Bauer will do anything his energy drinks dictate him to do.
Actually in high school, the starting staff was Bauer and Mike Montgomery (Kansas City -AAA).
Only thing I can think of like that is one that never really pitched together — Fried and Giolito at Harvard-Westlake out here in SoCal — both first-rounders this year.
What is the deal with this umpire, Jurrjens third pitch was on the corner. That is three pitches Jurrjens has failed to receive a strike call that touched the corner of the plate.
Haven’t seen the ABs, so I don’t know how they actually went…but just following the game on Gameday, it appears that Heyward is back to pulling everything to the right side again. Small sample size I know, but I just hate to see it developing into a trend.
Jason Heyward has become an elite defensive right fielder this season. He has always had the range and the ability to throw runners out at the plate, but he has honed his accuracy and now he is deadly.
DOB, I am sure someone with all of your knowledge could come up with better questions than the usual will you keep running him out there? You have to tip your cap. Most important of all believe the back of the bubble gum card.
Heyward has made two of those terrific, just about perfect throws to nail guys at home this month. Dude is having the finest all-around month of his young career, which is saying something considering the couple of months he had early in his rookie year.
Wow—just watch Heyward’s throw/BMac’s tag. That was a GREAT play. Unbelievable throw. Very nice tag by BMac, too—Kubel needs to watch those spikes, though…
