I did not see that coming.
Simmons! Way to come through.
I love you, Simmons!!!!!!!!!!!
June 29th, 201210:03 pm
Wow….love this kid.
The A Bomb
There’s some magic.
That’s what contenders need.
Yeah that Simmons is just awful.
The kid is for real folks!!!!!!!!!
No way! I turn back and it’s tied….sweet!
So much for that rough night for Simmons. Made amends and then some with that blast.
Simmons is a stud. You have to be kidding me on thatHR
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
Simba, Simba, Simba!…
Cue the second guessing of Davey Johnson by Nationals fans.
This has to be another dimension…
Is their pitcher still grinning?
June 29th, 201210:04 pm
Well, this rally was not expected but a pleasant surprise.
Man, 2 run shot —– No way could we expect a 4 R inning.
And another HR for Simmons and his offense is getting respect from opposing pitchers. No way did we expect him to hit like this. Small sample size but——
Hey, nice surprise.
June 29th, 201210:05 pm
Of course he didn’t homer with the bases loaded earlier….
Simmons should be sent down and that right now.
@Harry: yup dude, you gotta watch your step here. There are a lot of folks that think they are the Pope, Einstein, Ghandi, and the Dalai Lama all wrapped up in one. You are not allowed to question these folks, disagree with them, or have a different interpretation of the same evidence.
That was sweet…too bad they’ll let him go
That kid has more fire in him than anyone else on the Braves.
Wiped those smirks right off those gNats’ faces.
The Braves need to continue grinding out at bats, but it will be tough against the Nats pen. Plus, the Braves bullpen needs to be in good form tonight if the Braves want to win the game.
June 29th, 201210:06 pm
Now if the Braves could get something like this on the pitching side —
The BIG FOUR is presently ZERO FOR FOUR.
DOB, he made amends one other time when he made an error that cost us 2 runs with a HR
The little sh*t pitcher for the Nats isn’t laughing so much anymore……
Simmons in the 2 hole and heyward batting 3rd. Kind of like that.
Key is still signing Bourn to play CF and leadoff
Not smiling anymore are ya?
As for the bench, comming into the season it looked like a real good bench but it just has not worked to date.
Still not giving up on Ross or Hinske, they do have some good baseball left. I do not know about Diaz or Wilson.
June 29th, 201210:07 pm
@Illini – Well put, from a fellow “heartlander.”
Davey Johnson pulled a FG, guy was tiring and he didn’t pull the trigger, didn’t even have anyone warming up. Sort of cocky.
Mark Bowman @mlbbowman
Simmons hits a game-tying homer. He has three homers and two have followed two of the thee errors he has committed in his young career
Simba for team MVP
June 29th, 201210:08 pm
Crap. The last two games have witnessed the return of crappy Heyward.
(Rob from SC)
Heyward is Trying to pull and smash everything. Pressure of hitting 2/3?
June 29th, 201210:09 pm
Whoa, the BUMBS came back? WOW…. (sarcasm)
June 29th, 201210:10 pm
Right on Mark.
Marteen is the Heart and Soul of this (or any) lineup.
Love that guy. Go Teen!!
Durbin needs to hold that Nats right where they are in the 8th inning. Who would have ever thought Chad Durbin would become an 8th inning man for the Braves?
I have been calling for Simmons in the 2 hole and J-Hey in the 3 spot for a couple of weeks, now watch tomorrow Fruti will change it again, bet on it!
Fan since '66
June 29th, 201210:11 pm
Told ya folks, just relax. It’s a long game and even longer season. Ya just gotta keep battlin’.
Durbin? really? What a awful manager we have!
You’re flippin’ kidding me!!
the usual. can’t stand success.
Just the pressure of being Heyward….
And just like that, bad Durbin returns.
Geez. Gas Can is back.
Unreal…couldn’t keep it tied for one pitch. So typical.
So much for that.
I hate the damn Nats.
That guy hits a HR against us every time we play them. THrow away the book.
June 29th, 201210:12 pm
This team really pisses me off. My goodness. Battle their butts off to tie and then one pitch into the 8th inning and they trail again.
Heyward needs to not change a thing whether he is hitting 7th or 3rd
That is NOT championship baseball.
NOT SEPARATED AT BIRTH: Fredi Gonzalez and KIng Midas.
Damn…Chad was bound to give up a run eventually, just a terrible time for it.
Good call, fan since 66…..
No need to worry!
June 29th, 201210:13 pm
Dang it …
lotta young pitchers trying to feel their way though.
I warned you Fredi was going to do this. He was going to be fooled into believing Durbin was actually a decent reliever and start using him in more and more important situations.
Though, to be fair to Fredi, no one else in the relief corps is stepping up. Still, Durbin is the same awful reliever he’s always been.
Add Durbin to the list of bums that Wren brought in. What a pathetic joke. Durbin, Hernandez, Venters, Varvaro, Gearin. All should never see the MLB level again this year. Worst bullpen in baseball.
We’ve still got time to come back guys, and it’s just 1 run….
The Prado hamstring is all better.
Just like that.
June 29th, 201210:14 pm
Nats ‘want’ this….that’s all.
Can’t complain about Durbin after how well he has pitched over the past month, but coming off a 4 run inning that is sure a buzz kill
June 29th, 201210:15 pm
Durbin gives up one moonshot homer in 2 months and is immediately DFAd by the blog….
Wow we just cannot beat these guys.
I know, wait until one of the hottest hitters in baseball (for the last month) starts to cool off and THEN move him up in the order! Way to go Fredi!
Fredi Gonzalez is not a very good manager. That’s for sure.
It’s not like Morse hasn’t hit a few HR’s against us.
Any manager that uses Durbin in a tie game is either stupid, or retarded. Luckily, we have one that’s both. Someday, Frediot will figure out Durbin is a joke. Maybe not this year. It’s almost July and he’s still trotting him out there. Pathetic loser. I refuse to spend money to watch this team play until Frediot is replaced.
Flores clowns the Braves all the time.
June 29th, 201210:16 pm
Worst bullpen in baseball.
Not true… Someone (VJ?) put the stat up earlier… IIRC, we’re 9th, not 30th…
Durbin gives up a laser beam double….
And now you begin to wonder.
Club worthy Durby appearing tonight.
10:02 they’re the best team in baseball, 10:13 it’s back to being a horrible team
There was nothing wrong with giving Prado a day off to rest a sore hammy. Of course I would not have done it the same night I rested uggla
June 29th, 201210:17 pm
Your money, Nick, or taxpayer’s money?
Durbinator has been very good ,can’t fault Fredi for using him.
at least it was a solo shot.
I like Heyward. Huge potential. But I wish they’d leave him at 5 or 6. He isn’t ready for the 3 hole. Of course, in Fredis defense which I don’t do often, we don’t have a 3 hitter right now!
Any manager that uses Durbin in a tie game is either stupid, or retarded.
That’s why it worked for a month or so…. Guess we should’ve used Kimbrel. Oh wait, we did last night…
June 29th, 201210:18 pm
Durbin was the wrong choice to begin the 8th inning to be sure, but O’Flaherty and Venters have had their share of troubles against right handers this year. Tough call. Venters will definitely allow Durbins run to score though.
But brian, he’s in the game now….night off?
Braves subtract one of those errors from earlier and we are probably tied right now. Can’t make errors against this team.
I wonder where the act of slapping a player on his ass got started. Fredi definitely likes putting his hands on everybody’s butt.
June 29th, 201210:19 pm
Amazing how maddeningly inconsistent and unreliable our bullpen is.
I would rather he had left Durbin in.
Every move Frediot makes backfires in his face. What does that tell you? Stupid Bobby Cox protege. Wren should be fired for hiring this career loser.
Let the roller coaster ride begin: please keep your arms inside and the bar down
June 29th, 201210:20 pm
How many hits has Venters allowed that a pitcher who ends in good fielding position would have turned into outs?
Venters has no business in the bigs right now. He needs to get straightened out in AAA. Ind blowing stuff.
Still not over, phil
Richard Flores @RFlores91
@SportsCenter Aaron hill just hit for his 2nd cycle this season. if something hasn’t happened in 80 years it is #sctop10 worthy
