometimes we don’t know what we have until its gone. Mac is good! If I were Mac I’d want to be traded to the Yanks. Short porch in right and they’d love him there.
Uggla needs to go. Try and talk some dumb GM into taking an All-Star in a trade.
Trade Bourn and get as much as we can from a contender.

Anyways, I don’t see a reason to dump BMac right now, or even next year (unless for some reason, next year, we’re way out of it and can get a massive haul in return). Just give him his option (though giving 12 million to guy who’s hitting this poorly might seem silly, he can’t stay this bad) and see what next year holds. If he plays too well to price himself out of our range, so be it. If he plays poorly again, he’s gone.
However, I don’t see that happening. I (hope) and think he hits .275 next year, with decent defense, and be worth about 12-14 million for at most 4 years. No more than that, IMO.

The Braves should be in SELL mode. They are a mediocre team. At the end of the year, they will either be barely over .500 or barely under .500. They aren’t better than the Nats, Mets. Giants, Reds, Pirates, etc. McCann should be sent to an AL team. I’m sure some team like the Tigers would part with some good prospects for Mac. At this point in his career, he is a liability behind the plate and his offense is easily replaceable. Bourn and Uggla would bring in good hauls as well. Others I would try to trade would be Venters, CMart, Ross, Hinske, Diaz, Minor, Delgado, and Teheran. This team needs to build around Simmons, Heyward, Prado, Freeman, Kimbrel, Hanson, Beachy, Vizcaino, Medlen, etc.

To me Uggla is our most glaring problem. He is suppose to be the cleanup hitter. He hovers around .235 counting his few hot streaks. Thats poor and as fans we aren’t helping if we accept such mediocrity.
Last year, and I may be crazy for suggesting it, but people were all over Nate McOut and Scott Proctor or whatever his name was. The cities that are known for having hard to please fans usually do well. In ATL we are guilty at times of just accepting all the post game excuses…
I don’t know. Just want them to do well and we have too many glaring holes. Sometimes we expect these owners and gms to treat teams like retirement plans and play it safe and hold guys for the future. Well, that hasn’t worked real well. We have one title. I know ownership and lack of money plays a huge part but crap fire…
The Marlins catch a lot of grief from some for selling off teams after they go out and get players and win. Well, at least they went and got what they needed and won and how much worse off are they now than the conservative hold on to every prospect for the future Braves.
Save the Stupid Texeira trade when did the Braves last go out and really try to do something to win?
