Heyward was facing AL pitchers who’ve never seen him for most of the month, Efrim. That could have contributed to the crazy hitting. I hope not, but it’s possible.
Mike Stanton is going to be in the HR Derby for the NL.
Bozo ( The Clown )
June 29th, 20128:23 pm
what the hell is mccann doing there?? this is clown baseball side note, those stupid kids behind home plate.. im really getting sick of seeing these spoiled rotten children with 300 dollar seats
June 29th, 20128:24 pm
Randall has the stuff. Once he learns to use it right he will be a real good one.
June 29th, 20128:25 pm
Nickname for LaRoche should be SLOW MOTION
June 29th, 20128:26 pm
If we had swept snakes=3-0………..but we ended up =2-1…………..if we swept and then got swept by DC=3-3…….if we in one vs. DC=1-2……….totals for both series=3-3 or 3-3…….still .500 either way

If we cant hit, can we play some defense please?
auditioning for the new Bad News Bears movie?
Come on Simmons
Jack Wilson, a key part of the loser Atlanta bench. Why the hell does he have a MLB uniform…and the Braves Litlle League calber play continues…
Jaded Braves Fan
This is just awful baseball. Once again the Braves haven’t shown up for a big game.
….And the brain hemorage is about to occur
June 29th, 20128:29 pm
Sweet try by Simmons after Wilson’s boot.
This kid really impresses me!
June 29th, 20128:30 pm
We will have more errors tonight than hits.
Good flippin’ grief…
Dont see Braves scoring 5 runs in this series and it looks like we left are gloves behind. 3 errors
Delgado starts to pitch better and then the defense goes in the crapper.
June 29th, 20128:31 pm
That play by McCann makes me sick. Just quit and let the run in.
Simmons…true team guy, just what we need and young…..not like that old Raccoon.
Good grief, this team will never compete with Delgado and Minor in the rotation. Cheap ass Braves.
Busch Leaguer is Drinking Jim Fregosi's Liquor tonight
Unearned runs ,looks like a little league game .Turn out the lights this game is over.
Three-error inning. Fugly.
They’re reviewing call on Chipper error, but looked like error to me. Not a real difficult play.
What an amazingly breath-taking team the Braves are.
June 29th, 2012
Agreed…..that was crazy.
Heck of a throw by Diaz just needs to be caught by McCann and its an out. The ball beat the runner by 3 feet.
Delgado being a sissy again. Lollypop shi* throw from diaz, per usual. McCann scared of the runner. Chipper scared of the ball. Jack now can’t get routiners. Simmons getting overexcited.
Braves look like complete shi*.
So…..this is what you do when facing the team you’re chasing? At home?
You fall flat on your effing face?
Yeah, ‘playoff club’ alright.
June 29th, 20128:32 pm
Enter your comments hereWhy is Wilson even playing if he is going to committ errors?
Holy Cow! I know McCann’s defensive technique is bad, but not even making an attempt to catch the ball from Diaz? (while the runner was sliding into home)
You got to be kidding me with that… that was pitiful.
June 29th, 20128:33 pm
Nats commentator makes snarky remark “that’s some quality baseball right there.”
Let the losing streak begin!

Yes, Charlie, these are our Braves. An above .500 major league team that is far from perfect. But then again aren’t all teams flawed? Settle down, dude, it’s a long season.
All we needed was a boot by Freeman and we could have had the extremely rare Infield Error Cycle (and all in the same inning no less!)
@KeyLargo….we have seen these types of defensive mannerisms repetitively from Mac–just looks un-MLB, I don’t know exactly how to characterize that stuff
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
OK, Joe Simpson—ya know what? Since you know so much about it, next time there’s a runner barreling home at the same time as the ball, we’ll put the gear on you, and you cann make the play…
June 29th, 20128:34 pm
walk breaks up perfect game attempt
That was a circus like inning. Geebers.
Pitching and defense wins games and championships. We are onetradeaway from the pitching for this year and many years to come. Where is the D?
June 29th, 20128:35 pm
Mac’s a beer league softball catcher. Nothing more.
Delgado at 68 pitches. He usually melts down at about 80-90. That would be next inning.
Are you kiddin me about Diaz’ throw? That throw was complete crap, into the runner and weak, never had a chance at the plate!!!!
this team is totally outclassed by washington..unreal…might get no hit tonite…need another bat and some pitching help…delgado and minor need to be in the bullpen or gwinett
June 29th, 20128:36 pm
Joe S. was thrice the player Mac will ever hope to be.
Bank on it.
Idk why anyone expected anything any different? I mean look at the Braves stats against the Nationals the past 3 or so years. We suck against them. Expected.
June 29th, 20128:37 pm
For those slamming the D, we hav actually been one of the best fielding teams in MLB all year. But when you have your B-Team out there at 2B and LF, and a cripple at 3B, what can you expect?
Joe Simpson doesn’t make $13 million dollars to make that play. McCann DOES>
June 29th, 20128:38 pm
Whew…now THAT was embarrassing. I expected a clown on a unicycle to come out and start juggling for a minute there!
Brooks Conrad must be laughing himself silly right now.
The A Bomb
Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday
San Francisco at Washington — your NLCS preview.
Braves cant beat Nats or Phils. We have to lead MLb in unearned runs.again this team will not score 5 runs this weekend.
June 29th, 20128:39 pm
P B Orr – you are a HUGE MORONIC IDIOT – talk like that to McFann again and you will never post on this blog again, you cretinous waste of human flesh…
(no offense intended)…
Was it last night McCann made the nice catch, block and tag at the plate? Was it last night he had the double off the wall?
Say what you want about Mac, I don’t care, but that throw was total horsc crap from Diaz.
June 29th, 20128:40 pm
McCann wussied out. Period. Not the first time he’s done it either.
At least we won’t get no hit.
Thanks, V. Jim.
Either way—looks like it might be a good time to just sit back and watch the game for a while…
Good job beating that out, Michael!
McFann- catchers are on the field to play good defense (mostly). They even have pads and a helmet to help them when a runner is coming home.
That no-play by McCann was soooo weak, even you can’t defend that.
I’d bet there isn’t another catcher in baseball that would have done the O-Lay and not even stuck a glove out.
June 29th, 20128:41 pm
We need something exciting in this game….wish Timothy Miller was singing God Bless America tonight.
and yeah Diaz throws like a little girl which obviously didn’t help.
Ready to see the chop, the chant, and wave relegated to history.

June 29th, 2012
always have to come up with some negative crap to blast Jason with dontcha phil? WYT was it that he did to you anyway?
wasn’t much of a blast, nolie. He should’ve caught the ball. Nothing more than that.
Larry, McFann, and Skywerd earning their keep for sure! Jones looked like he was in a rocking chair. The horrible throw from middle-right to FIRST…awful! And what the eff was McFann doing? Was he afraid if he bent over he would split his pants???
Mixxo, you do know that Joe S. was a total joke of a major league ballplayer, right?
That was a weak effort by McCann, no other way around it. At least as bad as Heyward loafing on Harper’s ball last month.
Just once I’d like to see the Braves come at home in a big series and not give a wimpy effort. Very disheartening.
June 29th, 20128:45 pm
This blog has the weakest trolls in sports
Wren needs to stop screwing around and improve the bench. No telling how hard opposing teams laugh when they see Francisco and Wilson etched into the lineup.
June 29th, 20128:46 pm
Bat – but I’ve been working out…

June 29th, 2012
You know phil, and all you other losers, if one run was gonna beat you, you weren’t gonna win anyway. Relax
i am relaxed but you’re a damn fool. No fixin that….
June 29th, 20128:47 pm
Yeah, and you fit right in, “Masterson” – bet your hero is Skip Bayless, amirite?
Brian was standing straight up at home plate because he was decoying the runner into thinking there was not going to be a play at the plate.
I won’t criticize his route to the throw because the throw was tailing an awful lot at that point and was probably hard for him to read.
As for the throw – Diaz has never been known for his defense or his arm.
I thought it was a pretty good throw for him.
Nah, we don’t need another starting pitcher, remember these guys are young?
June 29th, 20128:48 pm
I can understand Fredi giving Uggla a night off ,but why have Prado on the bench on the same night with a lefty staring for the Nats.
Delgado still isn’t a prime-time pitcher.
Turner Field is still a house of horrors.
We still can’t beat the Nats.
For crying out loud . . .
June 29th, 20128:49 pm
Says IlliniBrave: “NATS commentator makes snarky remark “that’s some quality baseball right there.”
Why wouldn’t they? I agree 100 percent. Not a player hater like so many on this blog, but you can see effort when it’s there. It’s not there tonight even though the fans paid to see a professional game and had to drive through that terrible Atlanta traffic.
Yup, thought this was gonna happen. Delgado usually has his meltdown at about 80-90 pitches. Flores just deposited his 79th into the stands. Delgado is done.
Time for Wren to get busy if the team wants to compete.
This “Big 4″ deal is starting to unravel big time.
WTG Randall. Just keep pouring it on kid. No matter how bad you are, you’ve got a job with the Braves.
June 29th, 20128:50 pm
“Time for Wren to get busy if the team wants to compete.

That cooling vest thing is pretty cool. Then the amonia thing on a wet towel is something new to me, just never heard of that.
“Mixxo, you do know that Joe S. was a total joke of a major league ballplayer, right?” – Fan since ‘66
Actually, no, I didn’t know that. But, it sounded good.
Then again, I’ve only been a fan since ‘71.
June 29th, 20128:51 pm
I miss Beachy.
this series is already looking like sweep potential. A combination of poor Delgado+Defense+offense tonight, then their two best starters get the ball on Saturday/Sunday
Busch Leaguer, read the article DOB wrote about it.
i am relaxed but you’re a damn fool. No fixin that….
Coming from you phil, I’ll have to take that as an expert opinion. Loser.
Never thought I would see the day when I started hating the Nats and feeling kinda sorry for the Phils. Talk about a role-reversal. God I can’ stand that Bryce Harper!
June 29th, 20128:52 pm
Bush leaguer, Prado has a sore hammy. Yeah, let’s have him risk serious injury. Uh, no.
It’s 4-0 Mitchell.
May as well be 10-0.
June 29th, 20128:53 pm
90 pitches through 4. Again. We rushed this kid as well.
Chatt- That’s been around for decades. As he said just don’t use the household kind.
Well, not much for me to do tonight. My favorite whipping boy Uggla isn’t playing, so I can’t beat him down, and we are already getting our asses handed to us. The will be my only post, so I’ll just say, let the sweep begin. Not gonna be a pretty sight for Braves fans. Especially those they have this deluded notion that this team is gonna make the playoffs this year.
AMEN, A BOMB! The collapse is looming…starting early this year. Pathetic display.
