McFann- catchers are on the field to play good defense (mostly). They even have pads and a helmet to help them when a runner is coming home.
That no-play by McCann was soooo weak, even you can’t defend that.
I’d bet there isn’t another catcher in baseball that would have done the O-Lay and not even stuck a glove out.

Brian was standing straight up at home plate because he was decoying the runner into thinking there was not going to be a play at the plate.
I won’t criticize his route to the throw because the throw was tailing an awful lot at that point and was probably hard for him to read.
As for the throw – Diaz has never been known for his defense or his arm.
I thought it was a pretty good throw for him.
