Again, every move Fredi makes blows up. Sure, some of it is baseball and just luck, but come on. After August and Septermber of last year, and then the 9 game losing streak and mis management of our pen (Jays and Yanks series specifically) you have to ask if he’s in touch with his players?

you hold to 4 runs for so many innings then you score the next inning you give it back.

At least Ventbro got out of it. But coming back against Burnett and Clippard with this motley crew of a lineup is going to be difficult.

“@MarkZuckerman: And naturally Sean Burnett draws the walk to load the bases for Bryce Harper. Proud moment in Jonny Venters’ career there.”

Then Venters strikes out Harper. This is farcical.

Simmons really plays hard. Fun to watch.

That brings up a point. When we had Maddox, Smoltz, Glavine, Avery…those guys competed hard out there and it was obvious. I’m not talking about their obvious talent but just the competitive part. These guys(starters now)minus Hudson, could take a page from those guys on how to pull the damn hat down and get after people!

Seems like JV has a focus problem. When you have two runners on and fool around with the pitcher, throwing all but one pitch outside the strike zone, then a real HR threat comes up with the bases loaded and you get serious and pitch great. What’s with that?
